Gareth Lawson
Gareth Jonathan Lawson
"I won't lie...but after the fucking things I've seen out there...You should reconsider being less excited."
Gender:
Male
Age:
26
Nationality:
Scottish
Appearance:
Gareth's appearance is more of just your generic Scavenger, especially Attire-wise. Underneath the gear, is an Unbranded Grey T-Shirt, covered by a Larger grey Jacket. For his trousers, he usually wears black cargo trousers, that doesn't have the tightest fit of the Old-World jeans. The trousers have about four front pockets, and two rear, each with a good depth to maybe hold a can of food or a Rifle Magazine. On his feet, warm, double layered hiking socks are covered by Black trainers, of which have a sturdy grip on the sole of the shoe. His hands are usually concealed with fingerless climbing gloves, which were on him when the catastrophe happened. Finally, upon his head sits a simple black Beanie, with a moderately tight fit. This provides the standard head warmth, along with the other hands+feet warmth. On top of everything, is a simple Dimmed-khaki shaded low-resistant Military Vest, that would've been found off of a Soldier's corpse not long ago. The condition of the vest is still quite high, though nothing compared to what it would've been like maybe 5 months ago. The vest's pocket count is lower than most Medium-Resistant Military-Grade vests, yet it still ensures he can carry more than enough of what he desires. His knees have simple dark-grey knee pads which are more to protect him from climbing short walls and stuff. These are non-bullet resistant. On his back, a single One-Strapped Bag tightly straps onto his body, allowing him to carry much larger findings and parts whilst lowering the chances of losing the bag itself.
As for Gareth himself, he's your average civilian, if average can be considered something nowadays. His hair was ruffled, medium length with a jet-black shading. Rarely styled or put into any sort of fashionable trend, he let's this remain how it remains, unless it frizzes up too far. His eyes are an emerald green colour, followed by a barely shaded skin colour. Gareth's height isn't too helpful, in some cases, standing at an averagely tall size of 6'2". Thus far has proven to be useful to some degree, it has its advantages and disadvantages. His build isn't perfect, and he bares moderately skinny arms. Though there are some Notable-Muscles in his arms, legs and torso, he isn't exactly the type of person you'd have found in the gym.
Personality:
Gareth has been fearful of the outcome of the Earth ever since it first sprung up. Whether he chooses to show this fear is highly dependent on what situation he's in. Sometimes, he can fall prey to the pressure of the apocalypse, when everything goes straight to the shitter. This doesn't make Gareth the ideal leadership-type of individual, yet he's managed to stay alive to this very day. However, coming across the Creatures can provoke panic, sometimes inner denial of completion, which can hinder his performance out during assignments.
Socially, Gareth isn't also the sharpest tool in the shed. Before the Catastrophe, he'd keep to a few friends, not attempt to make too many, could end up avoiding chances at socialising with random people and would generally feel awkward around the more confident souls of London. That very aspect of himself has carried onto the Apocalyptic wastelands, though maybe not as severe. He knows that communication is one of the key aspects to his, and everyone else's, survival, and that is what has forever conflicted the real him with. His decision making may not always be the best, as he sometimes attempts to take the safest route rather than the quickest and most daring. That itself was one of the more unique things about him, as a scavenger. Many of those forced out into the wasted streets had decided to take a quicker route in order to escape danger, rather than search far and wide for a way to prevent the danger from happening in the first place. That was what made Gareth slightly different as a Scavenger. As for those around him, Gareth can be rather caring. That only applies to those who've managed to understand both the struggles he's going through, and those who've assisted him in return for his role. Cooperation was always something that could bring out the happiness inside of Gareth. When it comes to the deaths of comrades around him, deep guilt can always crawl into his skin, even if it was nowhere near his fault.
Group:
Scavenger Group - Buckingham Camp
Role:
Organiser - Communications [Ironically]
Rank:
Team Leader - Team Westminster
General Equipment:
When it comes to equipment, he likes to keep it light, though heavy enough that he could survive an entire Operation in the streets. He usually trusts the Gear Handler of his team with his sleeping bag, for the warmth against the cold nights, and carries a Half-Ski Mask, to cover his mouth for the colder weathers, at all times. A few Matches, very small handheld, wind-up head-torch and a handheld Wind-Up Torch are some of the other small miscellaneous items that he's prone to carrying with him.
As for weaponry and armament, there are two individual weapons that are on his personnel on the vast majority of his Operations. For starters, he carries a 9-Inch Bladed Knife in a small hilt attached to his waist. This, being his most common weapon against the Newborns, and general tool for bushcraft, is most likely the most reliable thing he has to carry. On the opposite side of his knife, his waist carries a small Lead Pipe, of which is used to deal the slightly heavier damage against heavier foes. This also is used to jam things open, and can be used for other small needs, easily replaced by the world's pipes around him. Finally, comes his fire-arm. The L74A1, an American Shotgun bought by the British Army, is his means of Range. This Shotgun had been used by the British Army for a while, alongside such memorable Assault Rifles like the SA-80 and the L85A2, and was retrieved off of the Corpse of a Newly killed soldier during his First Scavenging assignment. The rounds compatible with this firearm include both the Camp's 12-Gauge Buckshot and Flechette rounds, Flechette being for more penetration, firing small needle like projectiles upon spread. This makes Gareth a more ideal close-ranged Scavenger, which hinders any sort of ranged combat. Generally speaking, it means he has to embark in more of the most feared encounters he hates, CQC. The weapon is fitted with an adjustable body strap, as well as a mount for any sort of Military Grade torch.
Background:
Gareth Lawson came from a small farm located near Edinburgh, Scotland. He only lived here for a few years, growing up to the age of Four, before his family, consisting of his father, mother and two sisters, moved to Southern Eastern England. They stayed in the town of Aylesbury, the County town of Buckinghamshire, where he was educated and brought up. During his 4th Year in School [This'd be Junior School, aged 8], his Mother and Father signed their divorce papers and split houses. His father moved moderately far, in terms of walking distance, to Maidenhead. Whilst Gareth continued to live with his Mother, he'd occasionally visit his dad on a weekly basis to make sure he wasn't effected too badly by their parting. To ensure he felt more relaxed, his Mother began to fund her son into taking Piano lessons, in which he excelled at for having a Natural-Musical Talent.
Growing up, Gareth found socialising difficult. It wasn't a major case of anxiety, however, and only proved to be a regular case of nervousness. It wasn't too serious, as you'd of expected when he managed to gather a few decent friendships to serve him throughout his school age. At first, he never made it into a Grammar School, not hitting the target of 121 in the 11+ test during his 6th Year in School. Disappointed by this mark, he moved into a regular Secondary school, where he continued to excel in his Piano Lessons. By the time he'd left school, he managed to reach a Musical Grade of 7, only just missing out on the Top Grade 8. When he left, Gareth had managed to succeed in gathering good GCSE grades. An A* in English, B in all three Sciences, an A in Maths, A* in his Music BTEC and so forth. In achieving what he wanted, he went on to High Wycombe's University, Bucks New University, where he studied more Musical related topics. He hoped on becoming a Piano Teacher himself, and so him, one of his sisters and a close friend began to start their own band to help gather small funding for their education. The band's name, as simple as it was, was The Simple 3, and were based around an Alternative Rock genre. Beginning to earn very small fame in their local and branched out towns, they kept on proceeding their independent music whilst learning to teach those younger someday.
After scoring high marks upon his degree, Gareth brought himself and the band to London, where he was going to set up his own private Music Teaching business based off of the money earned from Pub Concerts. Time passed, and two years drew on of him finally achieving his goal. He loved what he was doing, of course, and even branched out his own resources in self-teaching himself to play the Bass Guitar. It was going to be the perfect lifestyle, him and the duo making music whilst teaching it themselves. Life became the same, having a good repetition of good memories, cheerful music making and moving homes. Eventually, he'd settled down with his two band mates and work colleagues in a detached house, central London. It was upon their casual walks where everything happened...And so, during his wander around one of the populated streets, the Military began to move in. It was confusing at first, as a few of the customers being taught began to drop out and turn to the armed forces. Eventually catching up on the news, he began to learn more about the threats at hand. However, before he managed to learn enough to convince him to move, the Catastrophe happened.
It was barely a mystery, how he survived. As his sister, Lilith, had apparently dragged the unfortunate, unconscious body to the marked safe areas. When he awoke, she was in tears, describing little about what she didn't know. People were apparently attacking one another, right after the missiles fell. The Military tried attacking, and everyone just began to run to the city centre. An apparent Evacuation point was set up there, yet she didn't think there was enough strength in her to make it there. Their other band mate left for that zone, having survived the bombardment. That was when they learnt about its failure, with only two aircraft managing to escape the premises before becoming over-hoarded with seemingly violent people. Two days passed, as they camped out in an abandoned flat. They planned on staying there, when three wanderers found them. At that point, they were brought back to a somewhat developing haven, known as Camp Buckingham, located in the palace itself.
Over the next five months, he and Lilith settled in this new community, as it began to grow rapidly with survivors coming in. There was a huge amount of gunfire, and occasionally, someone had to be executed due to the infection getting into their bloodstream. It was a violent five months, especially after the second when Gareth was forced into the Newly-formed Scavenging Group. There, he embarked upon four Operations, where he began to gather an understanding of the destroyed city. The walls outside prevented him from one day hoping to run and leave the city, and yet more and more of the Creatures were arriving everyday. They had a sense for the survivors left in the city, and were arriving to the City in hope to find them for their next meals. Gareth made few friends, and lost them as well, only seeming to have Lilith as his only true friend. She remained at the Camp, being placed on the Defensive Group. After the third expedition, which resulted in losses from both Creatures, gathering of his now Militarised Gear and the violent maniacs within Camp History, he was almost traumatised. Yet, it didn't make up for an excuse to drop the Group, as he was promoted straight to a Team Leader. He was to lead a band of small Scavengers on the Next Operation, being on the Fifth Month. Little did he know that it was going to be more dangerous than being the simple Scavenger.
Strengths:
Movement has always been a Strength of his. Due to his lack of heavy equipment, minus the Shotgun maybe, he consists of relying on a quick escape. His build may not be so impressive, yet his stamina is. For his height, his heart seems to work fine-enough in such a way that it pumps the blood further, as some Tall Athletes sometimes have as a trait. Generally Good Vigilance also accounts as an advantage, because his fear brings the perception out of him, making him more prone to looking for the dangers. Melee Weapons and CQC Firearms has been the only sort of weaponry he's used up until this point, so it can sort of count as a Strength. Though he may not be Rick Grimes with the weaponry he has, he sure can keep himself alive for a little while longer with them.
Weaknesses:
Socialising can always be difficult. What good of a Leader is one that finds it difficult to stay completely focused in the buildings and streets of death and decay. Him apparently. However, the more he can work with an individual, the more he can become conflicted with the Weakness. A second weakness would add up to would be his Fear of the current life, but also the worry of death. The Creatures leave a shuddering feeling when first encountered up close. Many of the survivors in the camp have only come across the Newborn at the most, possibly even the Camp Menaces from the other side of London hoping to raid it for good food and materials. Strength would definitely add up as a weakness, as his body isn't fully able to do all those heavy lifting tasks that maybe some of the team-mates he works with can do. It can sometimes be embarrassing, lowing both his self confidence and self esteem. His field-duties can be sometimes hindered based upon his mood, very efficiently.

Zoey Mansfeild
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Nationality: English
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Appearance:
Picture is for clothes only, not looks. Tank top Zoey wears will be black and she doesn't wear a hat, also doesn't wear those shoes
You can usually find Zoey wearing a black tank top and women's tan cargo trousers. She also wears a pair of black lace up boots which she stole. Her hair is usually let down to flow free.
Personality: Before the outbreak Zoey used to be an outgoing, bubbly person who would happily meet new people. Very extrovert, Zoey was the life of the party and would try anything once. She came out as Bi-sexual at 14. When she was upset she would either bottle it up or go to her girlfriend, Jenna, and it was usually sorted within a couple of days. While that side of her still exists and does sometimes come out to play, the apocalypse has brought out a much different Zoey. She became depressed after loosing her girlfriend to the infected, and shut herself off from camp. She got over her depression after a couple of months but was still quiet and closed off, a new sadness covering up what used to be a wild, happy party girl.

The two grew up close on a council estate which they desperately wanted to escape from, but due to only having one parent with a small icome they found it hard. Growing up wasnt easy in such a rough place, her brother joined a gang and she found herself drinking before she was a teenager. By the time she was 14 she was smoking weed, drinking and failing her classes. Skip too year eleven at school, the final year of Zoey's GCSE's. Just like her brother before her it seemed she was destined to fail, but like a miracle, she met Jenna. A new Student from Ireland who had somehow been unfortunate enough to end up at her school. Jenna was a nice girl, smart, and everything Zoey had ever wanted. They eventually fell in love and Jenna managed to get Zoey back on track just in time for her to atleast pass. She managed to get a C in both her English and maths. For most other subjects she managed a C or a D, but somehow foundherself getting an A in (Science or Drama).
If Drama; Zoey found that with Jenna's help, and her new found concentration, that she had a love for Drama. When she got her A in Drama it helped her confidence majorly and she applied for an acting college. Based on her Drama GCSE Grade and how she just scraped in with a C in english and maths, they accepted her on the agreement that if she went off the rails like in secondary school she would be kicked out. Jenna helped her too stay grounded, thought they still partied and had fun, until she was 18 and graduated actin college. The next step was university, and with more of the governments money she managed to get into a small Drama university. A couple of years into her study, the outbreak started. Her and Jenna attempted to get to one of the camps during the early days, but on the way Jenna was bitten. She didnt tell Zoey, and when they got to the camp they were both checked but Jenna wasnt aloud in. They let Zoey inside and took Jenna to one side. To this day Zoey doesnt know if they killed her or just sent her away. This sent Zoey spiralling into depression, staying out of the way in camp and just doing her jobs. In the last month or so this has gotten better, and she is slowly returning back to the way she was.
Strengths: She is fast, nimble, agile, Is a brilliant Actress (If Not). Good with melee.
Weaknesses and Fears: Physically weak, Not the smartest, Scared to death of spiders.

Jonas Miguel "The Loner" Soberano
"WHY DID THEY DIE WHILE I GET TO LIVE?!?!"
Age:
27
Gender:
Male
Nationality:
Filipino-Caucasian
Appearance:
Before all of the shit hit the fan, before the Toxin hit the world like a train, Jonas would've been considered a pretty handsome guy. Slightly boyish looks, wavy hair, small stubble moustache and soft brown eyes would've at least given him a second look in the streets. A lean, toned swimmer's build, strong shoulders and muscled arms. Standing at 5'10, he isn't exactly the tallest person in the room but isn't anything to snuff at. He holds quite an enthusiastic aura about him when around the rare and occasional friend, always flashing a smile and making a nerdy joke of his. He an intelligence about him, having had a scholarship course in Chemistry beforehand.
Now, living as a Scavenger, his appearance seemed a little less... alive. His shoulders drooped, his head is down and his childish antics seem to be lacking in any type of meaning. When out of the camp, he wears as comfortable of clothes as he can. He usually wears running shoes, flexible sweatpants for easy escape, any loose t-shirt he can find and a trench coat that can be folded into his bag. He keeps himself light on his feet, making sure that his shoes weighed as much as a feather for easy escapes. The sweatpants, a grey and white colour with two pockets and string, was for easy climbing and running. The trench coat was for when the days became colder and when he needed to store things outside of his bag. He dressed to survive when he is out and about, trying to get as relaxed as he could. He covers his hands with black gloves and covers the bottom half of his face with a bandana, covering his ears with a tight-fitting beanie on the colder nights. He is usually found clutching his Heckler & Koch HK417 tightly in his hands, his backpack slung over his shoulder.
Personality:
Jonas grew up in a sheltered life, living in the northernmost city in New Zealand, Whangarei. Having brought up by his mother and father as an only child, they were very protective in him and were reluctant to even send him to a public school. He isn't the type of person to fight (even post-Toxin), although his father's fear of bullying forced him to teach Jonas Taekwando, lessons that his father hid from his mother. He is a very kind soul with no real grasp on how to lie and cheat. Due to the fact that he was sheltered, he didn't really let go of some of his more childish traits, constantly worrying about travelling in the dark and staying overnight in an operation. Before the toxin, he was a bright torch for enthusiasm and happiness. And to most, he is like that in the camp. But those closest to him (who are all dead) would notice how.... fake he had become. He would make a joke to keep morale up, flash a smile to those who feel sad and laugh when there was a good joke but it didn't feel... there. It felt like he was doing those things for the sake of doing those things. And he hasn't realised that yet.
He struggles to socialise sometimes, never making any connections with anybody in the Scav group. To do so meant that he would lose a friend in an operation one day due to his inability to do his job. As a spotter, he tries to keep a distance between him and the team. That way, if he was being attacked and ravaged by some Creature in the back lines, none of them would think to even save him. It was morbid but he had seen too many people die for some heroic "save the princess" mission. His job is to keep them alive and if that meant dying for the team, he would do it. His fears of any personal connections with anyone kept him from really connecting with anyone in the camp, becoming that loner who speaks now and then.
He can't bring himself to killing other human beings (bandits and such). However, he doesn't have any qualms with killing animals (from going out hunting with his grandfather) and creatures, his travelling partners calling him "a pretty decent shot". He isn't the type to swear or get angry, consistently trying to calm the others in their group. His soft voice and calming attitude came from his role model and grandfather, a New Zealand sheep farmer that had a strange obsession with bread and an unforgettable personality. He also got his obsession of bread from him and the desire to become a baker.

Scavenger - Sniper
Rank:
Spotter
General Equipment:
Jonas keeps packs himself relatively light, fitting a sleeping bag, his trench coat, spare clothes and a flashlight. He does carry some matches but he wants to keep his bag light enough for him to run away swiftly. He always brings his teddy bear (a secret that only Victoria knows) but other than that, there is no space spared for personal belongings. In terms of weapons, he keeps a small hatchet with him for the rare occasions when he faces his enemies up close and personal. He is quite clumsy with the thing and doesn't really know how to use it but it gives him confidence when the group needs to go through confined spaces. His real baby however, lies in the Heckler & Koch HK417. It is a gas-operated, select firing battle rifle designed to be used as a designated marksman rifle. A DMR's job is to be in that middle ground between assault rifle and sniper rifle, hence it's use by Spotters everywhere. It uses the high penetrative power and range of the 7.62x51mm NATO round whereas most rifles of it's kind uses the 5.56x41mm. His is the Recon variant with 406.4 mm standard barrel, the mid-ground between Assault and Sniper, used for easy cover fire for a team from the back without sacrificing ease of movement and range.
Background:
Jonas was born into the Soberano family, in the city of Whangarei. His life in New Zealand wasn't rough and although he was quite sheltered, he led a good childhood. His life at school was normal, he made some good friends and even had something brief with a girl but that ended very quickly. He picked the sport of swimming, training hard and fast for his parents but even that became a routine, his speed steadily increasing through the years. The only thing to brighten up his normal life was his visits to the farm and meeting his grandfather". Their first meeting didn't really go as plan. "So. Do you play rugby?" When he shook his head, his grandfather just sighed and muttered to himself. Feeling disappointed in himself and slightly sad, little Jo hopped off the tractor they were on and stared exploring. He toddled around the large vehicle before stopping before a high powered rifle.
"Gun!" He pointed at the wooden stick of death with a singular, chubby finger, shouting at the top of his lungs. His grandfather quickly ran over to him, gasping at the sight before placing a hand over his mouth and swiftly slinging his hunter's rifle over his shoulder. He knelt down on one knee, staring down at the toddler. "Okay, here's a deal. If you keep yer trap shut and don't snitch on me to yer Mum, I'll give you five bucks and a chance, when you're older, to learn how to shoot this thing right here." He gestured to the gun slung behind him with a small twinkle and then bringing out five dollars. The toddler just gaped widely before shutting his mouth quickly and grasping the five dollars with chubby fingers, toddling out of there towards the barn.
From that day on, the relationship between the two became the best of friends. When Jonas grew older, his grandfather kept his promise and taught him how to shoot a rifle. Thankfully, the boy was so excited that he didn't even think of how wrong it was to teach a child to shoot a gun until later on. The also growing fascination with bread started when his grandfather took him to the nearest town and showed him his former bakery. To the child, bread was the perfect mix of sweet and savoury and that belief had carried onto later life. The relationship between grandson and grandfather was almost inseparable.
At the age of fifteen however, the trips stopped. No one said why, no one said anything except cry. He knew what happened. He cried too.
Life was quite the blur after that point, at sixteen he gained a firearms license, practising the hunting and survival skills he picked up from his grandpa. Without a companion however, it became a boring experience but he kept at it, getting better and better at shooting moving objects day after day of training himself. School was monotonous and easy, his love life was laughable, swimming was stagnating and life at home was quite a somber affair. This all changed when he graduated, being offered a scholarship in Chemistry at a university in London
The hype of the first few days in college soon turned into monotony again. Sure the work was harder but there was nothing special happening. He made a close group of friends (no girl in sight, of course) and it stayed like this until the very last year of his university scholarship. There were rumours a new girl in town, quickly rising go to the higher echelons of the university and becoming the girl that every boy wanted. And of course, Jonas had to go ahead and meet her.
He shuffled into the library, picking out a random book and then sitting down on a seat. He took a glance towards his friend Ben, giving a small smile and a thumbs up. He simply rolled his eyes at his friend and transfixed his gaze towards the woman in front of him. It was a simple dare, some fanfiction-like story coming to life. The nerdy Asian boy asking out the blonde, popular girl. It was for free lunch, Jonas reasoned, don't be so worried. Even though, his face blushed crimson as he opened his mouth to speak, heart thumping like a raging elephant. "H-hey, uh, that's s-some n-nice, um, b-books ya h-have there." She smiled.
And a relationship straight out of a corny romance novel evolved from there. They were college sweethearts, his friends being supportive of him. He liked her and she liked him. They spent hours talking in the library and was eventually forced to get out when the cleaners came in. He showed her around the campus, finding himself at ease and relaxed around her. In those many months, it felt like he had someone who understood him. And then he started to look at the people around him
It was sneered at by the Populars, they disapproved of one of their own going out with a "nerd" like him. He was shy, always behind her whenever they walked together, hiding himself from the stares and laughing faces. She had protected him from them of course but throughout it all, he always thought he wasn't good enough. She was beautiful, courageous, popular, perfect and he was... a nerd. It wasn't like the romance novels. He never opened up from his shell, he was never "accepted". He just... stayed the same. Soon, he just faded away into the sea of faces, trying to escape from the whispers and in turn, going away from Victoria. He graduated and split from Emory, doing odd jobs here and there before deciding to move to London. He has since worked in a bakery there. It was then the Catastrophe happened
Jonas had been the first man in the bakery, quickly finishing a batch of fresh cupcakes for the morning. His obsession for cooking and baking in particular usually made him the first one into the bakery, trusted enough by the owner of the place to open the bakery in the early morning. He started to hum to himself, smiling as he took a long whiff of the sweet cupcakes. It was for the students, these cupcakes, the ones that wanted to buy something for lunch. He picked the best one out and sprinkled some more sugar on it, saving it for a nice little girl named Charlotte that always came to the bakery.
He chuckled to himself, remembering her request of "more sugar!" with a cute little pout on her face. As he calmly set down the tray of cupcakes on the counter, picking out the worst ones and began to eat them with a distasteful look on his face. Boss didn't like wastefulness so he forced his employees to eat the worst cupcakes instead of throwing them in the bin. He had no indication except for the distinct whine of a missile plummeting to the ground and his world going black. He had been inside, thankfully, so the toxin never got into his systems. He awoke a day afterwards, having been knocked unconscious by a falling metal pot, waking to a whole new world.
The sounds of gunfire was evident outside, sounds of battle was loud and clear. Jonas groaned as he picked himself up, clutching his head. Clearing out the massive headache and eventually getting used to his surroundings, he frightfully backed away from the sound of gunfire and went deeper into the bakery, coming to the backdoor. It led up to the Boss' open garden. He heard some soft shuffling noise inside. Deducing that it was just Boss lounging around in there, he walked up to the basement stairs and called out "Boss! It's your boy Jonas! Are you there mate?"
No reply came, only a loud groan in response. Becoming increasingly worried, he flipped the switch to the basement on and carefully walked down, getting near the door and knocking. He heard a louder groan, a small howl and the sound of a figure slamming against the door. "Uh, Boss? You all goods?" There was increased a slamming, a hole punctured through the flimsy wooden door, revealing a grotesque, diseased arm.
Jonas backed away quickly, letting out a quick yelp of surprise. "Yeah nah Boss, you should probably get that checked out." The groans only increased as the hand retracted before he made three more powerful slams against the door, eventually breaking it. The Kiwi gawked at the shuffling, unrecognisable form of Boss as it lunged at him. He screamed, turning around and running, going through the kitchen, quickly weaving through tables and chairs before sliding under the metal door shutter. He immediately closed it down, locking it out before huffing and puffing at the sudden rush of adrenaline. He reached for his phone only to find he dropped it in the bakery. Not that it mattered anyways. 911 was flooded with calls.
He was immediately spotted by a group of survivors and was told that the military was sending radio signals out to every frequency, calling for people to go their nearest designated "safe-zone". The group said that they'd be heading there and asked for Jonas to join. Suspicious and unsure, he declined the offer but asked where it was. As soon as they left, he took a short two minute walk to his apartment. He quickly packed as many supplies he needed though also taking things he wouldn't need such as his phone and charger, earphones, his teddy bear and his laptop. He shoved everything into his bag and used a map to make his way towards the safe zone.
The Filipino weaved through the blockade of crashed motor vehicles to cross the street, sometimes having to run over cars to get through. The gunfire was louder and the screams only intensified. This pushed him to face the soldier dressed in green camouflage, standing in front of the designated zone. He could've been younger than Jonas himself and was already dealing with a disaster like this? He only shook his head and snuggled himself further in his coat, trying to ignore the sound of screams behind him. The so-called "safe zone" was the ancient, large local library, turned into some "fortress" with soldiers armed with high-powered assault rifles walking through the masses. He scanned his eyes over the crowd before shaking his head, making a go for the stairs. Of one of those "things" were here, it would be a slaughter. He made his way onto the rooftop only to be stopped by another soldier in green, wearing an intimidating gas mask.
"What do you think you're doing here?" Although his voice sounded deep and macho, carrying a deadly HK417, his hands were shaking with nervousness. Jonas stared up at the soldier with a curious expression. "Well, I'm not one of those 'things' if that's what you're asking."
The soldier aggressively shook his head before swiftly raising his gun to Jonas' head, clambering a round with a shaky hand. "Don't fucking lie with me, you infected piece of shit! Show your fucking bite mark! Huh bitch! Let me fucking kill you like I did my friend, huh? Let your brains splatter on the wall, is that what you fucking want, you piece of horse cock!?" The crazed man shouted at the top of his lungs shouting insults at the 27 year old man's head. Meanwhile, all his would-be-victim could do was stare the at barrel with wide eyes, heart beating a hundred miles an hour. His only thoughts were 'Oh god, I'm going to get gunned down by some raving lunatic.'
His fists clenched, tears forming in his eyes. He needed a way out of the situation. His gaze went downwards, at the soldier's wide open legs. He kicked hard. The soldier dropped down on his knees, dropping his gun and clutching his gonads. Jonas lunged to pick up the rifle and then hit his opponent's head with a quick snap with the butt of the gun, knocking him out in the end. He heard some more gunfire, some moving downstairs. He heard the loud screams cut short by the repetitive bang of the assault rifles. He nervously fumbled with the gun before deciding to rummage through the soldier's things, repeatedly saying sorry over and over again. Getting a couple of magazines, he sprinted towards a ladder leading down to one of the back alleyways and escaped.
He ran away from the library and eventually confronted a group of wanderers heading to the same "safe-zone". Warning them about the fact that the library was overrun, they thanked him and wanted him to come with them to their own "camp". Along the way, they told him about the initial chaos caused by the bombs that dropped, presumably by one of those irritable terrorist groups. The group came together after their own designated "safe-zone" was overrun by a horde of Creatures and was heading for a camp in Buckingham Palace.
Life in camp wasn't exactly spectacular for Jonas. Immediately enlisting on the Scavenger Group to take his mind off the apocalypse, he was one of the rare spotters who haven't been killed by some Leaper surprising him from the back. He can't believe the fact that he's still alive after so many operations out in London. A small part of him believes that this is all a cruel, long nightmare. The one with hope. But Jo pushes all that down and focuses on his job. He doesn't really interact with anyone and is a bit of a pariah in the camp. He is lonely and sinks into depression more and more everyday...

Olivia Blackwell
"You miss 100% of the shots you don't take, so why not just give it a go?"
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Nationality: English
Appearance:
Olivia's most obvious features are her shoulder-length locks of chocolate-blonde hair and her distinctive hazel-green eyes. Her face is slightly-oval in shape, her nose pert, and her lips a healthy shade of pink. She stands at a height of one hundred and sixty seven centimetres tall and her posture befitting that of a athlete and dancer. Her build is athletic and lean, with a fair share of muscles gained through her highly physical lifestyle. She is highly lithe and agile, and her figure clearly represents one who is familiar with climbing, dancing and other acrobatic manoeuvres. Olivia's pale ivory complexion boasts a hint of golden undertones, and is unblemished except for a pair of scars on her left arm and right leg that she acquired long ago during a careless accident in her childhood.
In terms of attire, a navy green parka that is lined with a thick layer of fur at the collar is worn as a piece of outerwear with two pockets lining the top, and two on the bottom. Within she wears a black thermal tank top. For her trousers, she wears a pair of dark brown cargo pants. On her hands are a pair of black biker gloves that are little faded and slightly worn. Her feet are covered by a pair of black Adidas trainers with its signature white stripes on the sides. On her head sits a military cap, in similar hue to that of her parka. In colder seasons, a brown woollen scarf can also seen wrapped around her neck to provide some protection against the cold. On her back, she carries a small backpack, big enough to carry the essentials while not being heavy enough to weigh her down and hinder her movements and activities.

Personality:
On a first impression, Olivia may often come aloof or snooty because of the way she carries herself or that dreamy stare that make it seem as though see is seeing through you. However, she is anything but those. Despite her how outer appearance and expression may seem to be, once one gets to know her, they would discover her to be rather warm and friendly. A habit of relapsing into dreamland mode often gives her that blank stare she is often teased about. She may not be extremely intelligent, but she more than makes up for it with her diligence and dedication in her tasks and activities. Not one to boast, her humble and down-to-earth nature was one of the earliest traits in her life nurtured by her parents. It goes without a doubt that Olivia is highly confident of both herself and her abilities, but not to an extent that would make her seem cocky or arrogant, simply just assured of her own skills and abilities.
It is simply enough to show that she is passionate enough to be able to stand her ground and fight for what she believes in. Olivia is known to be highly-focused and remarkably industrious, willing to put in the extra mile to achieve her goal or complete the tasks assigned to her. Once she sets goals for herself, she becomes incredibly dedicated to her goals, pretty much almost to the point of stubbornness. Those victories sure smell sweet though, and it is that though that keeps her pushing through when the going gets tough. Bold and adventurous, she is not afraid of trying out new things and is always looking forward to learning new stuff. A good team player who understand the necessity of teamwork and cooperation, Olivia is also an outspoken and ambitious individual who is not afraid to make her views and opinions be known.

Scavenger - Team Westminster
General Equipment:
Being a explorer, it is important that she travels light to aid in her running towards her objectives. Thus, her sleeping bag along with other heavier items that might need for the mission will be taken care of by the team's Gear Handler. To provide some warmth in the colder seasons, a black half-ski mask to protect the lower region of her face is worn. A dual-powered torch that is powered both by batteries and kinetic energy is carried along on her person for illumination against the darkness. A worn and tattered city map of London and an equally worn but otherwise functioning compass are some just of the other items carried on her person. In terms of weaponry, she carries along two weapons on every mission without fail, citing it as her personal load-out.
For engagements in the melee range, a Kukri is used, a weapon she found on a dead Gurkha soldier. For ranged engagements, she uses the L85A2, the standard issue assault rifle for the British Armed Forces. Retrieved off the corpse of a dead British soldier, the rifle is capable of holding thirty rounds in a magazine and firing at an effective range of four hundred metres. The L85 is so accurate that when it was introduced to the British Army, they had to redesign their marksmanship tests. Fitted with an adjustable body strap, it also built to accommodate the use of a military scope, most notably the ACOG scope.

Background:
Olivia was born to a small family of carpenters living in Surrey, England. Her childhood was relatively common and average, no different from that of any other child in the city. She did moderately well in school, always managing to land herself somewhere in the middle of the class rankings. Being someone who was more hands-on rather facing the books all day, she rejoiced when school was out and she did not have to study. A bright and otherwise energetic and adventurous young girl, she always found herself hanging out with the boys in their games, rather than hanging out with the girls playing dress-up or other similar girly activities. Not very good at expressing her feelings, Olivia tends to come off as aloof although she is anything but that and this has led to her having a rather limited amount of friends throughout the entirety of her childhood. However, once she has befriended someone, she is an extremely loyal friend, one would desire in times of need.
At the age of ten, the Blackwells moved to Chelsea in North London and it was also then that she found an interest in dancing and gymnastics. Her parents, ever supportive of their only child's interest signed up her in the London Academy of Gymnastics and Dance, where she then moved on to Rhythmic Gymnastics. It came to no surprise to her parents when she performed remarkably better when compared to her usual performance in school. Not too long after her fourteen birthday, her father made the decision to apply for a place in the Royal Marines Commandos. That was also the time that sparked another chapter in her life as she got interested in all things military, ranging from guns to vehicles. After graduating from the academy, Olivia studied hard for her GSCEs, gathering decent enough grades.
Nothing to boast about, but they weren't too shabby either, she wasn't the study sort anyhow. Deciding not to go forward with a university education, she went forward with her newest hobby and interest, Airsoft. It also happened to be the activity where she made the largest number of friends that she frequently hung out with. It was that that Olivia learnt squad and battlefield tactics and how to handle guns, albeit not real ones, but the basic principles were pretty similar. It wasn't too long later that the Catastrophe happened and the military began to move out into the streets, soldiers and armoured vehicles alike in the city grounds. Her father who was home on leave was called back and redeployed. That was the last she ever saw of him. Eventually, as the military gathered survivors into evacuation zones, Olivia was the only one to make it safety to an evacuation zone as her mother fell gravely ill not too long after her father left them. Eventually, she found herself in Camp Buckingham, and that was where she had been, and most likely will be ever, until something otherwise changes.

Strengths:
Due to her many years of gymnastics and dance training, she is Agile and Flexible, enabling quick movements and otherwise fitting into areas her other team members might not be able to. He may not be strong, but she is physically fit and possess an Impressive capacity where Stamina is concerned. She isn't very tall, but her relatively Small Stature can help to fit into short and narrow spaces. Basic understanding of tactics along with skilled understanding of Melee Weapons and Rifle Handling is just another of her strengths.
Weaknesses and Fears:
She is Not Physically Strong, so any task that require a great amount of strength would prove too daunting for her to accomplish without help. Not Being Very Tall, objects or ledges at high places can prove to be quite challenging for her to reach without any assistance. However, that wouldn't stop here. She also has a Weakness for Heights and tends to get queasy when up at high heights.
