Basic InfoName:: Vega Ashworth
Nickname/Alias:: The Reaper
Gender:: Male
Age and date of birth:: 24
Guild:: Golem's Hand (his mark is on his neck)
Rank:: A
Personal InformationPersonality:: Vega is a selfish, sadistic, arrogant and aggressive type of guy. When he's not being aggressive though he's doing his own thing, eating his favorite meals, or listening to music. If you want him to do something for you, you always have to throw something in for him, as said he's a man for himself. If the reward isn't good enough he's the type to turn down the offer, generally he is the merc type in this regard. If his life is in danger, that's all he'll try to save, his own life. It's been difficult for anyone to count on him to watch their back, but he's an incredibly reliable fighter as far as combat goes. If not for his problematic personality, he could probably make S rank.
It's been awhile since he's joined, so his outlook on Luna Crescente is a bit different than when he first arrived. Having not known a proper home for so many years he might feel like the city is a home to him, though he seems to treat it more like "his turf", but those who know him better feel this is his way of caring, for a guy who doesn't know how to be kind.
That being said, because Harpy Wing is on the outskirts of the city, he feels they "don't belong", it doesn't help that Golem Hand has quite a rivalry with them too, so the way he treats Harpy Wing members is vastly different to anyone else.
History:: Vega was born an orphan two cities away in a small town. In this town, magic wasn't common, but neither was the populace's kindness, and as an orphan he had no family to turn to when times got rough, so he'd ended up stealing and fighting his way through life there. One day though he stumbled into an old man's house, and attempted to steal whatever he could, among that was a book pertaining to an old magic. "Spirit Eater" it said, he didn't care, it could probably turn in for a good buck, but when no one wanted to go near it, he was puzzled... So instead he tried to read it, but he wasn't educated at this time.
When the old man whose house he broke into found him, he taught him how to read the book, and as a result, he began to learn this form of magic. It would turn out for the next few years he was an aide for the old man, who would soon pass away, leaving Vega his lab. He not only learned the magic, but also under his guidance learned the key traits of making items that can channel magic, thus he made himself twin curved daggers, with a few magical properties.
He went from city to city to hone his magic, challenging strong mages, as he wanted to learn more about his own magic, as well as it's limits. Thus he earned a nickname, "The Reaper", his black hooded coat with striking white markings on the back, the devilish smile and eyes that seemed to glow, and his seemingly random appearances, made him feared... For a time.
Eventually, he would find a guild, or rather to his distaste, have to. He was considered a Dark Mage at the time, his rogue hunts and such, but this was because of his lack of understanding of how they treated mages. The old man might've told him about it some time ago, but he never listened unless it was about magic. Most guilds at this time did not want him whatsoever, whether it was his reputation, or usually, because he beat down one of their mages, but this suited him just fine, because he didn't want to join a guild that was weak. That was when he found Golem Hand in Luna Crescente.
It was a guild with a strong ideology, but his first appearance there he would test it and challenge the mages in the hall at that moment to combat. When asked why after finally being subdued by their highest ranked members, he said he wanted to join. It was a strange way to ask guilds if he wanted to join them, but nonetheless he was accepted into the guild. From then on he rose the ranks rapidly, animosity towards him died down, and his attitude improved a bit too... Although not by much.
MagicMagic Name:: Spirit Eater
Description:: A unique and old magic, from a much darker time. It takes a pure black form, and is used like a malleable aura, using it for striking attacks, forming makeshift semi-formless weapons for attacks, or calling forth phantoms made from the same aura. The aura itself is able to be touched, allowing it to damage opponents. The properties of this aura are that it devours magic as it comes into contact with it, allowing the user to power through magical defenses, or counter magical offenses. The black aura will glow with colours based on what magic it has eaten on that usage to show when it takes effect. It can also deal heavy damage to an individual's body with certain weapon-type attacks, but generally deals light damage with some magical drain.
This magic has the weakness of not being able to be as large-scale as other caster types magic, but has the strength of being able to destroy caster types, and can decently measure up against most others, but it struggles against something like Ex-Quip, where the only chance he has to drain magic, is through direct contact with his Spirit Eater magic. Instead he relies on the magical weapon he created for "large scale" attacks.
Equipment:: Though he can use his magic without a weapon, he makes use of one for more variety, which can make him difficult to deal with once he gets close.
Twin Curved Daggers, The Hydras: Other than functioning as twin daggers, when infused with magic it can form into seemingly endless chains that can be manipulated as freely as the user's magic, and combined to form a scythe, which is probably the biggest reason he's earned his nickname. That said, this weapon can be used by anyone, and different types of magic users will be able to make different types of chains for binding, attacking, and so on. Although it seems only Vega is capable of combining the two into a scythe.
Fighting Style:: Vega fluidly switches between some rough, unrefined and brutal martial arts, to a kind of motion-based caster where the aura moves correlating with his own, making him able to fight in close to a spear's reach with ease. He uses his chains on his daggers to bind his opponents, and pull or restrain them to allow him to follow up with even more attacks. He implements loads of kicks and stomps in his style.
Physically he is incredibly feared, able to move quickly on his feet, and very agile. Because of this agility, most of his power is in kicks, especially if he keeps his momentum going.
Known Spells::
Spirit Eater: Magic he drains replenishes his own magical reserves. It won't heal him or restore his stamina though. It won't restore his magic one for one, but it will restore some of it.
Revenant Blade: Vega is able to form the aura into a more bladed form, giving him a bit more range, and even more range on thrust type attacks.
Chains of Purgatory: Using the chains of his empowered twin daggers he can wrap them around a target, while this actually has low range, he strikes them with a whole mess of it, making it incredibly difficult to avoid once he's in range of them. Upon trapping them he'll drain a considerable amount of magic upon activating them again, which will end the bind. Alternatively, he can just keep them chained instead to subdue them.
Wraith Sword: Vega forms a large black semi-solid sword almost as large as a spear, and slashes. The attack while slow and punishable especially if it misses, is almost guaranteed to destroy most types of magical projectiles in front of him, and can shut down an advance if he times it just right. It also deals heavy damage to all it strikes, and is solid enough to cut.
Vengeant Phantom: Vega charges forward with the black aura all around him forming almost what seems to be a monster as he moves with incredible speed in a straight line, damaging anyone he comes into contact with and striking through them. He can do this multiple times and into the air, or out of the air and onto the ground.
Soul Breaker: Charging one of his daggers to form the scythe's blade. He can use this as a weapon to fight with, or because he can form it pretty quickly, a surprise or trick in close quarters combat to get the upper hand.
Reaper's Scythe: He'll combine his daggers and imbue it with his magic, turning it into his iconic scythe, where he can slash and fight with. The scythe is capable of slashing through magic and splitting it apart. Because it is a scythe, it is a little slow, so while it can cover large area, it's not exactly ideal against someone who is quick enough. He can still call this form up after binding someone with his chains though, allowing him to do an execution move when he captures someone with his chains. Although slashing them while bound will also slash through the chains, so it will also free them, which might be helpful if they can survive the scythe.
Death God's Veil: Vega is capable of calling back all of his magic and forming it around him as an armor. Because of the density he cannot attack or move when this happens, but the armor will drain all the magic that hits it. It gives up all attacking capabilities, but if used correctly can let him not only survive a large attack, but also come back stronger. It does have a threshold though, if it goes beyond that he will start taking direct damage.
