Except the reveal says absolutely nothing about him "setting up a league", or even adventuring or taking on the Island Trials. The major premise, based on what was said, is he goes to Alola with no purpose other than to attend school. His goal is to graduate, not to build Pokemon Leagues, not to challenge the Trial Captains, none of it.

Just graduating. "Like never before", whatever the heck that's supposed to mean. If he were planning to become the best trainer in the Islands and take on the trials or set up a league, you would think ONE of those would have been mentioned with the reveal in some form. But all we get is, "He's going to school. Oh, btw, he gets a Z-Ring lol but he's going to school."

So suddenly the anime becomes slice of life. :P How they think this is going to help the series, I have no idea, but I have no plans on wasting my life watching Ash go through middle school. Middle school was enough of a nightmare in real life.

The anime has always been kind of a cross between slice-of-life and monster-of-the-week, interspersed with plot episodes. Plus, it's still a show that is targeted towards young children, not teens or adults. Remember, Pokemon is the one where Ash has somehow managed to travel through six entire countries on foot, and still be ten-years-old.

Which was itself a retcon.

The show directly states (particularly within the first couple of gens) that multiple years have passed, yet Ash is still 10, so some weird magic is involved that defies all logic. More than likely Ho-Oh's doing. (Or just the developers trying to destroy people's minds.) It's not that he's traversed all of this in less than a year, it's just that he is locked at 10 years old.

Interesting. So Pokemon is going to be starting a Youtube series called Pokemon: Generations. 3 - 5 minute shorts that visit each generation of Pokemon, probably as a lead-up to Gen 7.

Something like that. They're going through December, so that takes us through the release of Sun/Moon. But the art style matches that of Pokemon Origins, so possibly done by the same animators (can't complain about that; Origins was awesome) and it looked like it used at least one scene from Origins, only this time from Green's perspective. Or, excuse me, Blue if you go off what Americans say.

Either way, that's got my interest more than the Sun/Moon anime.

It may be best to hold this for a while, as you'd have to make your way to the Hospital since I'm still locked down there for the time being - I did forget about that small detail.

Just to make clear, the final is going to be broadcasted live, right? Also, are you guys going to do the final post-by-post or collab? Cause in case of a collab I would like to make an appearance every now and then as a small drop out of the action. (If you don't get what I mean by that, I want it to be similar to RWBY volume 3 episode 2 when they switch to the guy in the bar during the fight)

P.s. After rewatching I noticed they only switch to the bar after the fights, but because of me needing a good entrance, I thought it would be nice if I get some more RP time if you get what I mean.
