The lightning was not particularly effective against the knight's stone body, but it did wind him as a wounded Vane turned out to be his saviour here, leaping from his position on the ground and cleaving off the head of his opponent, evening the odds once more. They had a moment to stand off with their two opponents to figure out what to do. The halberd knight had it's shield up and seemed to be trying to box them in with the help of its cohort, also holding its shield up.

Eldarin was thankful for Vane's quick assistance in equaling the odds, though they were still both wounded. What's more the two knights seemed to be intent on smashing the two of them into a corner, either with weapons or shields. That reinforced the idea that they would have to act aggressively in order to secure victory. But those shields were a formidable wall, it would be difficult to force the knights to move. What to do, what to do? Eldarin slowly backed away, gathering flames in his hand. "Any bright idea's Vane?" If he was forced to then he would hurl an explosive fireball between their heads and quickly strike when they were distracted by their heads practically exploding. Of course his hand would pay for it but he'd been planning on drinking some Ichor after this battle anyway.

"Go low!" Vane suggested as he went for the smaller of the two knights, swinging his blade at the feet and whilst not breaking them, it sent him reeling backward enough to give them a slight opening as the other knight bashed him with his shield.

Eldarin instantly responded to Vane's command, anticipating the following action and lunging forward, thrusting his sword with all his might into the throat of the smaller stunned stone knight. What's more the fire he gathered ran along the length of his sword and gathered at the point, forcibly smashing the fireball against the knight along with the blade and causing a small explosion that flung Eldarin's sword arm wide from the force. Hopefully that would be enough to finish it off and they could work on the final knight like they'd first planned.

The smaller knight's head exploded in a small shower of debris and ashes as the body slumped to the floor. Vane rose after recovering from his shield bash, now they were alone with the halberd knight, Vane began to circle one way as the knight's attentions were on him for the time being.

Eldarin barely had time for a sigh of relief and to regain his stance before Vane began circling. Eldarin imitated him, though he frequently checked to make sure he wouldn't be ambushed again, another attack like that could prove fatal. Seeing as the big knight's attention was on Vane Eldarin lunged forward yelling as he stuck, or feinted his strike. Though it would sound and appear as though he was attempting to decapitate the knight his swing would never hit and any counter attack would be quickly dodged.

The knight's head turned as Eldarin feinted his strike and the knight smashed it's shield toward him, missing him with the use of the feint. With the knight's attention off of Vane, he took the opportunity to strike, leaping and smashing his mighty blade down into the middle of the head, cracking it in half as the knight fell down on its shield. The room was still once again... and Vane took the moment to slump against the wall, fumbling on his person for the vitalizing tonic and downing some of it.

Like Vane, Eldarin made his way to the nearest wall and removed a bottle of the ichor and downed it, this time not worrying about however it might taste. He immediately gave a sigh of relief as it began to take effect and remained against the wall breathing heavily. That did not go according to plan. He'd gotten overconfident. Eldarin could imagine him stepping into the room by himself and being encircled and killed by the three knights, if not for Vane he very well could've died here.

"Well... those were some dire straights, weren't they?" Vane tried to lighten the mood a little as his strength returned and beneath his armour, his wounds were healed up. Once they were ready to move on, a door marked "Armoury" laid ahead of them.

Eldarin nodded slightly and began moving on, entering the "Armoury" with greater trepidation then before. He remembered Vane's statement about how the Ichor could be used to forge weapons. Of course that would require an actual blacksmith to be here and so far everything here had just wanted to kill them.

As they entered the armoury, it became clear this was the largest room in the entire temple. There were lines of weapon racks on either wall, training dummies standing in the midst of the room with marks of blades and clubs smashed into them. The ceiling of this room was dark as only two meagre torches lit it. In the middle of the room was a small table and chair, a desk of sorts with some parchment... and there, left behind on one of the scrolls was an old iron key.

Eldarin's eyes were drawn straight to the old key and he almost rushed for it then and there. Instead he proceeded cautiously, making sure there weren't any lurking knight or animated weapons waiting for them. Given that he would grab the key and scan the parchment on the desk to see if it was of any interest.

Vane walked in beside him, glancing around the room with a certain curiosity to him. He seemed to shiver slightly, as if he felt something... as Eldarin reached the desk, he could see from the parchments that the captain signed papers from this desk, mostly orders from the local ruler, but nothing of real interest... and just as he was about to grab the key, a large shadow from above rapidly began to descend, the owner of said shadow landing with a loud crash upon the ground and both men were confronted with a monstrous creature.
The beast itself was decked all over in suits of armour, similar to the ones the torso beasts had wrapped around their bodies. A lot of breastplates with armoured arms clinging to the floor, connecting at the neck and at the waist with one another, forming a long centipede-like body of armoured suits. At the head of this great beast was the top half of a knight, wearing a helmet with two prongs and wielding a pair of scimitars, leering down at him from below the visor of its helmet. The creature reared up slightly and let out a horrific screech, the sound of metal scraping against metal rang around the room as it announced its battle cry.

Eldarin reflexively leapt back at the appearance of the monster and he let out a gasp of shock. What the hell? Nothing he'd seen so far could hold a candle to this thing. If only- no, the key was defended by the beast and trying to get it and leave was out of the question. If they wanted the key, the only way to move forward, they would have to get rid of this thing. Eldarin spent a few moments desperately searching for a plan. The thing was massive and covered in armor, if he could heat the whole thing he might roast it alive but he didn't have that kind of fire power. Perhaps the knight was something akin to its brain, if they could just kill the knight the whole thing might die. "Vane I'll bait it, try to strike at the knight." Eldarin said quietly and began slowly walking towards the beast. His body was relaxed, he was light-footed, ready to dodge or block the attack that would surely come. All he had to do was force the beast to leave itself vulnerable enough for Vane's heavy sword to cleave into a weak spot. Failing that... Well, one step at a time.

Vane was shaking nearby to him, the knight was taken aback even more than Eldarin was, and at first, didn't seem to register what he'd said to him, clutching his sword and his armour clattering slightly. The legion advanced on Eldarin, its metal clad limbs walking in tandem so it scuttled across the ground with surprising speed. Before he knew it, it was upon him, the sword wielding part towering over him as it swung both its blades forward at him in a cross motion.

Eldarin paused a moment, confused by Vane's hesitation. There was an enemy in front of them! Eldarin had killed many times before, fought wolves, carnivorous plants, walking tress, and a giant wolf to get here. He wasn't about to stop now. Still if Vane's slowness could cost him and the sound of scuttling legs quickly alerted Eldarin to the startling speed of the monster. Reacting on instinct to the attack he knew would have devastating power behind it, Eldarin rolled backwards, taken advantage of his downward and backward momentum to move him out of the way, then his roll to get some distance. How could he beat this thing by himself? With great difficulty. "Vane snap out of it!" Eldarin barked at him, eyes locked on the abomination, awaiting its next move. This time he would counter attack. Well, probably.

Vane was still frozen as the legion closed the gap between itself and Eldarin, this time going for a forward lunge with its left blade, no way to roll back for this one. As it attacked Vane seemed to come around and return to reality.

A weaker attack! A chance to retaliate! Upon seeing his chance Eldarin immediately stepped forward and pushed into the attack, smashing his own shield into it in an attempt to block and attack and expose the knighthead to Eldarin's sweeping slash that he made in the same movement as his shield bash. Hopefully it wouldn't be quick enough to attack with its other blade or else things could get complicated.

The blade was exposed but as his blade struck the head of the legion... it didn't even flinch. The armour was too thick for him to hurt whatever it was that laid beneath. And for his folly, Eldarin suffered as the beast lashed out with its other blade, cutting him across the stomach.

Eldarin felt a single moment of utter dread as his blade clanged uselessly against the armor and only had a time for a single thought. Oops. Then he felt the blade cut into his light chain-mail, the fairly weak armor providing little protection against the un-natural force behind the swing. Eldarin spent another half-moment considering what to do. He could back out and try to figure out what to do from here, but he would slowly lose more and more blood, weakening as the monster drew in on him. His only real choice was to press on. In addition there was the faint hope that Vane would help him. Now committed to his cause Eldarin drew as much power as he could into his shield hand, an orb of flame swelling up in it. Even as it reached its full size Eldarin, still practically hugging Legion, roared senselessly and slammed the flame into Legion's head, hoping that it would have effect. If not Eldarin would be sure to suffer the full force of its return strike.
