Ensign Tomimi Tanzi, AEUG Mobile Suit Pilot - MS-09R-2 Rick Dom II 'Debris'
29 y/o, 5'6", Long Black Hair, Brown Eyes
Tomimi Tanzi was born in the Autonomous Republic of Munzo in 0059 U.C. as the daughter of loyal followers of the famed Zeon Zum Deikun, leader of a newly formed resistance movement against the Earth Federation. Throughout her childhood, she was taught his theories and indoctrinated in the ideals of Side-ism and the theories of Newtypes. At any rally Zeon attended, Tomimi would have been in the crowd with her family, cheering him on with tears in their eyes. To them, this was the only freedom they could have from the corruption of the Earth Federation.
At the young age of nine, she was witness to the final speech of Zeon Zum Deikun, in which he collapsed over his lectern and began to die. For her, this was as major an incident as losing a family member. She was practically inconsolable for days on end after his death. When the rumor spread that he had been poisoned by the Earth Federation, her ideals only grew stronger and more radical. She understood before many others that the only way the Side's could achieve independence would be through force. And so, her allegiances switched to the newly governing Zabi family.
Much like she had done before with Zeon, Tomimi attended every rally of the Zabi family she could, amazed at how the ideals of the man she had been taught as being irreplaceable could be explained so clearly by this new force in Munzo. They had been selected by Zeon himself after all, so they must have been experts in his philosophies! They were refining it! And now they ruled Side 3, or as it was now known, the Principality of Zeon.
Tomimi's education and family life began to change quite rapidly. Her school was now governed by the Zabi family and all of a sudden, everyone around her was a staunch supporter of Zeon's ideals too. His philosophies were taught in class as part of standard education and due to her history, she found herself in high esteem among her peers and constantly receiving preferential treatment from her teachers. It all helped to solidify her beliefs even further. She was right all along! Zeon would change everything, even in death. Through the Zabi family, she would be there to witness how life changed for the better.
Her family however... This was her only problem in this new life. Her family for some reason could not trust the Zabi's. Despite everything they had done to prove themselves in changing Side 3 to meet Zeon's ideals, they simply couldn't accept Degwin Zabi as a successor. Barely a day went by without another hateful rumor about one member of the family or another. Before long, Tomimi was drifting from her family and simply couldn't bring herself to be around them. In 0076, her family was killed in an explosion with no known cause. Tomimi didn't take long to reach the conclusion that the explosion was caused by supporters of the Earth Federation. It was at the age of seventeen that she lied about her age to get into the military, giving herself a new home, a new life and a new purpose. It was clear that soon enough, war was going to break out between the Principality of Zeon and the Earth Federation. She wanted to be there on the front lines when it happened.
The One Year War was not kind to anyone, and Tomimi was lucky to have survived in one piece as she did. She moved about rapidly through the Zeon forces, from a Seamen to a Lieutenant towards the ending months of the war, and along with the ranks she went through a plethora of suits. From a Zaku I, to a Zaku II, and a brief but nearly disastrous stint in the MS-07B Gouf ( She still claims the suit is too light for her to handle properly. ), and finally into the Dom family. Towards the end of the war, with skilled pilots becoming a rarity, Tomimi was pulled from Earth operations to space, and given a Rick Dom II, to replace her ground-locked Dom and in preparation for the upcoming battle of A Baoa Qu, the decisive engagement of the War. During the ensuing battle, she was lucky to be clear of the line where Amuro Ray was engaged with the fabled Red Comet himself, and against the standard fare Jims and such, she helped hold the E Field with Col. Kuspen's combat battalion.
However, the result of the battle is a forgone conclusion, and so it comes as no shock to anyone that following the collapse of the Zeon forces, many of it's defenders fled into the reaches of space. Tomimi did this herself, making for her old home, Side 1, Colony 13. She ended up settling into hiding on one of the unfinished and decrepit colonies nearby, never finished as a result of the Earth Federations freeze on further colonial expansion, and it was here that she would wait. Until 0083 however, and the following years. With the outbreak of renewed rebellion and the colony drop by the Delaz Fleet, the TITANS came into being, hellbent on ripping Zeon remnants out violently. Tomimi was not immune to this drive, and she barely managed to evade a pursuing squad of newly made Hizacks in 0087. Alone and lost in space, it took her months before she turned up in Side 6, just as the AEUG was growing into a proper force.
Although her goals were different from theirs, Tomimi's view was that they shared enough in common to justify working together, and in 0088, she offered her services to the lingering Hawthorn, being granted command of a squadron of her own as a result of her ability at the controls of a mobile suit.
