Probably inspired beacuse I do like the series quite abit granted I never truly got into the series until about 3 months ago (still on thriller bark arc) but I did alot of reading and know a decent chunk I'd say. So anyone probably don't whanna hear about my boring reasons on why I got my rp idea probably more interested on the topic.

OK So here is my idea...

besides the obvious of a role play in the one piece universe my idea is I guess you could say mildly risky as my idea for the most part is an rp that would take place at the start of the anime's first arc upto impel down and then of course beyond as pure original idea's that would of course barely mention the canon story. So for the most part your characters might hear about crocodile's defeat or Enies lobby being destroyed.

For the most part ill leave what happens early on open ended but there will be events meant to specifically lure everyone's characters to a certain spot like example maybe a legendary treasure location has surfaced or there's a devil fruit you want that is conveniently discovered.

Thats the plot for the most part mostly just freely exploring with me making points of interest. It will get more structured as we go on though especially if a crew get's formed between members which i do hope happens.

Anyway now I'm going to talk about characters and limits on them. You can potentially be anything you want but the four main options are Pirate, Marine, Bounty Hunter or Adventurer. For the most part your characters base abilities will be based off what your character is as a profession or self proclaimed title.

And here are my definition of the main 4 I said and their limit's/strength's

1. Pirate. For the most part you don't care much for what the government says or law's and do what you like if your a pirate your allowed to start in pirate crew or at the very least a ship around the size of the going merry.

Strength's: at start can be as strong as about a 15 million bounty so thats about as strong as buggy but less lame. You can start with a devil fruit power but I forbid Logia type devil fruit due to it'd make you instantly super strong also you can potentially have anything seen in the show just change the name and make it slightly different.

Weakness: You constantly have Marines and bounty hunters out for your head so expect alot of ambushes. if your bounty gets high alot of towns will call marines on you so your not safe.

2. Marine to be blunt dogs of the government mostly law abiding though some are still pricks.

Strength's: Always part of a crew that will be actually of my original creation. starting strength unfortenutly is the third highest forcing you to be no stronger the Morgan (the guy luffy recked very early in the series). You can learn the "six powers" seen in the Enies lobby arc much quicker then any of the other character types can.

Weakness: off the top my head only that you have the least freedom everything is upto the leader of your crew who by the way is an original vice admiral and his only objectives will be any point of interest I have show up or any of the pirate characters with big bounties.

3. Bounty Hunter either you hate pirates, love money or just want to eat and don't consider yourself one but regardless you hunt criminals and pirates.

Strength's: believe it or not the strongest of the four choices as your starting strength is allowed to be equal to what Zoro's was at the beginning. alot of freedom if not the most since you dont really have any enemies.

Weakness: you dont really have a boat so communal transportation for you so either steal one, join pirates or buy one.

4. Adventurer the jack of all trades type of character though pretty boring over all.

Strength's: Start with small boat (one room and a sail). You also regardless of starting point get a free log pose.

Weakness: The weakest of the four since your mostly just a normal person who wanted to explore so your probably not much stronger then Nami or Usopp early on anyway.

Thats really it on those thats for the most part for helping make characters if you want to join anyway. anyway if questions feel free to ask or even give idea's beacuse I mean if this isn't that great I can always try again maybe with a different direction.

@Cerberus0807 I'm interested! I myself currently at the end of the series, waiting for new chapters to pop up. Either way, you should actually limit the type of devil fruits that exist. Even if it's not Logia, there are lots of overpowered devil fruits such as Zoan-type Golden Buddha or Phoenix that Marco has. Also, One Piece RP is a tough roleplay in terms of battles. How do you judge battle? Cause there's no stats here.

@zellected well battles for the most part would be based on a few things first of all overall abilities so if someone has an overwhelming advantage 9 out of 10 times they'll win. But for characters made by me I'll be the judge of how fights go so for the most part ill handle it like most Rp's you do your action for the post and I decide how successful it is.

But I do plan on having abit of a stat system though it'd be more of a rating of 1-5 and the stats would be

Endurance: basically health higher it is less likely you will get defeated quickly
Strength: How much damaged your attacks inflict.
Speed: Your characters ability to dodge and land hit's this will affect how likely I let your hit's land so it handles dodging for the most part.
Defense: How much damage you absorb if your defense is higher then your opponents strength chances are they wont do much.

thats roughly how it'd work it's just so I can make decisions on how fights against the current antagonist fought. Also I'll be honest if you ever do player vs player fights I'll actually for the most part leave that upto you just agree on a winner and make it as interesting as you want can be a one punch if you want. Oh also if a pirate your bounty roughly determines your strength so say what your bounty would be even if your a non pirate character so there's a rough estimate.

also for the 4 character types I named a rough starting amount for each would be

Bounty: hunter 14-18 million
Pirate: 13-15 million
marine: 11-13 million
Adventurer: 10 million

Oh also yeah you can use white beards devil fruit wont care but if want his exactly need to wait until his death otherwise just create your own variant with a different name. It isn't too broken just tremors can be handled.

Yeah, I'm still interested, I've been debating if I wanted to be a fruit user or not, because not being able to swim is a really big setback for me. Think I could be a fishman?
