EDIT: @Inkd Bull Just to bug you more, is it possible for a guardian to have had more than one charge/have been in another soul link before? Say, something happened to the previous person and he found another one? I have an idea for my character that he was once a being of healing but due to irresponsibility his charge was killed or something, and now he's being punished by *insert otherworldly power here* and turned into a being of darkness and decay, which has soured his demeanour and made him more cynical and nihilistic.

You know. To totally jack the Deadpool arc. XD Sound plausible? I would imagine that since guardian's seem to exist to guard their human, losing one is a horrible sin and it sort of destroys/curses them when it happens. I would imagine it would result in a weaker soul link as well?

Also, do the guardians know/know of the others, or do they think they are the only ones? Since there's a spirit realm, is there some kind of hierarchy (for lack of a better comparison, kind of like the hierarchy of angels)?

@Duthguy Forgive my double post, but don't the healing and decay people need to be exclusively that colour to use the magic? I didn't think you could mix another colour with healing.

Name: Nova Zannella

Birthplace: A tiny town in Pennsylvania, USA
Appearance: Before the soul link she had wavy brown hair, a rounder face, and brown eyes. After soul link her hair goes black, straightens out and grows longer, almost matching her gaurdian’s hair exactly. Her face also narrows and slims, and her eyes become a bright blue. She is about 5’2”, with an average body type.
Personality: She is a very anxious person, nervous around new people and new situations, but is also easily adaptable. Once she gets used to something she opens up and is quite friendly. She wants everyone to get along, but understands this isn’t possible all the time. She will still try her best to make it so, though! She is a bit of an airhead though, and doesn’t always get jokes right away, to the amusement of her peers.
Bio: Pretty much grew up a small town girl. Everyone knew everyone and the grocer was only a three-minute walk away. The facility scares her, but her parents were so proud when she was chosen to attend some prestigious academy in another country that they practically packed her bags for her. She left behind two very close friends, and misses everyone back at home a great deal.
Other: She loves art! Painting, drawing, any other medium you think of, she loves to do art!

Appearance (Butterfly): A swallow tail look, but the normally black design is a deep dark purple, almost black, and the normally yellow wings are a lighter shade of purple.

Her eyes are always closed, like in the first picture. And she has three tails. She has no apparent mouth but can still speak, no one quite understands how.

Class: Caster
Magic: Purple- Illusion. Like the kitsune she is, her magic comes from creating alternate ‘realities’ or altering an already existing reality. She has not mastered many things yet, but so far she can change her shape, and can do a number of things to small inanimate objects. She can also create objects from thin air, but nothing big, yet.
Personality: She is the mysterious type. While she can speak, she doesn’t often. Usually she just floats along with her human. She also is prone to pulling small pranks on others, her human included.

1) The soul link or "bond" is like the guardians way of granting you access to their arsenal. Dear god stop with the bleach comparisons lol Just like a soul reaper, sort of, gets their power from their zanpakuto. Without it, what can they really do (without turning to hado or kido)? They are pretty.... Weak/useless. So can a guardian forcefully soul link? Sure, i guess i could allow it, but you have to think about the complications that would come from forcing it because everything won't be dandy if it's forced. The character may not be able to use its full power/ internally it would be a constant power struggle, making them seem slightly more deranged if anything with the whole stopping the fight and "get out of my body!" thing/ they could even pop out of the soul linked mode, in the middle of a battle, if the human regains control/ Not to mention the external problems that could arise, like how much do you think such a characters' teammates would like to fight next to somebody that isn't 100% reliable in a fight? All that being said, I can understand if a character isn't fully willing to commit to this new path they've been set on and i'll allow it simply because im curious to see how we will work around having a liability.... BUT! How can they keep up the sherades? Sooner or later they will have to come to terms with the hand that's been dealt to them or they're just going to continue putting themselves/teammates at risk.

2)There is still one more spot for decay, that nobody else has shown an interest for, so u can save that for you if you want it.

3) I know i said that i can save the other decay spot for you, but i will add this as a "bonus answer". To twist restoritive magic in such a way would no longer make it healing. It'd be more along the lines if biokinesis

@Inkd Bull Splendid. Thanks for the answers. I'll work out a CS then with decay in mind, most probably. If decay doesn't work out for me at all I will make sure to notify you today or tomorrow at the very latest, so someone else can have that slot.

That is exactly what I had in mind. Eventually my human would accept the guardian, but not right away. And I'm aware of the disadvantages this brings. Actually that's exactly what I found interesting about the idea.

@Duthguy While air and wind magic may seem to be the same thing, i hope this can clarify a few things for you:

-Air Magic is a Magic which gives its user the ability to manipulate the air around them and use it as a weapon, such as making it explode or lowering the oxygen levels in a certain area.The air can also be manipulated in simple ways, such as using it for levitating.

-Air magic users could also do something like create an oxygen bubble, so others can breathe underwater or maybe place a target within a bubble that drains the oxygen (eventually suffocating them). Just a couple of examples.

-Wind magic allows the user to generate/ manipulate the wind around them. Wind Magic grants high offensive power, allowing the user to assault enemies in different ways: the most prominent aspect of such Magic lies in the ability to give the wind cutting properties, manifesting it in the form of fast-moving air blades which are employed at mid-to-long range; they can also generate powerful gusts of wind to inflict blunt damage upon enemies and send them flying away, and even form hurricanes of various scales, which, in addition to their rotational power

@Obscene SymphonyI'm not entirely sure what you mean by a guardian "losing" it's human partner. Like did they just run away? Whatever the case, obviously don't live forever and not to mention..."How did you lose your partner guardian??.... "Ummm, shit happens?" Lol. So the idea of a guardian having been with multiple partners would be totally plausible. Though i'm still having trouble figuring out how they would be punished by switching up the power, if that were even possible. In my head, if a guardian were to commit a terrible crime or something, they'd just be killed in the spirit realm or cast away with the evil spirits, unable to find a partner to soul link with again. Maybe I just have a cold heart xD

Hmmm.... The only thing i can think of, if they used to be healing my mind goes to something beautiful/ charming/ elegant/ etc. Maybe they commited an act that was the complete opposite of these things, but because it wasn't as serious or because of somebody they knew with more influence they were not killed or casted away for it?

Other than that... Holy cow, you're really about to get deep into it lol

@DuthguyA user of wind magic would still be able to... Sort of... "Fly" if the wind was used underneath them to keep them up.

@Inkd Bull I should explain better.

In my mind, the guardian was once a healer. He was given a charge to look after, a pretty at-risk kid. You know, troubled youth or whatever. However, the guardian was young (as spirits go) and irresponsible. As a result of this irresponsibility, the human dies. Maybe they were killed, or died in a preventable way, but it wasn't anything natural. I would imagine this is a horrible "sin" in the spirit world, and he was punished, stripped of his healing power and cursed to darkness and decay. Like you said, maybe cast out with the evil spirits.

Then, a long time later (AKA now) somebody somewhere decides to give him a chance to redeem himself, and he is assigned another charge. He is now jaded and changed from his time in exile, to the point where he is no longer recognizable, physically or emotionally. That make more sense?

What if for those spirits that are more tangible it takes energy to go through walls...
So if they go through multiple they will be pretty wiped out/tired and need to rest

@Obscene Symphony I understand what you're getting at, i was just trying to work it around what i believe the spirit realm would be like once it's introduced later on in the story. However... You are going the extra mile and giving your guardian much more of a background, when one isn't really required. So, we can try and go with it.

@WeepingLibertyYes we are very much so still taking interest :) there's a CS that's probably lost somewhere a couple of pages back by now, whenever you're ready to work on a character

I like where your heads at, but I think it'll just be pretty "cut & paste" as far as the whole tangibility/phase thing goes. All guardians (unless they made of smoke or something of course) will be tangible and have the ability to phase through objects. Phasing would only be used in the "living world". Remember, when they are in the spirit world, guardians are "normal" and won't be able to phase through objects

@BlackPanther i would much rather keep the butterfly. Without out it, it pretty much renders the whole concept pointless. We might as well dump it and just say "spirits with magical abilities pop out of nowhere and reveal themselves to their human partner"
