The queen sat upon her throne, watching down the room, listening to the various people at court. The soft sound of whispers and laughter and flirtation were something she was accustomed to. After being queen since she was 16, she still enjoyed seeing the romance and flirtation between couples. Spring time was here, and as always, she found that the ladies in court seemed to bloom the same time as the flowers did around her country. She gave a small yawn, and instead of sitting upright with the proper dignified posture, she let herself stretch out, lifting her legs to go over the side of her throne, her ankles just barely showing at the end of her gown. She leaned against the back of the throne at an angle, trying to get comfortable. She sighed, and glanced up at the enchanted ceiling, put in place so many years ago by one of her ancestral queens, and was satisfied to see the sky outside was still clear blue, and that there was still a breeze pushing the few fluffy clouds about in the skies outs.
"Oh how I wouldn't mind to have the attention the clouds get from the breeze, even that would suffice for the time being," she said quietly to herself. She eyeballed the empty throne across from her, and kicked her small pale rose slippers onto the empty cushion. She gave a little laugh, imagining her mother's reaction if she were to see her with her little bare feet out infront of the court. She shook her head at the thought, reminding herself she was queen, and had bee for several years, so if she felt like removing her slippers, in private or not, she could.
She noted with a start that when she had shook her head, her pearl rose shaped pins had fell from her hair, letting the half of it that was put up in a bun atop her head come loose and fall down. She dually noted her hair was getting longer, and once again was nearly to her hips. She picked up her pins and slipped them in her gown pocket, hidden in the sleeves of the pale pink gown. None the less, she was glad to be comfortable, and that her court was at ease, picking up the usual Spring flirtations and romances. If only my husband were here, to give me some company...even if it meant talking about the crops of his country or the risk of bandits in the forest, it would be worth just a glance from him. She shook her head once again, reminding herself she was the queen, she was in power in this land, and looked ahead at the wide open doors at the other side of the room that led to the grand entrance room.
