Or just do well enough and make an interesting match. Win or lose if you drag a duel out long enough for the crowd to be entertained, you either both have no idea what you're doing, or are so good you're both countering each other tick by tick. Then it just becomes luck of the draw.

OBJECTION! 4000 lp is way to fast, it would turn the game into a rush down. What about those people who like stall decks? no love for the stallers...

I personally prefer 8000. Especially for my archfiends who will bleed me dry in a couple turns if we're at 4000.

While 8000 makes drawing 1 card and losing 1k LP at the EP if I set everything down in backrow much much more broken, I think 4k is a fair amount of LP to use to avoid stalling tactics and having everything 'finish' a bit more anime-like. Not requiring everyone to take 12 turns to win is good. It also makes "paying costs" and beefing up your monsters to be very dangerous since anything with over 4k attack in a direct attack wins you the game. But both players know this so anything with over 2k attack which does 50% damage in a direct attack would be almost instantly targeted for destruction.
