(Erika, pre-death. After being revived her skin is a sickly green and her heart constantly glows with a bright orange energy.)
"If they play around with cells, genetic engineers might well create their own chimera. A new life form, totally alien, totally different to what God intended for Earth." (Godzilla vs. Biollante)
Name: Erika Shiragami
Age: 30
Gender: Female
Personality: Before her death, Erika was always cheerful, always eager to help out others, especially her father. Though her drive to benefit humanity remains, her personality is drastically altered due to her merged biology with Godzilla. Her temper is much shorter, and she gets angry or panicked easily. Godzilla's hatred of humanity manifests as antisocial behavior in Erika, she can no longer stand being in groups of people and becomes easily frustrated when talking to more than one person at a time. She can no longer stand to be surrounded by or inside of buildings, and interfacing with technology is now beyond her grasp, and merely enrages her when she attempts it. Most of her biological research is done by ordering scientists as proxies, or utilizing a simple lab built on the rooftop of a KDF building. Because of this she cannot use any of the anti-kaiju weapons herself and despite her powerful physiology she is unsuited for battle again the Kaiju. Additionally she opposes the creation of specialized weapons from the remains of Kaiju, though she reigns in her debate as others may believe her to be a Kaiju sympathizer, and they might be right.
History: Instead of forming Biollante, Dr. Shiragami's attempt to bring his daughter back to life was a success, to a certain degree, and the project to develop a microbe that could destroy Godzilla was a failure.
Shortly after Godzilla's first attacks, research into combating the Kaiju relied heavily on KDF's access to biological samples of Godzilla. Erika worked with her father using the Godzilla cells to work on the Anti-Nuclear Energy Bacteria for the KDF to destroy Godzilla and any other radiation-based Kaiju with ease. Bio-Major, an American Task Force assigned to take out potential sources of bioterrorism, attacked Shirgami's lab, fearing the Japanese would use the ANEB to deplete America's store of nuclear arms and energy plants. Erika Shiragami was killed in the attack, but her father survived and managed to save the Godzilla sample, and recovered her corpse from the site later. Obsessed with trying to bring her back, by infusing her DNA into a rose bush that had been made drought and radiation-resistant by Godzilla's DNA. Before this hybrid could grow, Godzilla attacked, and when Kiryu went berserk the plant was damaged, and Dr. Shiragami was mortally wounded. In his last moments he scrapped the ANEB project and took the entirety of the remaining Godzilla sample and the rose bush and fused them directly with Erika's body. The attempt was a success, Dr. Shiragami died, but Erika was born anew.
Erika was recovered from the rubble that was Dr. Shiragami's second lab, but this time she was alive and stronger than ever. With her father gone, Erika decided to resume her research into finding a biological method to defeating Godzilla and quickly became a key researcher at the KDF. However, the change in personality caused by her merging with Godzilla's biology has forced her to isolate herself and conduct her research from a garden on the roof of the KDF Research Facility. However, now she had a growing source of Godzilla cells to study: the core of regenerating Godzilla tissue within her heart.
Other: So long as the core of Godzilla cells in her heart is intact or unexposed, Erika can quickly regenerate her body after an injury. She no longer needs to sleep and gets most of her energy through photosynthesis. She is stronger than the average human but not enough to make her useful against a Kaiju without a weapon, and she cannot die from exposure to radioactivity. Erika suspects that she may be immortal or extremely long-lived due to her regeneration and plant-like biology, but doesn't know for sure.
