I'll get to posting tonight, @ImportantNobody, we might want to post a couple times this evening. So that our fight doesn't end before it even really pumps up into full swing.

You agree?

Yes. I'll be going out for dinner after work but will get to it when I get back.

@Skallagrim Can characters, post fight, view the battles that were going on at the same time as their own?

About Ruchette's heat defense, I wanted to keep true to the properties of diamon which is infused in her body. Smoke would still mess her up just like a normal human. Too hot for too long and her cells wouldn't be able to function properly and cause problems for her.

Is "too much heat," relative to her resistance to it? Because if so that's pretty negligible.

Last comment since you're relating it to the diamond.

Diamond can melt. How hot must it get?

1,292 degrees Fahrenheit, that's how hot.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining or asking for anything. That's just me informing whomever is interested.

Every source I've checked said 3,550 celcius

Really? Interesting. I'd like to see the sources.

THIS IS NOT ME SAYING "Psh, yeah right," this is me legit wanting to see it myself. I'd rather be wrong and learn something, than think I'm right and continue in ignorance.

Yeah, from what i've read, under normal pressures, carbon won't even melt, it will just directly go to burning at 3,550 celcius. And as diamond is an allotrope of carbon, i think this applies to it as well.

EDIT: quoting wikiepdia - "Carbon also has the highest sublimation point of all elements. At atmospheric pressure it has no melting point as its triple point is at 10.8 ± 0.2 MPa and 4,600 ± 300 K (~4,330 °C or 7,820 °F), so it sublimes at about 3,900 K".

Maybe it's high pressure that it melts? Whatever the case, after this tournament is over and if I keep using her I can change some stuff to maybe make her half resistant. Of course her diamond itself will retain full normal diamond resistances.

You know diamonds are brittle right.

Not with her ki unless you break past her defenses.

That sounds pretty reasonable. You are right, I did a bit more digging. The heating temp is not as low as I thought. I must've had a bad source. See, I learned something. This is why I ask questions.

Just the half resistance thing or do you think I should add more weaknesses?

Well that depends on how you answer the following question.

Is it her skin/muscle that is that resistant to heat, or is it literally all of her body including her internal organs?

The melting point and breaking point of diamond don't matter to me, all that matter to me is the breaking point of bone.

All of her body is infused with it, so literally everything...besides the bacteria. No way that's exploitable though. Like, at all, so don't even attempt it. *walks away whistling nonchalantly

Okay, so even if you killed the bacteria with heat, that wouldn't do any damage to her within the time frame of the battle and in this tournament it's logically implied that they'd be restored as well or else everyone would suffer if the bacteria isn't normal and going along with them for the ride.

The masked man did not respond right away as he seemingly turned his attention back to the throne. “What you ask is the ‘scope’? Why the prize of course! I can’t imagine such a weapon being of any interest you to one such as yourself. You don’t strike me as one stupid enough to release such a being as the Lord of Nightmares.”

What I'm tempted to have her do:

Ruchette: "Ah, so you don't want me to do that. Interesting..." *releases the Lord of Nightmares

Wow. If Raelis has to fight her, I'm not sure what I'm going to do.

For me, having weaponizable wings and a sword would be more than enough to wreck havoc. Your melee combat capability really skyrockets if you have more appendages to strike and guard with than your opponent.
