[IC] The Beastly Curse (we still need people)

Once upon a time, in the land of Starlynn, there were ten princes that lived in a beautiful castle. These ten young men had everything their hearts desired and they were spoiled by their parents, the king and queen of the kingdom. These boys started out very loving and they wanted to find someone to share that love with. Princesses and other high ranking members of the kingdom came and tried to win the hand of these princes, but all were turned down.

Then, one day, the king and his queen became very ill and died, leaving the ten princes to the care of the servants of the castle. It was then that these ten princes locked themselves in their castle and refused to be seen by any but the castle staff. To those outside the castle walls, the boys became cold and distant, but the servants knew the boys were really kind on the inside, if only they would let others in.

One night, while the princes were dining, a knock came on the castle doors, something that had not happened in a long time. The oldest of the princes got up from the table and made his way to the door, opening it to find what appeared to be an old woman dressed in a shabby looking cloak.

"May I please have shelter from this biting cold and some food to fill my starving stomach? I would think such a beautiful castle would be a good place to rest my weary bones,"the old woman requested.

"I am sorry, old woman, but you cannot stay here. We do not want to have to deal with any guests at this time,"the eldest prince told the woman coldly. He was just about to close the door in her face when a blinding light formed around the woman and she was magically transformed into a beautiful woman with flowing black hair.

"You could not give an old woman a place to stay, so now you and all those in your household will suffer for your actions. Everyone of the princes in this castle will become some kind of creature, be it a beast, a vampire, a werewolf, a demon, or some other kind of creature that people fear. All of the servants who are in this castle will turn into some kind of animal and only you, your siblings, and any special young ladies who come here will be able to understand them. All ten of you princes will need to find your true love in no more than five years or you will be like this forever. Also, when you find true love, you and your love will decide if you want to return to being human or want to become the creature you will become,"the woman explained.
Then she touched the wall of the castle and the whole castle began to glow, changing the inhabitants within.

Now the princes must find their true love before it is too late and they need to open up to that special person.

The pitter patter of Maisie's paws could be heard in the empty hallway as she cleaned with a duster in her mouth. She was bored and there was much to do. She and the other servants tried to keep the castle clean even though they were now stuck in the forms of animals. She hoped soon some girls would be brave enough to come enter the castle. there were girl's who had visited before but were scared off by princes' monstrous appearances or fear of the servants who were now animals.

Naveah lay on the floor in her cursed Red Panda body, paws on a book and obviously reading. For outstanding it must be a werid scene, seeing an animal read a book. But everybody knew the stories about this castle and it's cursed princes and servants. Naveah was such a servant. She didn't really like being caught in this animal body, but to her surprise she was living really well with it considering the circumstances.

The girl - animal? - was reading love stories up and down since the curse had token over them. It was the only thing that kept her hoping for a normal life again. In all those books there seemed to be so much deep loving and caring, she was sure someday somehow someone would realise all princes from their spell and set the servants free as well.

Faris sat in his corner of the house, hugging his knees to his chest. Although he didn't really have a three dimensional body, he was simply a shadow on the wall. He yearned to look out the window, but from the wall everything was simply a dark haze, and there was only one boarded up window in the attic. He was scared to go anywhere else in the castle, all of his brothers just wanted to use him. So he sat alone in his corner (literally inside of the corner), and thought. He liked to make up stories. There was nothing else to do to pass the time as a shadow on the wall. Sometimes he would act them out by manipulating the shadows on the wall to dance out his fairy tales, only for his own amusement.

[BlackPanther]

Hachi's hooves click as he walks through the halls. His head is held high as he walks, a small amount of rabbit blood is seen on the corner of his mouth and his ears flick. He seems rather neutral today which is good. Being in a bad mood never goes well for the others in the castle. He pauses somewhat as he smells some of the servants. He yawns and keeps walking. He feels that out of all his brothers he got the short end. He was stuck walking around in four legs and looking literally like some sort of monster. At least the youngest still has a humanoid form....he shakes his head again and keeps walking his hooves clicking and echoing throught the halls.

Grey was enjoying himself by playing pranks on everyone in the house. He often enjoyed his new found powers which did tend to annoy his other brothers. Most of which thought Grey would remain in his form if to keep them. They would be wrong though. Grey did desire a womans love and saw that as amusing as this form was, being human again would make achieving that much easier. He also desired the entertainment of normal people in the city. He wasn't the most well received, but he did have his friends and he began to miss them as well. He did hide it well, but he also felt for the mansion as well. He saw how his brothers and the servants dreaded their forms and would do what he could to help reverse the curse.

Although in the mean time he would do his best to forget the dreads of the curse and find a way to enjoy it. He thought distracting others would be good for them as well. So today's folly consisted of sneaking around the ceiling and then dropping down above the unsuspecting victim. He only did it to frighten them and wouldn't ever do harm. He had already done this to Hachi and Maisie. The first gave very little reaction and merely questioned his stupid brother's actions. Hachi was a difficult case to pull out of his slump. Hachi's negative reaction didn't discourage Grey from continuing though. His next target Maisie gave a delightful reaction. As he dropped behind the little fox she turned around and gave a shriek dropping her duster from her mouth. Her heart racing and annoyed she told Grey off.

His newest target was Naveah. The Red Panda was off in who knows what world her book had taken her. She was thoroughly engrossed with it, but Grey still chose to use his abilities to sneak up on her. He found a spot on the ceiling above her and teleported there. Preparing himself he then dropped down right in front of her and continued to sink until he had placed his head right in her book. As his head landed he also innocently added, "Hello Naveah. How are you today?"

The Red Panda was deep in her own world. The book had taken her far away from all this misery of the curse. That was until something black-ish dropped in front of her face, scaring her to death. Naveah was up on her feet in a heartbeat, a yelp coming from her lunges and her fur standing in all directions from fear. It took her about three seconds to realise that the prince had pranked her.

"Grey!", she scolted him. "I was just about to rip your feathers off! Be careful who you scare!" Even though being pretty angry with the prince, who just used to interrupt her in a good scene from the book, she couldn't hide her amusement. She must have looked pretty crazy, jumping like a scared cat.

The former girl sat down and looked at the prince in front of her. "I am fine today. That was until you almost made me murder you. Can I do something for you, majesty?"

[Belle]

The young woman pulled the hood of her cloak down and looked thoughtfully at the large castle before her. It had been a trying journey. She had lost count of how many places she had asked for work. All either didn't need help or wanted her for tasks that were unmentionable. When had the world gotten so cruel?
Her father's face weighed heavily on her mind. How are you Papa? She asked herself. Are you well? Do you think of me? I miss you Papa...

Belle put her shoulders back and tried to right her appearance as much as possible. She had been robbed along the way, thankfully the man had only been interested in her few coins and not her body. He had taken her money and her few possessions, leaving her with the clothes on her back and the shoes on her feet. He had looked like he had been hungry and cold for a long time so Belle hoped it was desperation that had driven him to rob her and not an evil heart. She also hoped that things became better for him. She couldn't be angry or resentful when she thought that her money had helped to feed someone hungry.

She frowned at the mud on the hem of her dress and cloak. Her hair was falling from it's braid and her cheeks from probably red from walking in the chilly air. All things considered not the best impression, but all she could do was try.

Reaching the large doors, she noted that it was oddly quiet. Perhaps no one lived here? Perhaps it was a summer home for some important Lord or Lady?
Lifting the heavy knocker she let it drop twice, the loud bangs sounding harsh as they echoed into the castle beyond.

Chuckling at Naveah's threats and sarcastic titles, Grey backed off and sat in a nearby chair. "No, I don't need anything. I just need you to not murder me. I'm sure that's hard at times. I really just came to see how you are doing. You don't seem to be taking the curse as hard as others, but appearances can be decieving. So how are you really doing?" As Grey finished his question, faint knocks could be heard that were echoing through the castle. "Company? We have company? We never have company." He jumped out of the seat and began to race through the castle to the main entrance. He slowed down and stopped at the staircase to see who would be coming into the grand lobby.

Maisie growled as Grey flew off to find himself a new target. She was about to continue dusting till she heard the knocking. She blinked in confusion for abit, she wasn't to sure if it was Grey playing another trick on her. She decided to give it a benefit of the doubt. She raced toward the doorway of the grand entrance, When she a feet away from the door she jumped and her paws landed on the handle hearing the door click open she swung herself so that the door swung open. She squirmed abit as she realized that she was stuck between a wall and the door.

[Benzaiten]

Naveah didn't get a chance to reply to prince Grey's questions. A loud knock on the grand entrance echoed through the silence. Naveah's ears went straight up to listen to anything else. It could be a prank, but her hope was up for some true love to finally come along and get this awful curse off of their shoulders.

The prince seemed as much as excited as surprised. He began racing through the castle to the main entrance and Naveah followed him neatly. She stopped to peek around a corner, not wanting to be seen by their visitor just yet.

Maisie opened the door rather creatively and then was stuck between the door and a wall. Naveah wanted to help her, but the open door revealed a pure beauty. And she was human. And she looked nice enough. Please save us all. The eyes on the woman, she kept her tail high in hope.

Faris gasped as the knock echoed through the halls. He had become so accustomed to living on the walls, he could now see things through the shadows. He peered into the entryway while still staying safe in the attic. Someone was actually here. His hands shook. She was fair, even if she was a little worse off out in the rain. He hoped someone would let the poor girl in. He didn't care about himself, his time for love hadn't come, but perhaps she could thaw one of his brother's hearts.
"Please." he whispered, barely audible in the attic.

[Belle]

Belle shivered a bit from the chilly rain as the door opened. She had a smile ready for whoever had been kind enough to open to her.
Her smile faltered as she saw no one.
"Hello?" she called gently before shivering again and stepping inside to get out of the rain. "Is someone there?"

No one responded, so she stepped farther in. The entry wall looked clean and well kept but rather dark. A puzzled frown came over her face. Someone had opened the door. It hadn't blown open.
Looking down she realized her cloak was dripping on the floor. "Oh," she muttered and removed her cloak, folding it up.
Clearing her throat, she tried again to speak to whoever was here. "My name is Belle. I apologize for my appearance. I was robbed a ways up the road and..." She stopped herself when she realized they probably didn't care about that. "I came looking for work. Would you please speak to me?"

The sound of scuffling came from behind the door. Belle approached cautiously. She gasped a bit when she saw the beautiful white fox.
"Are you stuck? Oh, poor girl. At least I think you are a girl. Here," Belle said gently and moved the door so the animal could get free. "You are so beautiful. I've never seen a white fox before," she continued in a soft gentle voice. "Don't be scared. I won't hurt you," she assured the fox, getting to her knees and offering her hand for the animal to smell. "Do you know who lives here?"

[BlackPanther]

Hachi hears the knock and flicks his ears. His hooves echo as he walks over there he then stops behind the girl and decides to speak to her through telepathy. This is a general telepathy which is like speaking out loud. So anyone close enough can hear him.
hello belle. Do not be frightened but you are talking to one of my servants]
he sounds rather amused and he rarely speaks now a days so this should be interesting. His ears remain pricked up as he watches her back and luckily the blood that was on his mouth is gone. He wonders how frightened she will be of him. If she will run and scream or become fascinated...after all she was asking who lived here...and work. [if you are looking for work then I'm sure I can come up with something for you]

[Marcus XVI]

It was cold and wet - and getting dark to boot. Ramia had managed to literally get lost in the woods - a fact that made her more than slightly annoyed. Still she managed to for now keep her cool while trudging along a path. Soon her keen eyes caught something in the distance - a castle! Admittedly she had not been informed of any sort of a castle nearby. With a little grimace the black haired woman adjusted the cloth bundle on her back and began walking faster. The less time she'd have to spend in the dark and cold the less she'd have to rely on her powers of fire to dry herself up.

Aria meandered through the trees, running her fingers along the rough bark. She truly loved the forest. The leaves, the scent of dirt, it was a beautiful place. Aria didn't really mind the rain. She was plenty warm in her coat and he had her hood pulled up to cover her face. Maybe she will see something magical today? Who knows.
Aria came across a break in the trees only to see a castle. Amazed, Aria has never seen a castle before. Only in the books she has once read. The girl slowly walked out of the trees towards the towering building.

Nyra woke up to prince Hachi's voice. She rubbed her eyes with her small thumbs and yawned. What did he say? Was someone new here? Excited the bat flew off of her perch and made her way towards the entrance hall.

A strong figure appeared from nowhere. Prince Lenwood, in his creature form, would spend his time around the hall, where the guests of the castle stepped on first after they opened the majestic castle door. He waited patiently for the prophecy day when the prince would have the chance to turn back into human. The fire that surrounded his body lit the entire hall and radiated warmness that could be felt by every single creatures. Footsteps could be heard from the outside, and Lenwood's blood rushed around as he felt the once-a-lifetime excitement once again. It would be a different experience for him and he hoped he could escape the curse soon.

[Belle]

The voice in her head made her gasp, her hands instinctively going to either side of her forehead.
"What...? How..." she stammered before turning around in shock. She swallowed a scream at the sight before her.
A beast. That was the only way it could be described. She had never seen an animal like this before, couldn't have described it to another. She instinctively took a step back and remembered the fox behind her. Planting her feet firmly in the beast's path she shielded the little fox. She was not about to let it tear the beautiful little fox to shreds.

"Hello? Whoever just... spoke to me? If this creature is also one of your servants please do not let him hurt this little fox," Belle called out, hoping whoever was making the voice in her head would call of the creature. If it did decide to attack at least the fox would have a chance of getting away.

Nyra noticed one of the princes ahead of her. On closer inspection she realized it was prince Lenwood. She swooped down and skidded across the floor, spinning out. Landing on hard surfaces was not her forte.
"Good day, prince Lenwood! Have you come to inspect the new visitor? I heard your brother speaking to her."
Nyra clawed her way over to him.

Aria stayed away from the door to the castle, wondering whats around on the outside. She ran her fingers along the cold stone, thinking about how old the fortress was.

Now seeing two more of his brothers appear to the young woman, she must be frightened out of her mind. He was going to approach her, but he noticed that it was Hachi that had decided to approach her. Not wanting to scare the girl anymore and pretty sure that Hachi was communicating with her, he turned away back down the castle hallways. He wasn't sure what to feel. His happiness for Hachi was most prevalent, but there were traces of jealousy and sadness as he wanted a princes as well. A good walk was normally the best way for him to deal with things of this nature, so he walked to the window at the end of the hall and dropped out of it. He knew it was raining, but he didn't care much about that. He was dressed in what he thought was rather boring garb. Wearing a plain white button shirt and a pair of bland trousers. Unfortunately for him, his prank unknowingly worked again. He dropped feet away from the unsuspecting Aria. Her reaction alerted him to her presence. "No! Please don't be scared. I'm sorry. I'll leave. Just please, don't leave. I'm sorry."
