Ruchette has diamond tail and arm creation for a reason. She could create "wings" but they'd be useless for their original purpose and not nearly as good as a second set of arms in the new purpose.

Oh no, that's plenty. That plus the heat/light ability is great on Raelis.

The problem is against Ruchette the heat is pointless and she can likely defend quite a bit with her diamonds.

However, I suppose I have the speed/strength advantage on her. It would be somewhat doable, just difficult, which is fine. It'd be a challenge :P

She can, although she'd have to breathe so can't completely cover her entire face all the time. Face stabbing is just one example to get the point across. Stab any open place and he'd have the strength to pierce her natural defenses unless it's a glancing blow. She could defend well with her diamonds but has some qualities about her power that can be exploited, which his speed would be very handy in taking advantage of.

I'm glad we had this conversation. It makes me feel more like they're equals haha. I feel like we could have a reasonable fight and I wouldn't feel like it was hopeless now, which is important because my mental state influences how I write/fight/think.

Thinking about her abilities further, I see nothing besides time that would stop her from unloading all of her diamond into an iron man-like suit. That seems op, so I'll have to come up with some reason why she doesn't.

It could be personality based reason why which is a good way to stay within character as well as fun trying to work past that with other options.

I see it being fair if it was standard thickness armor. Of course anyone could wear armor like that without being OP. However, if the volume of her body was all placed outside of her body as surface area...that could get a little crazy.

EDIT: I was also thinking personality, although wearing a giant suit of diamond armor would be epic for most people. Hmm...

Wait, isn't Ruchette all about having a worthy challenge, or a challenge in general. She seems to be something of an adrenaline junky almost. If that's the case, maybe she has some subconscious limiters on her ability. Like things she just wouldn't think to do even though she's certainly creative and intelligent enough to do so. She have things she doesn't do because it'd make finding people she can actually fight even harder than it already is for her. She'd not even be aware that she has these tendencies either so you don't have to really worry about her suddenly changing her mind unless she's really pushed into a corner.

Making thick full body armor could be one of those things.

That would be a good enough excuse for this tournament. She'd have to get serious after discovering the true power that people can possess, which may include her diamond armor. She got beat real bad by one guy in her backstory but her armor wouldn't have done anything based on how fast she lost, so it wouldn't have spured her into developing such a power.

I think one Marvel villain subconciously foils all of his own plans, so it's kind of like that.
