I think we've come to a high magic/certain types of higher technology like airships and then the magic mecha armor suits consensus.

Also, communism-based dwarves seems like a logical idea honestly. It needs to be made less directly communism and more dwarfy but it sounds pretty logical to me.

And giant magical suits of armour the size of houses. Don't forget those. :D

I actually had a weird dream about that the other night just after I read this post.

And anyway (just out of curiosity), and since someone mentioned the Romans and Dwarfish Communism earlier - what time would this world be at that would be similar to that to our own? Classical Antiquity? Medieval (early, middle, late)? Renaissance?... Baroque?

Well, high fantasy, so I'd assume medieval-based with some other influences.

i was actually think the same think with dwarfs but what think we should have is that dwarfs still have some form of currency but the dwarfs would hold it to less value then a worker going so far that as a form of payment two business owners could trade workers with one another for a certain amount of time and that there currency would only act as a stand-in for trades.

But also that there currency was latterly scrap from work projects being it Bits of metal or left over gravel as dwarfs hold work in much higher value then Gold or diamond

I don't know, the whole point of the work is to get stuff like that. ^^; And metals that are more workable to make into tools, of course. Dwarves value hard work a lot but it doesn't really make sense that they wouldn't care about the stuff the do the work to get to.

Commie dwarves sound interesting. Trying to reinvent several hundred years of economic thought on what exactly currency is supposed to represent might be a bit distracting from the important part of, say, how they're actually organised.

Communist dwarves in a medieval-feudalistic society? With semi-free market businessmen? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

Well, it'd be tweaked from real life to be more dwarfy/fantasy... and this also doesn't have to be like real world medieval times.

We've already got fantasy races, magical mecha, and airships, so, um, pretty clearly not an accurate representation of medieval times.

Also, um, any thoughts on this? Want to know if anyone likes my ideas and all. ^^;

Also, since we're doing high magic(that seems to be the consensus at least), the mecha could probably be powered by using magical means. Airships would probably use balloons made of various materials. Or floating rocks or something.

And, um, I have a few ideas to suggest in regards to some stuff.

First off, um, if anyone actually likes the whole "Inverted Black Tower" thing, it would now be called Edes Athran. It's on its own plane of existence, and in spite of it being an upside-down massive black tower, it's still incredibly malevolent and projects this malevolence onto the living world. It has no mind or thoughts or anything at all, but it's so evil that it casts a shadow into the living world. We'd have to work out what it actually does if anyone likes this idea but yeah.

Secondly, I have a deity to suggest! Her name is Ila-Nem, which is a contraction of Ila-Zenniso-Netuyem, and she is the night goddess(and chief deity) for a race of desert-dwelling humanoids. According to their creation myth, she brought down starlight and forged it into flesh and bone to create them. They are the Nem, who are a nocturnal race that resembles humans. They are extremely pale due to being nocturnal, with slightly-larger-than-most-human's, expressive red or yellow eyes and black hair. They're also very small at 3'4 to 3'5 as adults.

For Magic, High.

For Tech, it's a bit less obvious just from rankings like that, but... Medium? I'd... guess that'd be the most accommodating for airships and magic mecha without going too far.

Magic: High
Tech: Lower end of Medium, since we're dealing with medieval-like setting.

Magic: High

Tech: Medium. By which I assume there is, in fact, room to have some technology SOMEWHERE.
