@Dragoknighte@Horrid@Luminosity@knighthawk@Afina@Billsomething@Melkor@Penultimate_Pi@TheWizardLizard@Warrior In The Shadows@Goldeagle1221Morning everyone,
Seems we may have run into a bit of a "conundrum," so before it continues I think it would be best if it was addressed. Before I begin, let me start of by saying this isn't directed at one person in particular. (If it was I would have just pm'ed you) - Instead this is directed at everyone. (Including myself)
1) Unless we are in post rotation or you are waiting on a specific answer to a specific question from a specific character - do not worry about holding posts.
2) Even if your post will be short, it is okay to post it.
3) Posts do not have to be 4-5,000 paragraphs long. This is casual.
4) Posts can be 10,000 paragraphs long. I do love a long read.
5) Don't let one person's long posts deter you from making shorter posts.
6) To keep life in an rp, I would much rather see 2-3 shorter banter posts between characters every day than 1 long post every day or two. It keeps the flow more natural and gives a better over all feel.
7) If you know someone is waiting on your post, don't be a dick and hold your post.
8) Real life happens, we all know that BUT when you join an rp you are signing an unspoken contract to be respectful of those in the rp, this includes their time. Don't be a jerk and barely post in one rp and then go and join more rps that will make your posting even less frequent. It's rude.
9) It isn't my job to tell you what to post, if I wanted that I would go back to writing short stories.
10) Don't be a jerk to the Gm - aka me - I may be on the forum a lot but that is only cause I multitask like a boss. It takes a lot to run an rp. I run my own business, take care of a house, three kids - among other things. I dedicate my time and effort to keep things moving, providing an rp, working out scenarios, adding in players subplots, story lines, fights, trying to keep posts flowing for faster posters but keeping story line at a reasonable pace for slower posters, etc. Please, show some respect for that.
11) It is your job as an rper to get your character to interact with others. Rp is 10% fights, 25% what the gm provides, and the rest what you pull out of your own butt.
12) There is always something to post, characters are around you, post observations, what your character thinks of things they see, etc. Heck if your character is bored - day dream, dance, sing, fart, I don't care. Let out a belch that echos through the cave like a call from God. Show us what makes your character a character.
13) Read - Rp, as one of my dearest Rp partners states, stands for Read, then, Post. If you need, take notes. I do. I see a post that includes a conversation, a scar, an amused look - these are all fodder I can exploit for my character to react to. Have fun with it.
14) Not all characters are liked at all times, deal with it. We may be on a noble mission but no one gets along with everyone all of the time. It's impossible to get 100% of the people to like you 100% of the time but you can easily tick everyone off - if you can do it! Lol Have fun with the tension.
15) Not every post you make will be poetry, sometimes it is just crap on a page. Don't let that keep you from posting. We all have to evacuate our mental bowels from time to time, just let it flow.
That about covers it, I think, it's early and I am only on my first cup of coffee. I may rant more later but right now I am tired of typing ooc and want to get back to ic. See you in rp.
Afie~
Oh one more thing - I don't care if this ooc ticks you off, or makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside. So don't bother pming me with a rant saying I stepped over a line - Second rule in the original ooc is "Gm is god" - I have spoken.
