Personality:
Asahi is a big guy and tends to have a big presence. Outspoken and dramatic, he might be a popular guy if he ever worked on his image. He’s nice and generous, often helping others or giving them gifts for the sake of giving them away. While he can certainly be patient to a length, he has very little tolerance for ignorance and hate. Despite his bulk he can be quite physical and often uses his sheer size as an advantage to enact violence onto others. Asahi gets bored, and when he gets bored he can sometimes put aside his usual kindness and play pranks and tricks on others, sometimes harmless, sometimes harmful.

Asahi’s constant attempts to befriend others stems from his own self-doubt due to his body image. He personally doesn’t care about how he looks and just wants people to like him for who he is, so he often acts like a fool or tries to be likeable in order to make friends who are willing to look past his meaty shape. Asahi can also come off as very strange, as he’s quite open about his perversions and intentions, even if he should keep them to himself (He often can, but may opt not to do so simply to disturb others). Asahi’s self-doubt also creates contempt towards himself, which he contains but eventually just becomes a fury which has no meaning or direction. There are times when he’s simply angry and wants to hurt people, so does his best to avoid others until he can cool off.

Abilities:
Asahi has psychic powers that manifests into two forms: Telepathy and Telekinesis. His telepathy allows him to read the thoughts of others, specifically able to filter thoughts in another person’s mind to find what he’s looking for. Asahi can also use this on multiple people at a time if they are near him, and can speak into their minds for wordless communication. If he makes physical contact with them he can even delve into their memories, perceiving it through his own senses. Another lesser known power of his telepathy allows him to traverse into other people’s dreams with some lucid control of himself, but he can only do this when he himself is asleep, and will be forced out if he or the other person wakes up. Asahi lacks a fine control of this power, so he can end up in anyone’s dream without either of them being prepared for it.

Asahi’s telekinesis gets stronger the closer the manipulated objects is to him, and is at it's strongest when he’s touching it. While Asahi’s physical power is within human range, his telekinetic strength is superhuman, capable of tossing and stopping things ten times his weight or strength, allowing him to even fly and levitate with little trouble. His telekinetic powers can also be “Shaped” in his mind, creating physical objects which he can use. These objects are translucent, but he can will them to be completely invisible if he so desires.

As for natural abilities, Asahi is not as fast as he used to be, but he’s still plenty strong and durable. His reflexes are also still top notch, able to see and intercept things moving at great speeds, appropriate for the best batter in school.

Skills:
One of Asahi’s most valued skills is his baseball abilities. He’s got a good hand-eye coordination to make decent pitches, the reflexes to catch or hit fast moving balls, and the strength to consistently get homerun hitters (Or at least a base or two). He’s also pretty good at dashing, sliding, and jumping, but he’s not nearly as fast as he used to be due to his additional weight. Still more acrobatic than you’d expect a chubby kid like him to be. Just don’t expect him to place anywhere in a race.

Asahi used to do gymnastic as a kid, but aside from his mad jumps and the ability to do a split, he’s lost a good bit of those skills. He isn’t as flexible as he used to be nor light on his feet. He does have a pretty good sense of balance however, allowing him to stand perilously on narrow points for whatever reason he might have.

Additionally Asahi was always a fan of food, mostly noodles, but also anything with meat. He can serve up anything from a mean bowl of ramen to a stroganoff, BBQ some ribs and hot dogs or make a classy Beef Wellington. He’s not too bad as a sushi chef either and can work with pasta fairly well.

A skill that Asahi likes to use often is his ability to cheat at card and board games, and not even using his powers either (Though they can help immensely). Quick hands and sharp eyes allow him to peek and pocket cards on the table, and he knows how to flick his fingers on the dice to get the numbers he wants. Asahi is just as good cheating at arcade games too, though he usually uses his powers to help him at things like prize grabbers or air hockey.

Other skills that Asahi has that aren’t really important but no less impressive is his ability to find missing socks and underwear, the speed in which he can brush his teeth and take a shower/bath (Often at the same time), identifying flowers by scent alone, writing stuff down, eat food quickly without getting a stomach ache or making a mess, knit and sew dolls and clothes, fairly resistant to the effects of alcohol (Hates the taste though), counting the amount of change he has in his pockets down to the penny, and applying the price of taxes to his purchases. Asahi also keeps an eye out for deals and collects coupons for everything from groceries to technology and even obscure stuff like exotic pets and fortune telling.

Brief Backstory: Asahi was born to a couple of otaku parents who wanted their son to be cooler than them. They tried to get Asahi into things like martial arts, gymnastic, cram school, baseball, and other things. Only a few stuck, baseball in particular, but all the things his parents kept making him do made Asahi very stressed and eventually he just chose to quit. Before Asahi was a healthy kid thanks to all the stuff they made him do, but after he quit he started to eat more, shut himself in his room, and gain weight. His parents tried to get him back into shape, but he hated how they kept trying to control him and use him for their own egos. Asahi didn’t have it easy either, as his additional weight gain eventually kicked him off the baseball team (The one thing he kept doing after quitting the other clubs) and got him picked on by bullies at his school. Eventually things took a turn for the worse when one day Asahi followed one of his bullies home and challenged him to a fight in front of his own family, wielding a baseball bat.

Afterwards Asahi and his family had to go through some therapy, and it didn’t take immediately. But after a while Asahi was able to forgive his parents when he realized that they were losers just like he was, and so he tried to go back to school. Of course he couldn’t go back to his old school, so he was transferred to a new school, which turned out to also be a school for magically inclined children. Asahi himself didn’t have any notable magical powers at the time, but after a fateful encounter with a magic cat, he developed psychic powers and started to hone them. When he graduated middle school, he sought out a magical high school where he could further hone his magic abilities and maybe make some new friends.

Okay, um...

Teeend to have an issue with mind reading in RP's unless I'm really trusting of the person using it. The telekinesis isn't limited in a way that indicates he couldn't solve any eventual fights by flinging the enemy/monsters around. Invisible psychic constructs are out, for sure.

Alright, tends to be the case. While I'm willing to power him down, I would like to ask what you'd find as acceptable telekinetic/telepathic abilities, since I've found that a lot of GM's tend not to like either powers.

Personally, I just want to be able to have Asahi capable of flight without costing too much energy, and the ability to control multiple game controllers at once so he can be his own team in video games. And eat food without touching it so he can keep playing games. If it comes to combat he can use his telekinesis to empower his strikes as well as potentially use anything as a thrown weapon/floating shield. Living people/creatures are too hard for him, and some things are too heavy (Nothing that he himself can't reasonably lift and use). Though I'd still like if he could use his telekinetic ability and his reflexes to catch things out of the air, such as other thrown weapons and stuff. Bullets and arrows would be going too fast for him to detect anyways, so don't worry about him doing those things unless he gets a reflex boost from an outside source.

As for Telepathy I'm willing to drop that I suppose, but I do want to keep his ability to be in control of himself in other people's dreams just for the potential lolz that it'd make. But if possible I'd at least like to keep telepathic communication open, so that he can receive and give messages to people who are willing to listen/think to him.

  • Appearance: She both has the hat and refuses to remove the hat unless it's actually necessary. She's also alarmingly tall--who the hell expects a 6'4 schoolgirl?
  • Personality: If you wanted to pick two words to describe her, it would be 'loud' and 'enthusiastic'. Kitty seems committed to doing things at high speed and with maximum volume, in a strange contrast to the careful dedication and patience that her particular spells use. She also doesn't seem to be easily embarrassed or shamed, though being reprimanded for her enthusiasm can curb it... for about five minutes.
    Her love of cats is vast and extends to vaguely cat-related things--such as the plush toy that has been primed with an emergency blinding flash and thus comes with her a lot, or even catgirls. Not that there are many of those around.
  • Abilities: Kitty's speciality is witchcraft. That is, rather than the 'standard' approach to magic, her spells come from one that takes the methods normally used to boost the potency of spells and treat them as an essential component. Whilst the curriculum would generally treat elaborate runic circles (even if they're mental), ingredients, and lengthy chants as an 'if you need to do anything big' type thing, witchcraft uses it as the absolute baseline for anything above the most menial piece of magic. The result is that for the most part, her choice for spells boils down to 'spent ten minutes on it' or 'here's one I prepared earlier!' (potion, random enchanted object, or nearly-finished ritual--take your pick!) On the plus side, something that treats even beginner spells as advanced magic can provide quite a lot of oomph even if you're still learning...
    As for her actual interests: it's not magic if it isn't flashy. Lasers, explosions, and fireworks purely for the sake of it tend to encompass anything she's prepared in advance or studied in detail. Of course, as things go, she's got a good grasp of the basics, so given time to prepare and enough resources, she can do something beyond her preferences.
  • Skills: With witchcraft proper requiring a variety of skills that tend to boil down to 'precise measurements', Catherine is by necessity good at ingredient preparation, drawing to a specification, and judging these things at a moment's notice. Therefore, along with her interest in trying new things, she's a good person to go to if you want some random meal from a random country prepared. Also, despite her size, she's pretty good at slipping in and out of places without attracting attention.
  • Brief Backstory: Kitty has a wholly unremarkable life: her mother was a witch, her father someone with all the magical ability of a concussed tadpole despite his own upbringing... naturally she learned from her mother. Proper education is, of course, important, so she was eventually enrolled in Ishikawa and given a cat of her own for use in those spells that for some reason require a familiar. Not that her current knowledge is enough to evaluate why exactly a confused feline can contribute to making magical explosions, but she's of the opinion that the cat she happily named 'Dog' is useful for this purpose.

@Volenvradica: Accepted, though what I mention below is important for him too. I'll also point out that in Japan 5'4 isn't exactly pint-sized in terms of height. ^^;

@Lucius Cypher: Okay, I think I've figured out what wasn't sitting well with me with that.

Mostly in that something like that should be spells, stuff he had to learn. ^^;

Telekinesis Spells:
Levitate - Asahi is able to make him and objects near him float into the air around him. He can focus this spell to grant him personal flight, and the objects can orbit around him so they are within arm's reach. They can even serve as shields if needed. However he can only lift relatively lightweight objects 20 pounds or less, and they have to be inanimate.

Force Wave - Asahi sends a physic blast of force towards a direction. This can be as soft as a poke or as forceful as a punch, with more focus put into it making it stronger, but takes longer to cast. Any disruption to his concentration while he's charging up his Force Wave will make him lose the spell and force him to start over. Asahi can also use a Force Wave to send objects he's levitating flying as if he had thrown them.

Mage Hands - Asahi is capable of manipulating and interacting with objects within his sight without touching them, but as if he was using his own hands for it. This allows him to operate complicated mechanisms like video game controls or weapons without having to touch them, freeing his hands to do other things. While he won't feel any difference between lifting and using a 10 pound object any more than he would a 100 pound object, whatever he's manipulating has to be something that Asahi himself could lift and carry. Only works on inanimate things.

Telepathy Spells:
Message - Asahi and up to 10 other people (Or less) near him can communicate with each other solely through telepathic messages. They would "Hear" the thoughts that they want to send to each other, but otherwise can't pick up any other thoughts they don't want to send to others. Those affected by Asahi's message spell are free to communicate with each other so long as they are near Asahi. Asahi can also use his message spell on one person that he can see who isn't anywhere close to him, but he has to be able to at least be able to see them. People can easily block out Asahi's message spell if they do not want to communicate with him, but only after he tries to contact them first.

  • Aluminum Hat - Due to the low level nature of a Message Spell, there are ways to block it without having to make a conscience effort. A hat or otherwise cranial cover made of a thin sheet of aluminum foil is capable of blocking out the mind waves send by a Message Spell, however it would fail on higher level telepathy spells. Conversely, should Asahi wear his own Aluminum Hat and shape it correctly so that it's more akin to a crown, he can actually increase the range and number of people he can send a message to, up to 20 people within a quarter mile radius of himself. THE HAT MUST BE MADE OF ALUMINUM! TIN IS INEFFECTIVE!


Dream Walk - A subconscious power that Asahi has a very limited control over, it nonetheless works when it should. This Spell allows Asahi to not only be completely lucid and in control of himself in dreams and dreamlike states, this will allow Asahi to be in other people's dreams and do stuff in there. Due to Asahi's limited control, this spell will always activate, but it only works when Asahi himself is asleep, and thus he can only go into the dreams of others who is asleep around the same time he is. Additionally the dreams Asahi finds himself in are often random, though he's more likely to be in the dreams of those around him then those further away.

  • Dream Catcher- Not a spell but an object related to it. Dream Catchers can be used to stop someone from Dream Walking into their dreams. Conversely, if a piece of hair is woven into the Dream Catcher of the Dream Walker, they are more likely to be able to enter the dreams of whoevers hair was woven into the threads.





The Dream Catcher and Aluminum Hat are just little extras that people can use to affect his telepathy spells. That way those scared of Asahi reading their minds can just put on an aluminum hat, or sleep with a dream catcher over their bed.

    Clara, starting from the top, has orange-red hair, that reaches down past her shoulders. Sometimes it's brushed, sometimes it's not. She has brown eyes.

    Her clothes are rather normal. She typically wears a plain blue shirt, with a jacket over top, as well as a pair of pants from a men's clothing store that she got so she could actually have usable pockets.

    Beyond that, she wears a simple pair of white tennis shoes.

    She is fairly tall, about 5'7, or 170 cm.
  • Personality:

    Clara is an odd one, to say the least. Not just in the normal sense, but in the fact that she acts very different depending on where she is and what it is she's doing. For example,

    Normally, Clara is very eccentric. Doing nonsensical things simply because she can, and saying things that are utter nonsense to anyone but herself, unless she's saying something that does make sense. In that case she means the exact opposite. Of course, all of this is intentional on her part. No one is quite sure why she acts like this, but it soon becomes apparent that it's all an act... maybe.

    In class however, she becomes very serious, quiet, and when she does speak she is very straightforward, and talks normally. She is also a bit of a teachers pet. Getting her work done on time, offering to help the teachers, and... not being afraid to tell an authority figure when she catches someone doing something they shouldn't be doing.

    Something of note, Clara has a fear of heights. Even with guard rails, she does not do well with walkways more then a couple stories off the ground.
  • Abilities:

    Darkness magic:

    Clara uses darkness magic. However, due to the negative connotations surrounding such magic, she does her best to use it in rather unconventional ways. Rather then focusing on its destructive abilities, and it's natural affinity for causing pain, she instead focuses on its supportive and defensive abilities. Not that she can't use its offensive ones, it is simply that she prefers not to use, nor learn how to use them. What she can use is listed below, in order from offensive, defensive, and supportive



    Offensive magic:

    Shadow bolt: A simple bolt of dark magic. It serves the general purpose of hurting, and has the added effect of blinding the opponent.

    Torment: more of a curse really, the effect is similar to that of being drugged, but far nastier. The world begins to fade, lose focus, and wobble. Shortly after, a terror takes hold of the target, and they begin to see various monsters chasing them. Forcing them to run. The effects only last ten minutes however. (Open to nerfing)

    Defensive:

    Dark cloak: a shadow falls over the area, hiding Clara and any allies. Of course any locating magic, or even night vision goggles would allow them to be seen. But to the naked eye, they are essentially invisible.

    Shadowstep: allows Clara to step into and move between shadows. Essentially melting into them. With this, she is able to move quickly throughout an area, so long as there is a shadow in it. This also leaves her invisible like the above, however it only affects herself, and it requires stronger magic to find her.

    Supportive:

    Refresh: a shroud of darkness covers an ally, cooling the area should it be too hot, and bringing it to a comfortable temperature. The shroud also relaxes the ally, allowing them to recover faster from attacks to mental stability.

    Heal: a variation on dark magics more necromantic magic. Rather then bringing the dead back to life, it is able to heal small wounds. It's port is weakened, as stronger magic would cause the wound to zoom past healed and into rotted. Due to being weakened it can only do small things, such as stop bleeding, or repair small cuts such as those that would occur from a paper cut, or if one cut themselves while cooking.

  • Skills:

    Balance: Clara has amazing balance. Probably from her many nonsensical acts. She could very well be a tight rope walker, we're it not for this fear.

    Attentive: one wouldn't know it, but Clara is very attentive to detail. All the better to catch her classmates in the act.

    Perfectionist: Clara is a bit of a perfectionist. Which means that things she does comes out a bit better them others at similar skill levels as her, but she takes longer, and may not even finish something, as even a small mistake can cause her to redo the whole thing.
  • Brief Backstory: Clara doesn't have all that interesting a life. She simply lived with her parents until they sent her to a different magic school in europe. However the school closed down, and she was transferred to ishikawa academy in Japan, because of cheap plane tickets it's superior classes.

I will say, being a completely original character, her personality is a bit vague right now. I'll decide how extreme she is on either side of the scale while using her.

@Lucius Cypher: I'm going to be honest and say I don't necessarily see the dream thing coming up a lot, mostly because I don't think everyone wants to RP sleeping while one person gets to do dream stuff. ^^;

@Absolis: Okay, I will say I didn't really plan for darkness to have any particular negative connotations, but the abilities themselves don't seem particularly bad. Though is torment avoidable?

Honestly, if a student can get into other people's dreams, intentionally or not, wouldn't they install things to prevent it in every room? It seems like a rather awkward invasion of privacy.

@VitaVitaAR true, but like missing socks or brushing my teeth, it's mostly for flavor than for any practical purpose. I like the idea of having lucid dreams, so I figured Asahi would have something that allows him to have lucid dreams. The fact he enters other people's is just a cool quirk. It's not suppose to be useful or important is what I'm saying, but it does tell a little about Asahi.

You may as well say everyone should also have aluminum hats and the ability to detect any invisible person. There are many ways magic can be used for perversion, I just happen to chose a spell that can enable that.

Frankly any type of illusions, Telepathy, or shapes gifting can be used for perverted or invasive acts. But does that mean that everyone should have a counter to those things just because of what people could do with it?

Well, talk to Vita then? I dunno what the budget of a magical school is, but hopefully they'd spare no expense to ensure maximum security overwatch on all their students.
