@Aisling "If he says he's okay, he means it." Mihnea looked at his brother. "I'm more worried about Toma at the moment... he's got a tachycardia. His heart is beating too fast, and this can be the precursor of a cardiac arrest..."
"What can I do? What is wrong with Toma that his heart is racing?" a panic look came across Mystique's face as she put the kitten down on the bed. She went to the other side of Toma's bed.
@Aisling "He was born with a severe cardiac defect," Mihnea explained. "That's why he's in a wheelchair, and that's why this bunker looks like an ICU in a basement." He stood up and took a bunch of pills and a bottle of water, and then, he helped Toma with taking the pills.
@CountDracula "It is something worse than a murmur that much I know. Is it because of the veins not forming right?" she asked softly as she knelt down next to Toma. "I know of various hospitals that are good with children diseases...... But they are in United States not here. Where is loan?"
@Aisling "It's more complex." Mihnea explained Toma's cardiac defect to her. "The US in't the only country that has good hospitals. We have them, too, and Toma is being treated in one of the best hospitals in the world." "Ioan's here. He's helping us voluntarily. He's one of the most powerful sorcerers alive, and that's why he decided to join us on the battlefield, although he's in a wheelchair," Dracula said via telepathy.
@CountDracula "I hope that someone can fix his heart one day. I know that some do get hearts from those who.... didn't need them any more. I am not a medical person but I hear things that I do not completely understand." So loan can fight from his wheelchair? He must be really strong!
@Aisling "I know..." Mihnea said. "Toma's on top of EuroTransplant's list, but they still haven't found a heart for him, and if they can't find one, he's got a year left... if he's lucky."
"You can also directly ask me," Ioan said. "Yes, I can fight from my wheelchair. I don't fight with weapons."
@Aisling "It has to be a child's heart," Dracula's father explained. "And children's hearts are rare. Also, the heart has to match certain criteria, namely the blood type and certain tissue markers. The problem with Toma is that his blood type is B - the second rarest blood type in Europe - and that his kind of tissue markers aren't common either..."
@Aisling Dracula had to concentrate on what was going on around him. "We're all going to die at some point, and I know that dying doesn't hurt. My mommy told me so when I saw her a few weeks ago," Toma said.
@Aisling "I've had a cardiac arrest a few weeks ago. That was when I saw her, and I saw Vlad as well," Toma answered. "It's called a near death experience."
"Then you are much braver than I am. I am not ready to die and hate even the thought of dying makes me shiver in fear. I wish I was as strong as you...."
