Janet grew up listening to the music of her namesake. She wasn't exactly pleased to be named after a famous musician, but she did like the music. So she didn't throw a fit over it and just went on with life. It wasn't until she turned 16 that she discovered that she was a sonomancer with a natural aptitude for Combat, at which point she began regarding her name as ironic. Only a few months after her birthday, she received the letter confirming her acceptance into the AMG, which she didn't remember applying for. She wasn't going to turn down the opportunity, though, so she went. Despite having been a student of the AMG for almost 4 years, she's still coming, as there's a lot she feels that she has left to learn.
Other: Janet calls herself Arianna. She's a strong-willed, sassy woman who doesn't like playboys; anyone trying to flirt with her does so at their own risk.

Background: Benedict is the only Influence sonomancer in a long line of Empaths, but he is also a very powerful sonomancer, so his family wasn't concerned or angry. His mother was a teacher at AMG, so he was accepted as soon as his sonomancy developed at age 11. When he graduated, he chose to stay on as a teacher, and now teaches a class for beginning Influence sonomancers.
Other: Benedict prefers to be called Mr. Foster in class, but he doesn't mind students calling him by his first name outside the classroom. He's a manipulative liar, but a charming one, and has a rather snarky wit that comes out sometimes.

Decker stands at 6'2 and could be considered intimidating if he had bulging muscles and a scowl that curdles milk. Fortunately he has neither and instead has slim, wiry muscles built up from a focus on personal health rather than bulk and it would be difficult not to see him without a genuine smile on his face. Decker's choice of attire are simple things like graphic tees and worn out jeans, however it isn't unheard of for him to wear the school uniform in a unorganized mess.

Background:
Decker's parents had a very hands off approach to raising him, something that lead to many ups and just as many downs. However the past is what it is and in the end, Decker turned out all right. Growing up in a rock household did much in forming his tastes, Dio AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Motley Crüe, Black Label Society, and Iron Maiden just to scratch the surface. As a child of rock and sonomancers the guitar came easily to Decker, the energy of it just completing a part of him that he had never look to complete. Feeding this passion was his idol, Jeffrey Wielandt A.K.A. Zakk Wylde. As Decker grew and learned he was eventually invited to AMG and has been a student for several years now, picking up not only the acoustic guitar but also the drums and the didgeridoo after spending some time in Australia.

Background: Akira always had a taste for fast music since he was young, apparently because she was exposed to such music from their parents, mostly unintentional in their defense. The taste wasn't blatant until he was around 13.

However, his ability subtly manifested itself when he was 12, as was recovering from minor bone fractures which didn't take a long time to recover, he could feel the other's pain, slowly depressing himself as he sensed the suffering of others, trying to think of something to do for them but eventually giving up, as he believed miracles doesn't exist.

However, his definition of "miracle" got changed after a year, when he was told a slightly wounded friend of his recovered unnaturally quickly while the friend was listening to Akira playing a song, which made the player apply the word "miracle" to the situation, with the "miracles" happening when he was playing songs.

Although he could sense his songs and the "miracles" might be related to each other, he did not know how it did until he got a letter, apparently from "the Academy for the Musically Gifted". He initially dismissed the letters as a prank, but the letters kept coming in, with each letters attempting to prove it isn't a joke. Soon, he gave in, with his parents agreeing soon after their child did.

Kristi always had the ability to sing ever since she was a child, but didn't notice her Sonomancer abilities until she was around ten years old. She didn't take much note of it until she started to sense the emotions of everybody around her. Happiness, Sadness, Joy, Anger, Fear and even Sickness! To get her mind off singing, she started to become a massive nerd by watching anime and manga, even playing video games at some points. She always loved the music and the drama in each series that she watched/read/played. Kristi thought that there was something wrong with herself due to her ability to manipulate emotions and sense them, but when she was sixteen she heard about the academy of musically gifted. Maybe it had something to do with her ability to manipulate emotions? But nonetheless Kristi then applied for the academy, and eventually got the letter of acceptance.

Kristi then got really eager to go into this academy, and showcase her vocals to the entire school.

Name: Akira (Aki) Okura

Personality: Aki is a brash, rebellious girl who has "Issues with authority" as teachers and parents would tell her, but she personally prefers to say that she doesn't take shit from anybody. She is naturally distrustful of people, more so of people who have any form of command over her. This is because she sees that power ultimately corrupts if a person has power for a long enough period of time. She is also very vengeful and impulsive, so if you cross her, be prepared to get your comeuppance in a timely manner. If she decides that you are to be trusted, and can be her friend, she will have endless amounts of loyalty for you, to the point where she will do anything to protect you, or avenge you if you feel that somebody has trespassed against you. Her basic moral standards stem from the idea that you should only be restricted on doing what can directly cause physical or emotional harm to other people. Lying, cheating, or directly harming anybody are the major things that she has issues with. Beyond that, a person can do most anything, be it act impolite, swear, or act like a slob, she'll accept a person for whoever they are, as long as they do no harm.

Though she does have a very strong personality, she does have a certain charm about her. She's very good at getting her way, or at least getting herself out of trouble. She's found that she can do mostly whatever she wants, and then talk her way out of any trouble she may have gotten herself into.

Specialization: Influence

History: Aki comes from a very strict home, one which has rules for how to act, speak, and that set a tight schedule and curfew for her. Her parents are affluent, but not from hard work, but from the luck of being from a long linage of very rich people. Neither of them have ever worked a day in their life, and want that to be the same for their daughter. However, they have been turned cruel, unforgiving, and cold from their lifestyle. Though they preach proper behavior, they fail to practice it. Since she was a very little girl, whenever Aki made a mistake, she instantly reprimanded. At first it was a gentle reminder that she wasn't acting proper, but as she was young, she couldn't help but wonder why she was supposed to act they way her parents wanted her to. When she asked, she received the typical, "I told you so." and that never worked for Avi. She needed a reason not to do something, so she would continue on acting how she wanted. This was seen to be callous of her, for her to so openly defy her parents wishes, so then they started to punish her for not listening to her. Grounding her for weeks for simple mistakes, like not saying please and thank you, or even locking her in her room for a night if she did something overtly bad. She hated the situation she was in, so she found a way out. She resolved to control herself completely around her parents, but to act out when she was no longer their watchful eye at school, or when alone with friends. This relationship with her parents was when she first realized that power will corrupt all who have it, as it had with her parents.

When she turned ten, she realized her affinity for Music, specifically with Piano and Violin, though you're lucky to hear her play it. Her parents had made her take up the two instruments at that age, and she picked both of them up with ease, though she holds great disdain for the violin, seeing it as drab and much too classical. She prefers to play Jazz music, and has even started composing some of her own.

It wasn't long before she realized that her music could influence people, finding that if she talked about things while she played, most people would find themselves agreeing with whatever she was saying. She was honestly slightly repulsed at this revelation, deciding to use it as little as possible. She saw it as a kind of cheating, and that it was at least very immoral.

In school, she doesn't have many friends, buts that's a consequence of her unwillingness to give anybody second chances, or budge her personal standards for how she expects they should act. If a person lies, betrays, or wrongs her even once, it is borderline impossible for that person to convince her to like them.

Other: She works very hard to keep up a good girl facade in front of her parents, to the point where she's a completely different person. When she's with her parents, she's polite, courteous, and obedient. Her parents have no idea how different she is when they aren't around.

Naito grew up in a peaceful town, with her little brother and her parents. Her little brother (Hizachi) is three years younger than her. She started taking violin lessons when she was six. When she was seven, she started playing her violin to calm her little brother to sleep. Three years later, she realized that her music could actually calm him. Her brother would have anxiety attacks whenever their parents were yelling at each other. Her parents yelled at each other so constantly, and Naito was playing her violin almost 24/7 for her brother. She began to teach him the language of music, and one day he told her that she could feel how angry their parents were when they were fighting, and how sad she was when she heard them.
Five years later, their parents got a divorce. It got even worse when a three weeks after the divorce, their mother was killed in a fire at work. Hizachi told Naito about the feelings that were radiating off of their father. He sat near the window, looking out at the flower garden that their mother had always tended to.
Naito found out a year later about the academy, and she and her brother fled to the school.
