At the end of the corridor, he emerged into a larger room, another square shaped one with torches on the walls. A door set on the far well was ajar slightly... and curiously, he could hear noise not too far away. Something of a whistling sound followed by a clank of metal on stone.
However, his way was blocked by two more statues, these two making no attempt to appear still and were making their way toward him. One held the standard sword and shield he had seen before, whilst the other was two handing a heavy iron warhammer.

Aw hells. One and one had been simple enough but a two against one would not be nearly as simple, especially considering blocking the warhammer with his new shield would likely result in it being damaged beyond use. Hopefully that odd noise wasn't very significant because he had no time to worry about it. Deciding that letting the two lead the assault would be nothing but trouble Eldarin ran forward at the two. A few steps before they would be in range he suddenly tossed the torch he held in his shield hand at the statue with the warhammer hoping it would reflexively protect its face. The next moment Eldarin hurled himself to the floor in a quick roll to dodge the expected attack from the sword statue and as he rose used the motion of his recovery to fuel a powerful swipe at the warhammer wielding statue's closest ankle. Regardless out of the outcome of the swing, given everything went according to plan, he would take a few quick steps back to gain some ground and re-asses his situation.

The sword wielder went for him in a lunge motion, which his roll thankfully avoided whilst the war hammer wielder swatted the torch away when he threw it. His sword hit the ankle of the warhammer holder quite well and it went about halfway through, just like the prior statue's wrist. When he turned away, the war hammer wielder was on him first, raising its hammer up high and swinging it down at him.

Deciding once again to rely on the offensive Eldarin rushed forward into the oncoming swing slamming his shield into his opponent and the army heavily, impacting before the hammer had a real chance to get going so hopefully diminishing the force of the blow. His shield slamming into the shoulders, head, and hammer of the statue should hopefully knock it backwards, if he was lucky even knock it prone since part of its foot was broken. In addition he moved to the side of the warhammer statue with his slam, so as to put it between him and the sword statue. If the warhammer statue was knocked down from his attack he would attempt to finish it off by hewing through its neck, much like he did the previous one. Otherwise it should still be off-balance enough for him to finish severing its foot and retreat, allowing him to turn the fight back into a 1 on 1.

The statue was quite stocky and staggered only slightly from his shield bash, but the damage he'd done to its ankle proved to be detrimental for its survival as it broke upon too much movement and toppled his stoney opponent onto its back, allowing him to promptly finish it off with a blow to the neck. It's partner, whilst Eldarin was busy with the other statue, took a lunge at him with its blade.

In his extended position to finish off the first statue he was unable to easily dodge the next statue's attack, forcing him to take the attack fully on his shield. Eldarin winced before the blow even hit, smashing against the shield and hurtling him to the side, where only a quick recovery saved him from clunking into a pillar and dazing himself. Now Eldarin had regained his feet and was ready to finish off the next statue, albeit with bruised arm and shoulder area and he was fairly confident he had a cut on his neck from the roll but no major damage. He hoped he wouldn't have to down another one of his bottles already, after all, it was only one statue at this point. Ready to engage once more Eldarin stepped forward into range, sword quickly thrusting at the statue's face. However once again, the motion stepped an inch before the statue's face and Eldarin spun to the side of the statue, on the same side as its shield, avoiding any retaliatory strike and smashing his longsword with all his might into the side of the statue's head. If it dropped its guard when no attack came the following swing should destroy its head. If it counterattacked upon receiving no blow his spin would avoid it and the following blow would strike before the statue could defend itself. Finally if the statue kept its shield in position the force of the blow would be split between the side of the shield and the statue's stone head.

The statue quickly returned to its standard pose as it continued to pursue him with slow footsteps. As Eldarin struck at it, it raised it's shield to block the blow, as his opponent's agility won the day and allowed him to get a hit in right on the thing's head. It was ready to crumble but before it went down, it took a nasty side swipe at him with its shield before its head broke apart and it collapsed onto the ground.

A grin of triumph spread across Eldarin's face as the statue crumbled beneath the force of his blow. However he paid for his laxness, caught totally unawares by the final parting blow of the statue. The shield smashed directly into his chest, slamming him to the ground even as it fell to pieces. Eldarin let out a rough cough of pain and pushed off the shield rolling onto his side. As soon as he regained his breath he checked his vials, thankfully none of them had cracked. He winced again, lazy. Eldarin looked at his potions worriedly, he wasn't sure which was more effective, the red tonic he'd gotten before coming to this place or the blood he'd drained. Feeling that perhaps the golden fluid at least had more momentary value Eldarin shrugged and took a quaff of the red stuff before carefully tucking it back away. Eldarin grabbed his torch from the floor and let out a weary sigh, this temple was proving far more trouble than he'd expected. He just hoped there weren't any of those BIG statues that would come to life. Still, there was nothing for it but to continue on.

The red tonic was not quite as effective as the ichor, but it provided him enough relief from his pain and wounds as they began to heal. It'd take time, however.
Continuing on from the square chamber, he could hear that sound again, the whistling and the metal clunking. As he entered into another square chamber, he could see a corridor leading off to the right, where the sound was coming from. There was also a door directly in front of him. The path he'd take was his to choose.

Eldarin breathed a quiet sigh of relief as the subtle healing effects of the red tonic began taking effect. It would do for now. However now he given a split in the path, one path with a strange noise, the other passing through a door into silence. Eldarin was somewhat curious as to what exactly the noise was, surely it should've attracted the attention of the statue's from earlier, unless perhaps it was their creator. If so putting it out of operation could be beneficial. Unsure of what to expect Eldarin mentally steadied himself and began heading down the pathway with the strange noise, deciding that he would come back to the doorway if it was needed.

Upon encountering the source of the strange noise, he discovered an interesting looking scene up ahead. He could see the remains of three of the statue knights upon the ground, three more were still standing, two armed with warhammers and the third bolstering a large halberd and a larger square shield. They were gathered around a figure, illiuminated in the dim light, a figure decked in silver, yellow and black. The silver was that of his unique armour, somewhat angular with sharp edges and beautiful curves, decorated all over with swirling wind patterns. He was also draped in black and yellow clothing, fluttering from his back in something of a cloak like motion, a band and cover around his helmeted head, an outfit designed to look good in the wind. In both hands he head a gleaming sharp great sword with brassy handle and a bandaged hilt. He could deduce now the sound of the clanking he heard was the sound this mighty weapon had made in contact with the enemy. As he got closer, he heard the fellow speak.
"Sally forth, stonecased guardians! No knight of Windloft shall fall before your cold eyes!" He said proudly, a voice somewhat young but brave as he swung into the attack of one of the hammer knights. He noticed the strange whistling sound was coming from his greatsword... seeing it closer, he could see the blade bizzarely had a number of rectangular holes cut into it along the middle of the blade, creating a whistling sound when it struck the air.

Eldarin looked at the scene in admiration, clearly the knight had considerable skill if he had already taken down three of the knights and was working on three more. From the looks of things he wasn't even injured. Still, anyone could use a hand against odds like those and Eldarin instinctively began moving forward to assist the man with the whistling greatsword. The warrior leapt to attack one of the knights and was promptly set upon by the other. Seeing his chance Eldarin also entered the fray, his sword lashing out, fast as a viper, at the hammer statue's vulnerable neck. "You're not alone." Eldarin called out upon the landing of his strike. Even as he moved he could feel a slight twinge of pain from his previous damage. Not enough to impair him overly, but enough to make combat uncomfortable.

Eldarin's blade struck home in the neck of the hammer statue, beheading it thoroughly as its body collapsed, earning the attention of the knight.
"Good show!" The knight complimented as he hacked his blade through the torso of the second knight, leaving only the halberd wielder between them, standing beside Eldarin and looking ready to strike again. Of course, this stone knight looked a little tougher than his fellow.

Eldarin evaluated the remaining stone statue. If his gear was any indication, then he would be a little more difficult to take down. Plus that halberd gave him the advantage of reach, making closing the gap to more effectively use his long-sword more difficult. In addition because of the bladed head, he couldn't simply block it as he could with a normal spear. Shrugging to himself Eldarin slowly began encroaching on the statue's space, circling to the left of him as he closed in, allowing the other warrior to flank him. Eldarin would patiently wait for either the statue or the warrior to make the next move, ready to evade or strike as necessary.

Vane followed his lead, flanking the other side of their opponent as it seemed to keep its eyes upon the newcomer to the confrontation. It made a mode to strike them both at once, winding up a long swipe, beginning it at Vane's side and continuing it in an arc in an attempt to hit Eldaring as well. Vane was quick to roll underneath the swing in a dodge.

Eldarin gave an internal nod of satisfaction and quickly lunged forward, into the swing so as to be hit by the base of the weapon, reducing the impact of the blow upon his shield guarding that side significantly. As he did so his sword also thrust forward at the neck joint that seemed to be these things weak spot, perhaps not so on this one but it was worth a shot.

He was able to dig into it quite substantially with his perfect block and strike attack, but the statue was quick to retalliate to him, slamming its shield into him to knock him away. However, this gave his ally time to get behind and in one mighty rising swing, he beheaded the statue and it collapsed forward onto its own weapons. The knight rushed to help Eldarin up.
"Are you alright, friend? Thank you for the assistance back there."

Eldarin grunted as he was once again sent sprawling to the ground by a shield smash from one of the stone statue's. Though his blow was insufficent to finish the deed, his ally was more than capable of taking advantage of the distraction to take care of their foe, much to Eldarin's relief. He accepted the hand readily and regained his footing. "Yes, yes. I would ask you the same but you clearly had it under control. I simply sped things up a little bit." Eldarin said with a cheery grin. "A knight of Windloft eh?" In some distant memory Eldarin thought he knew of them, but he could be mistaken. In the end it mattered little, other than that the man was a comrade, at least for now. "Could you it be that you were drawn to these parts by the Ichor as well?"

"Nonsense, an extra hand could very well have saved my skin." He assured him with a little gesture of gratitude. "Why yes, you're correct! I am on an important mission for my kingdom of Windloft. They have sent me to scout out this kingdom and learn the secrets and source of the Ichor. Just in case, you know?" he sheathed his mighty blade on his back and held a hand of friendship out to him. "The name's Vane, Vane of Windloft. And yourself?"

Eldarin sheathed in how blade in return and offered a smile as he grasped the man's hand, "Eldarin Vrus, of nowhere in particular. What do you know of Ichor so far?" Eldarin asked as he looked around casually to make sure they were safe. It could behoove him to give this man a hand, as Eldarin already had a few sample of the Ichor a mutual exchange of information could prove beneficial to them both. In addition if the man wanted to venture further into this place, then a travelling companion could make life a great deal easier.
