[OOC] APEX: The Peak of Humanity

The Outsider

Antonias, the Outsider

Kronans/The Outsiders - A race existing in an entirely different world than the other races, for they exist between the fabric of space where they interact little with any of the other races. A world incomprehensible by mere science or magic, the Kronans existed where life should not exist and continue to do so by the rules of life. In the empty void, the Kronans exist and observe those who live in space before using magic before piercing the fabric of space itself to traverse outside of the void. Thier appearance outside of the void startled many and their presence echoed the universe boasting a surprising natural affinity to technology and advancing quickly, melding science with magic.

Appearance:
Entering out of the void, the Kronans looked as the light reflected off their bodies for the first time, revealing their true selves for the first time in a long time. Being taller than the normal humans, the stand around 6'5 and varies around that height and their bodies lithe and slim due to their height. The most notable trait they hold is the uncanny resembalance of ravens, having a face that seems to be glued with a mask with a beak. The pitch-black feathers only solidify the resembalance they have over the birds, as the feathers drape over them as like a cloak and whatever lies underneath the feathers, nobody knows as they are always covering the Kronans.

Antonias himself is no exception to his race and stands at 6'8 along with doning the raven feathered cloak, which covers him while he looms omniously looking through his mask. His feet never touches the ground as his near weightless body, floats gently above the ground as if defying gravity and moves with an eerie serene grace. However, people cannot deny the creepy feeling you get from him as if a sense of doom washed over you and remains while in his presence, as if sucking out the emotions in the atmosphere around you and sufficating the area with a deafening silence that drives you insane.

Personality:
The Outsiders are known to be silent companions if they ever settle down in a place, but most of the time they are wanderers in the galaxy which is much like Antonias. Being a stotic person who observes the world, he isn't socialble at all so it would be close to a miracle to see him talk at all. The Outsiders' like for observation all stem from them having little interaction with other races, for they continue to watch the other races under a careful eye to learn more about social graces. Also proving that they too have a curious nature, which also applies to Antonias who too likes learning and thinking about the complexity of things whether mechanical or scientific in nature.

Magi-Tech Scientist

Talents/Abilities/Tech:
Antonias possesses extremely powerful magic like the rest of his race but instead of using raw magic, they combine it with their understanding of science to create massive effects. With his progressive understanding of science, the more complex his magic becomes from just being large fireballs or large bolts of lightning. Expect exploding spear of ice by manipulating the properties of water and ice, or like gravity disappearing by manipulating vectors and energy fields.

Appearance:

Personality: Nov has always been an optimist, or at least tries to maintain being one anyway. Becoming more machine than man as time goes by has not been easy on him as he usually resorts to bars usually after shift to ease his mood on the subject. However it’s his job that mostly keeps him focused off the ever growing realization.

While New York 2.0 isn’t such a rowdy enough place to demand a huge security force, it nonetheless does require order and justice to govern over such a diverse society. Being born off-world and growing up among those not of his kind, Nov is obviously used to interacting with other alien or in-organic (especially when he is becoming one too) species and understanding their cultures. But as a police officer, he of course takes his job seriously and won’t hesitate to get into a confrontation if the situation demands such.

Occupation: Security / Police Officer

Talents/Abilities/Tech: After a horrific and rather explosive accident while in the line duty, Nov sustained devastating injuries with much of his body burned nearly beyond recognition. When he was recovered, much of the medical staff that had attended to him; even own squad were both amazed and horrified that he was still alive and conscious throughout the entire ordeal.

After months of surgical work, Nov was eventually back on his feet but not exactly the kind he remembered them being. In order to treat him, Nov had to be “re-built” utilizing many implants and prosthetics to replace the limbs and organs that were not recoverable. As a result to Nov’s injuries, almost his entire lower body and several sections upwards had been cyberized.

While Nov’s new cybernetic frame work is not exactly combat oriented, it is however enough to get him by daily. However, when he’s on the job patrolling the streets, his prosthetics are interchangeable with more rough and durable cybernetics, allowing him to outperform an average human being in terms of strength and reflexes.

Though he is able to lead a normal enough life, Nov is facing an inevitability where his organic portions of his body, eternally scared by his previous incident, slowly begin to fail and thus requiring further cyberization.

Other:

• Got the nickname Cyan has he painted his personal prosthetics by the same color.
• Often patrolling throughout New York 2.0’s streets and assisting with the processing of new arrivals and shipments.
• Has a tendency to use his cybernetics to scale buildings, usually to get better vantage points.

@ShiningSector Cyan is approved, and this RP will still probably be accepting once we're more in the swing of things anyhow.

IC IS UP NOW!!! Feel free to begin engaging the world in however you like. I've suggested a bunch of options, but ultimately that's for you to decide. Just do what you like for now (maybe hold off on crazy dramatic shenanigans for a little bit?) and My co-GM and I will do our best to accommodate.

Also, would you be interested in starting a Skype chat or something similar? Just as a way to keep us all connecting and getting to know each other? No pressure.

I'm use to having a Skype chat group for RP's. I find it keeps the group tied together. I vote yes though I'll PM anyone I want to get in touch with even if we don't do it.

I'd be open to using Skype though I can't promise I'll be able to talk or attend sometimes. Most of my available time goes into the mornings and very late evenings due to work.

Also, what the Posting Regulations for the story. Are we going in a set order or freepost?

Actually, I was wondering what you guys thought about it? I mean, I feel like the open-endedness of this RP would probably work better in a free posting idea, but if you prefer a set order its up to you guys.

@RedXCross I'm more inclined to using a free post. As long as we use judgement and don't go to far.

I feel we're all probably at the point where we know how to moderate our posting frequencies so free post should be the way to go. If we're waiting for a round to end when we aren't even interacting with half the characters it can make things somewhat tiresome. Besides, if someone wishes to interject and fears they won't post in time they can always ask others to hold up in the OOC.
