That's... Not even remotely what I said. I have no issues with paladins. Some of my favorite characters I've made are themselves paladins. I said that I did not personally approve of copying another established character, not of any job or archetype. I haven't seen Hellsing or Hellsing Ultimate so I can't speak to how similar he is to the source material, I only commented that I don't like copying another character.

Name: Gene Smith, true name Châmêsh, the Humble Effigy
Gender: Male
Age: 24 years
Race: Angel of Laguna

Appearance: Gene's right arm appears to be made of flesh-colored marble, and has a small bracer on each of the arm's joints.

Faction: Hierarchy of Laguna

Personality: In spite of--or possibly because of-- being the "Humble" Effigy, Gene Smith is the very embodiment of arrogance. Proud, cocksure, and foolhardy to a fault, Gene never fails to boast about his power. However, his angelic superiors have instilled a strong sense of duty and camaraderie in him. Gene holds his four siblings in extremely high regard, and despises any and all enemies of Heaven.

Bio: The Hierarchy of Laguna had usually relied on human agents for their dealings with the human world, and for a time that plan had worked flawlessly. Recent developments, however, had made humanity much less willing to listen to their holy superiors, and the Hierarchy was forced to take more drastic measures. To that end, the Hierarchy's best artisans had attempted to improve on their wildly successful "Joy" angels. Whereas Joys were capable of near-perfectly mimicking Witches in both appearance and power, this new breed of angel would be capable of mimicking regular humans. And so, the very experimental "Effigy" angel came into being.

Effigies are angels designed to blend into human society while still defending themselves from outward threats. Unfortunately, a fatal flaw in the Effigies' creation process had made it so that each one developed a rudimentary Angel Arm from its own soul, weakening them immensely. This strange flaw caused the Effigies' mimicking process to fail utterly when replicating certain parts of the body, in particular their right arm and skeleton. Both of these parts were rendered indisputably nonhuman in both look and function, and made going incognito practically impossible for all Effigies. As a result, only five Effigies were ever made, and very nearly all of them were captured by Gilgamesh agents only a few years after touching down on Earth.

Gene is the last and youngest Effigy, colloquially known as "The Humble Effigy". He currently works in the mailroom of a Gilgamesh-owned splinter corporation office, avoiding detection through a variety of complicated and dangerously insecure means. Fortunately for Gene, his Angel Arm manifests as something that can be easily mistaken for a prosthetic, and its complete lack of veins and muscles makes it even easier to disguise. Gene has spend the last five or so years quietly working for Gilgamesh, Incorporated as an intern, spending all the while trying to track down his lost siblings.

[Combat]

Powers and Abilities:
Angelic Constitution 1: Being ultimately an Angel at heart, Gene is physically superior to most humans, normal or augmented. In terms of raw strength, Gene is roughly comparable to a Hell Gluttony or an Applaud, while at the same time being not much faster than either.
God Trigger 1: The power stored within Gene's right hand can be tapped into for a brief period of time, granting Gene immense pain resistance, increased attack speed, and a massive boost in physical power on par with that of a true Joy. Unfortunately, this form can only last around fifteen seconds.

Style: God Hand Style 1: A style devised by Gene himself. God Hand Style focuses on using and abusing Gene's own durability to overwhelm enemies. Rapid attacks, blocking blows with the God Hand, and fighting as dirtily as possible are all staples of the style.

Equipment: Gene has nothing to his name other than his employee ID, a set of clothes, and the Angel Arm that replaced his right arm: the God Hand 1. The God Hand, being the manifestation of the majority of his power, is functionally indestructible and is much denser than his left arm. If Gene focuses hard enough, the God Hand can be imbued with further power, granting it strength far beyond Gene's own. It is this very property that makes up for at least two of Gene's techniques: the Palm Smash and the God Uppercut.

Techniques:
Side Juke 1: Gene's most agile move, the Side Juke is nothing more than a dodge to the right. Despite not moving his legs at all, Gene is capable of traveling several feet sideways, diagonally, or even in a parabolic arc away from his current position.
Sugar Gene Combo 1: An extensive but relatively simple combination of jabs, hooks, uppercuts, and straight punches that pummels enemies senseless.
Palm Smash 1: A slow but powerful blow with the God Hand's palm that blows enemies several feet backwards.
God Uppercut 1: An attack that is almost comically over-telegraphed, but strikes with unmatched power, the God Uppercut is fully capable of blowing its victims straight to heaven.
Blue Stinger 1: A true remnant of Gene's angelic heritage, this is a kick done in midair that miraculously propels him forward. While not very damaging, it is excellent for closing distances and rattling people's braincases.
Side Swipe 1: A withering blow to the side of the body, meant to break guards in general and ruin kidneys in particular.

@Hantu Kongkek Another classic theme, but's not that expressive or grand towards Zeruel. Granted its from the same series, but I think it fits for another more minor Angel.

In My Spirit and Carnage are both themes played when Zeruel was in the Rebuild series (2.22 specifically) and they both fit wonderfully with his grand and ominous persona (Q), with X-Ray Dog's Dark Empire (3.0) being a more original theme for his potential rage.

@Scrapula Ooh! Another Laguna entry!

Though I must remind you, there's a Level/Growth system implemented into this RP. Everyone starts at Level 1, with their powers being average (look at our profiles for examples), and after gaining points by expressing great combos, defeating enemies, and defeating bosses (Check the OCC for more info), you will gain points based off what you pulled off by the GM (I believe). With enough points, you are able to upgrade weapons, styles, and techniques, as well as being able to add more abilities (not during battles mind you, only after or anywhere that's calm), and eventually make your character more powerful.

Otherwise, he looks great! Would love to have another Laguna come in as well. :)

Alright, I've written up a sheet for the race Gene belongs to.

Effigy Monster Sheet

Name: Effigy

Faction: Heaven

Subfaction: Hierarchy of Laguna

Power Level: On paper First Sphere Seraphim, in practice Third Sphere Principality.

Description: Birthed from the same design that created the Joys, the Effigies are designed to be fantastic infiltrators and the ultimate in subtle tools for the Hierarchy of Laguna. Unfortunately, a corruption in their manufacturing process has restricted most of their power to a single part of their body, rendering them hopelessly outmatched for both of these jobs. This flaw has rendered their skeleton and entire right arms immediately and obviously inhuman, though how that flaw manifests differs from Effigy to Effigy. As a result of this incredibly damaging flaw, there are only five Effigies in existence.

Armament: Effigies are, to a man, equipped with a nearly-indestructible right arm, the result of their own soul being partially converted into an (in this case literal) Angel Arm. Certain Effigies have managed to apply this idea and make themselves a second, far more functional, Angel Arm in the form of an actual weapon, by draining power from their already-existing Angel Arm.

Abilities: Effigies are noticeably stronger than the humans they loosely resemble, being about as powerful as an Ardor or a Greed Hell. Though not much faster than humans, they strike with significantly more ferocity and can take much more punishment.

Appearance: All Effigies mostly resemble humans, except for their right arms and skeletons. Made of gold and angelic marble, their right arms are fairly easy to distinguish from a distance. No two Effigies are alike, and each of them manifest their flaws in different ways.

By virtue of their own race, you would be allied to humanity, but by virtue of religion you stand by the angels. Your character and the Vatican would work quite often with the DHO, who have members of the Vatican among it's ranks too I would imagine. The faction will be discussed, and even added if you manage to get enough players for it, three players should suffice. For now you'll be a subset of DHO.

For now, your character. Other than needing to add the level for your styles and equipment, it looks good. I'm assuming Smite will be a mode change, not a super-attack. If it is just a mode change, you should add it in the weapon description instead.

@Scrapula Ah. Godhand, an amusing game. Everything looks good, just add levels for Style and Weapon, also the name God Trigger suggests something a lot stronger, so you can maybe save it for some kind of upgrade later, and go with Angel Trigger instead. Otherwise, I think it looks good. Look into speaking with Lmpkio for angel stuff.

@kapuchu Let's not point these out unless they put zero effort into it. Bee's put effort into his character. Plus that backstory and sense of justice and fighting evil is kind of a common trope for these characters.

@ProPro Just note that Gomory is very powerful, before you do anything rash. Plus Nero's Devil Bringer is currently covered by a long glove, and it only matters that Gomory, the demoness, doesn't spot him for his stealth to work. Still you are playing to his advantage. You get her attention, Nero gets a chance to strike her down.
