I think beyond rolling for the encounters themselves, there isn't much else one needs to do to act as environment for someone else.

The encounter system really is confusing me, why don't we just have a list of Pokemon catchable in an area and once you get there you can catch the pokemon your looking for?

I feel like this is an RPG and everyone would be happy catching their favorite pokemon, not just a random encounter?

Thats not how it was in the anime, or the game for that matter. If that was a thing, people would be runnin around all over the place with Psuedo–Legendaries.

I think the RNG system is more for realism/immersion than anything else. I mean, a pokemon RP's kind of supposed to represent your character's trainer journey and stuff through their view, and unlike the pokemon games, they don't have the internet at their disposal. I feel it's kind of supposed to be random, because unless you ask around for what pokemon are around, you'll kind of be in the dark.

I guess I should say that it's supposed to be similar to playing the first pokemon for the first time in the 80's or something. You don't know what you're going to get, but you can be selective about it, catching some pokemon and not others. But you never know what'll pop up, so you'd normally go for whatever works for you.

I suppose an RP isn't like that because it'd take too long to fully optimise your team like that, but I think that's why AbysmalDemon allowed us a certain amount of freedom in the pokemon we can get. I think it's so that the RP keeps a constant pace, and so that we aren't constantly bogged down by capturing. With that said, I think RNG works to an extent, because that's kind of the way it should be.

But that might just be me, so feel free to disregard this.

IDK, as long as I can make my dream contest team on this RP then I will be happy either way; I just gotta know where they are located and have an encounter with them when I get there eventually.

I mean the RP would be fun for trainers who catch different types of pokemon but pokemon contests in the anime and games are made by what pokemon are "Cool, Cute, Beauty, Smart, Tough" contests.

So if Fantasia wants to win cute and beauty contests, she needs cute and beautiful pokemon that know cute and beautiful moves. In the games, your pokemon could be the ugliest thing ever and still win a cute contest because of the moves it knows. However, I know that we are doing Anime logic about pokemon looks being a factor to the contest types.

I can't just randomly run into a Rattata and enter it in a cute or cool contest.

For people who are doing contests as their primary goal, they are going after the best looking pokemon; not just any random pokemon.

Does that make sense?

Fantasia would be looking for cute pokemon like Cherrim or beauty pokemon like Amaura, its a waste of time if I run into other pokemon that I won't end up capturing.

Why don't we just limit 1 Legendary, 1 Pseudo Legendary and 1 Mega Evoloutin per trainer until further notice, so people can get the pokemon they are after on the designated routes; and can't abuse the "pseudo legendary" and mega evolution features?

Actually, there's Metagross and Garchomp, and also Tyranitar isn't a dragon. Actually, I think the only dragon pseudos are Hydreigon and Dragonite, but most have dragon moves. And they all also have 600 base stats, pretty sure.

Speak for yourself. My endgame team will be Tyranitar, Dragonite, Salamence, Metagross, Starter, and Legendary.
