"No joke, I just use a bit of coconut oil." Roxy said, enjoying the attention. "I swear it works like magic on your skin and it's all natural and organic. So good for you."
"Really now? You simply MUST tell me your secrets." And she grinned, being cuddly as best she could. It was in her nature, but...she was also worried about Roxy.
Roxy grinned and cuddled back. "That is the secret. I use coconut oil for basically everything. It's especially nice for shaving. Leaves your legs like silk I swear." She lifted up her leg, shifting her sun dress aside. "Check it out."
Roxy quietly enjoyed the girl's touch, the hairs on her arm standing up straight. It had been a while since she had some physical intimacy, and she honestly missed it more than she cared to admit. "Right?" She said. "That's the magic of organic coconut oil."
Christa nodded a bit. "I need to start using that...do...do you think we'll be able to do that kind of thing, now?" She bit her lip and looked nervously into Roxy's eyes.
Roxy looked back at her, lips pursed in thought. She hadn't considered that, but she wasn't sure if running water would even work much anymore. "I don't know." She said. "I mean I guess things'll work for a little while. The world is pretty automated after all. But, I guess eventually things will get tighter." She smiled lopsidedly again. "But I say we cross that bridge when we come to it. For now we have more immediate things to focus on."
She nodded and closed her eyes. "We have a purpose...this place should reveal it, I hope." She tried to sit up, but Roxy was pretty latched on. This made her laugh a little. "I need to get up, silly."
Roxy snickered and tightened her grip. "Nah. You're here forever now!" She gave a mock evil laugh and then opened her arms. "Nah, I'm just messing with you."
She blushed, thought it over a minute, then suddenly kissed Roxy on the cheek before hurrying off the the alter. She crouched and closed her eyes, kneeling and softly praying for a "Sign".
Roxy paused a moment, somewhat frozen in place and cheeks flushed red. She slowly raised a hand to the cheek and swallowed hard, smiling to herself. Things might not be so bad after all. She thought, sitting up and looking over to where Christa knelt. She chuckled quietly to herself about the idea that a couple of queer girls and a big Russian had been spared from the rapture. It sounded like a bad joke without a punchline. So two lesbians and a big Russian man walk into a bar. She laughed slightly and sat back in the pew, wishing she could think of a punchline.
"She's praying. Hoping to find some kind of sign or direction or really anything I guess." She said. "I don't really know what to believe anymore, but if there's something that gives her hope, I'm sure as hell not gonna get the way of that."
Roxy nodded enthusiastically. She usually didn't eat much for breakfast but after yesterday she was ready to make an exception. "Yes please." She smiled.
She nodded. "Fight." is all she said, then she got back to it. Fight what, Father? She wasn't trying to be rude, ESPECIALLY to Roxy, but she needed to understand this.
