As far as I know, you got the impression of WWD perfectly fine and correct. However, it's exactly when the world is all fucked up and all hope is lost that people tend to give in to their vices. In Maria's case, they are basically feeding and bedding girls who fancy her interest.

It's true that people tend to give in. It's just that as writers, we won't inflict on our characters the ramifications that such actions would really have. The characters, having given into their vices, won't consider the consequences, but if order for the affair to have any meaning in a world like this, reality must ensue. In that graveyard I imagined, it's far likelier that even if the couple do survive the waves upon waves of vermin-stricken abominations that attack them, one or both will now have a terminal disease and one may give birth to a Great Old One. But stuff like that won't happen because no permanent bad stuff can ever happen to player characters. Believe me though, I long to be proven wrong.

All that bothers me is people using this RP as a platform for meaningless fetishy love stories, instead of treating it like the story such an awesome premise deserves to be.

Two red marks tends to not be a good thing. I think you're taking the "fetish" thing too seriously. From my understanding, people are just joking. Of course all of the characters are going to react appropriately to the horrific situation they find themselves in (they have so far in the IC). However, just because the characters are in a death world doesn't mean they can't have relationships with one another.

And if some budding romance arises from it, then so be it. If it's not your thing, then leave it alone and others will respectfully not include you in it. As KoL said, you don't have to do anything if you don't want to. As for nothing bad happening to player characters, that's subjective. Obviously if your character is going to do something stupid like provoke a Lovecraftian monster, they're going to lose a few limbs and some pieces of their mind in the IC.

You extended this argument way past the point it has any meaning. A story has only one purpose, which is being fun. As long as it fulfills this there's no such thing as a wasted premise, just an evolving story, specially when it's a player driven narrative.

True, I'm mostly waiting for the others to post since I wanted them all to get through the first trial together. I'll wait for roughly another day before implementing your suggestion.

As for killing another character, I believe that's covered in the rules. But if it's not (cause my memory is faulty) your character can kill another character only if both of those character's RPers agree to it and plan it out. Furthermore, certain choices can and will lead to character deaths. However, I will inform you when such a choice will arise and try to put as many warning flags as I can. After all, I want to draw out the suffering, and that means not killing you off too quickly.
