[IC] Forgotten History

[Rose]

"we can't stay in bed the whole time! I wanna do stuff." she said half heartily pulling away. She couldn't help but chuckle at his childish behavior. "And as for them we invited them to come along." She added. Rolling over and proppinggget chin on his chest she started poking his face.

"Are you ready yet? It's the beach, you better not be waiting time getting all prettied up. The water will just wash it all away." he shouted back at her. As a few other guests walked by he noticed their disgusted looks about his yellin. "Yeah Yeah move it along folks." he grumbled.

[Thorned Hammer]

"Stop iiiiit". He scowled, pushing her off and away when she started poking him. " fine! Fine I'll get up and be all social...but if Tess trys another sing along I'm punching her out I swear to god! " with that he sat up with exaggerated groans and dragged himself out of bed.

Tess practically ripped the door open, coming toe to toe with Richard while wearing a dark blue bikini and holding an empty tube of sunscreen in one hand like a weapon. "Hey! It is vacation and I am a girl, I can be pretty if I want to and you don't get a say in it!" She scolded, pushing him back into the hall with the tube before tossing it behind her back in the room. "Come on let's wake the lover birds" already she was off down the hall looking for the room Rin and Marcus were sharing, barefoot and constantly brushing her hair back out of her face. There was a reason she always wore it up, but it looked better when down.

[Rose]

Smiling Rin stood up and followed him. Coming up behind him she looped her arms around his stomach and started kissing his nneck. "I promise to make it up to you..." she whispered and allowed her hands to drift downwards. Just then she heard someone bang on the door. "ugh" she groaned.

Richard grinned as Tess went off on him. He found her reaction funny and dramatic. "Calm down, you look fine." he told her while fidgeting with his cigar. After following her down the hall he leaned against the wall outside Rin and Marcus room. "blue looks good on you." he mentioned casually.

Marcus had just started to lean back to when he heard the knocking and practically growled in annoyance. "I'm gonna keep you to that promise" he sighed, glaring at the door briefly. "Or, we could pretend we're still asleep..." His expression turned mischievous, catching her habd and tugging briefly so she would follow into the bathroom.

"That's why I wear it. Shirtless looks good on you.". Tess sighed as she knocked again on the door, winking at him before waiting for an answer. " I can hear them talking...or at least Marcus, no idea how he's in a stealth kill squad the guy is loud as hell."

[Rose]

Her gaze was conflicted as she glanced from the door to him. She allowed herself to be pulled along but wasn't sure what to do. She doubted that they believed her and Marcus to still be asleep but she also wanted to have some fun alone time with him. "Well, we are a couple... So I guess they'll get the drift." she concluded as she was pulled into the bathroom.

"I do it for the ladies." he says with a mischievous grin as he holds up his arms and flexes. Holding the pose for only a brief moment he went back to standing relaxed. "Doesn't help that the walls here are kinda thin. Glad I didn't get the room beside them..." he remarked then sighed. "Alright, let's go get some breakfast and give them a little time to catch up." he suggested in a more serious tone.

"They're adults, they'll be fine.". Marcus assures her, pulling her flush against him now and nudging the bathroom door shut behind them with a click. "And we are not their babysitters."

"Well the ladies appreciate it. Yeah we might as well go eat..." Relented Tess with a final knock on the door. She turned away and looked down the hall. "All they do is go at it like rabbits...starting to get annoying".

[Rose]

"Alright but when Tess starts yelling at us for leaving her alone with Richard I'm blaming you." She teased and started kissing him. As they stumbled further into the bathroom she reached out and attempted to turn on the shower and, much to her surprise, actually succeeded.

"Us single folks complain about people like that because secretly that's all we wanna do." he remarked in his usual deep and gruff tone. Walking along side her he once again toyed with the unlit cigar in his mouth. "I don't really mind, as long as theyddon't start procreating like rabbits. Then they'd either have to drop out of the military or get boring ass desk jobs."

"Blame away, I can take it" chuckled Marcus breathlessly before busying himself with other things.

"Well us single people can hook up and have a good time without ditching friends and being super obvious about it.". Mumbled Tess, adjusting her top briefly. " are you ever gonna light that thing?" She asked him finally, never having really being find of cigars. But why just chew on it like that?

[Rose]

Richard abruptly stopped fidgeting with his cigar and went very quiet for a few seconds. Is she suggesting we hookup? No, sshe's just talking about in general. Calm down.... he thought to himself. As he continued walking he tried not to show his curiosity and slight anxiety. "Maybe I will maybe I won't, what's it matter to you?" he teased her lightly. Stepping ahead he opened the door then followed her out.

She didn't fail to notice his change in attitt, subtle as it was, but didn't dwell on it. Instead she shrugged and said "cause. It's kinda gross if you're just knawing on it all day. Thanks for the door,"

[Rose]

Stopping just outside the door he pulled a lighter from his pocket and flicked it open. Lighting it he pulled it up to his mouth and lit the cigar then returned the lighter to his pocket. "There" he said after sending a playful puff of smoke in her direction. Resting a hand in his pocket he began to walk. "So where are we eating?"

"No idea". Tess said, not seeming to motivated to really make a decision as she waved off Richard's smoke. Just then, Casper appeared out of no where and slung an arm around Tess's waist.
" how bout with us?" He suggested brightly, that winning grin of his flashing brightly in their directions. Tess brightened up at Casper's appearance, hugging him back and kissing his cheek.
"Cas! I didn't know you were gonna be here!"
"Hah, I'm not. Just passing through to visit some friends with Chad, thought I'd say hi when I saw you though". He said in way of explanation, waving a hand to Richard.

[Rose]

Richard's face went from playful and friendly to frowning. His body language and stance changed to a more serious and on guard. He hadn't expected to see them here but he had never thought of him acting so friendly with Tess. Were they a thing? He hadn't seen them together before, at least not like this. "We'd hate to delay you. I'm sure you'd much rather go ahead to see your friend." Richard said. He tried not to sound angry, but he put no effort into sounding friendly. Shifting his weight he crossed his muscular arms across his chest.

Casper turned his attention to Richard, not letting go of Tess as he did though. It was clear he was sizing him up while maintaining a cheerful expression, seeming to not be alarmed by the obvious height Rich had on him.
"No trouble at all! Little Fire cracker here is never a delay, unless she's doing it in purpose."
"One time! One! And you deserved it!". Tess laughed, jabbing Casper in the ribs lightly but he only snickered
" I've seen you around but can't say I know you're name. I'm Casper, in Banshee. You?" He asked, looking back at Rich now and extending a hand.

[Rose]

Richard caught and held Casper's gaze, not breaking it or backing down in the least. He had been a ground soldier like him for awhile, he knew what these types were like. In a lot of ways he still considered himself to be one. He knew he had size, weight, and muscle on the one, but his friend was a bit of a different story. He also knew, from experience, that just because you were bigger didn't necessarily mean you'd win. But that was all beside the point. after all he wasn't planning on fighting these guys, was he?

As he watched the exchange he bit his cigar a little harder. "Richard, recently transfered to be a Viper pilot." he answered. His demeanor stayed ridged, he wouldn't berrelaxing as long as they were here.

Casper cocked an eyebrow, keeping his hand out and up like a challenge as he listened to Richard's answer.
"A pilot huh? Shit you guys are everywhere. And how the hell are you a pilot, you're to freaking big to fit in a cockpit." His tone of voice was disarming, light hearted but his eyes were still fixed on Richard's and the curve of his lips as he talked clearly said 'shake my hand or be my bitch'.

Ground troops famously did not get along with pilots, and Cas was no exception. It was competition, animosity, and the general one upness that came in a military. Even with friends like Tess Casper still competed just in a less blatant and aggressive manner.

[Rose]

Richard stayed as he was, firm stance, arms crossed, and eyes on Casper. He could see the hand out of his peripheral but kept his eyes on Casper's. Despite having seen the gesture and knowing that he wanted him to shake hands Richard offered no inclination of doing so. "Usually it's only the ladies who are concerned about whether or not I fit..." he insinuated. "But just like with the Viper cockpit I manage to squeeze my way in." he added.

Richard was aware how his new assignment would make them feel and view him, after all he had to deal with his old squad and practically all other ground troops he knew give him hell for the change in pace. However Richard felt it was good to have experience, and if at all possible skill, in several different categories. If he were to move up in ranks it would help him significantly.

""Are we gonna stand here all morning or are we going to go eat?"

"Wow. Not at all what I was talkin about. Come on man, there's a lady present try not to be to crude" snorted Casper, lowering his hand finally and looking to Tess. "Look, clearly I'm stepping on some very insecure toes. I'll catch up with you later when you're with a less threatened guy." He said, clearly taunting Richard blatanly now that he had guessed what was bothering the other man.

Tess rolled her eyes at the stare down, much as she was flattered by it it did get to he a bit much at times. When Casper turned to her she straightened up to listen.
"Please do, you know you're the only ground grunt I can stand" she smirked, hugging him tightly and giving him another kiss. "Oh hey, Marcus is here too but he's busy with Rin right now. Room 228, if you wanna pester him."
"Aww so sweet of you, always thinking of me" grinned Casper, releasing her now. "See you later enjoy your leave Wasp." Not once did he look Richard's way during this exchange, walking away clearly still at ease back to where Chad was waiting. Chad's expression differed greatly from Casper's demeanor, if anything mimicking Richard's.

[Rose]

Richard didn't bother to say anything until the two had left. He relaxed his posture slightly but was still obviously not as at ease as before. Plucking his cigar from his mouth he tapped away the ashes then returned it to his mouth. Turning he looked at the ocean. "Go catch up with your friends. You deserve to enjoy yourself." he said without looking at her. Not waiting for a reply he began to walk.

"Are you really that much of a drama queen? Hey,what's eating at you!". Tess frowned, not chasing after him but not moving from where she stood either, hands on her hips she watched the back of his head pointedly, waiting for an answer. " catch! You keep walking away I'm gonna have to throw something at you."

Marcus was waiting for Rin out in the hall, dressed and wide awake now with a pack at his feet. It was his stained and battered field back, not nearly as full as it usually was, but it had what he needed and what he thought they might need. If there was an emergency. Practically dealing with severe paranoia in unknown spaces, he always packed for a worse case scenario.
