Okies. So what the plan?

You did leave the possibility open in that you can just up the level. I can just say that my character's been a Gamer for as long as the others, just leveled up independently between training and fighting similarly leveled enemies before her hospitalization?

I could have been that your char was beaten up by a Hunter and now wants to get back at him(them) and team up with other Gamers.

Posted. Its either your turn again Bio or Val's turn, and given where Val is, it would be just best if you go ahead and post.

Also for Aeron. How about you have been a gamer as long as silas and them (for a few days, not as long as Ren, and there are reasons for this) and you are also being targeted by hunters, so you decide to find the other gamers and team up with them for the protection of all of us (including yourself).

Also go ahead and make a CS (basic Level 1) Aeron. Then we can talk about what special skills you have obtained during this time and why you have been out of the main action for now (if your chara IS a Gamer then hospitalization wouldn't work since Gamers fully heal after resting in a bed)

Note that the gamers are all average people (I mean, your chara could have practiced martial arts, but you wouldn't have been a master, just an average person who knew some martial arts, kind of like Rainer was, a chara whose player just disappeared early in the RP. He knew martial arts, but that was it). There is a reason for this as well. For them being mostly average.

Here is the thing though, I wanted my character to be formally trained by a school. I'm thinking I want to set her in her late teens, but the average minimum age for a black belt in many martial arts is 15. Tae kwon do has no standards like this until 3rd dan testing. however, to grt a shot at a promotion chance, you have to prove the 5 tenants and uphold them. So you get a shot based on your character.

Since Capoeria does not have a formal ranking system, I'd believe that the Tae Kwon Do belt ranking would be used. In total it would take about 7 years to reach a belt rank, with 40 hours a month dedicated to training. On average, a new student would actually take 3 years to reach a black belt. Taking into account that Capoeria training would probably start in the first year, I'd say it would take around 4 years for my character to reach black belt. So, keeping the age in mind and adjusting for maturity, my character would have been 14 when she would receive her first black belt. So by the time she is 19, she'd probably be a third degree that is in the early stages of training for her fourth degree black belt. (Typically, rank of black belt=amount of years required before a promotion test can be taken. One year is taken off since the minimum hours per month is only 40. My character would have devoted much more time than 1 hour a day devoted to training. Probably closer to 5 hours per day (About 150 hours per month).

This actually plays out nicely, since to be promoted to 4th Dan, she will HAVE to be 27. That is the first age requirement since 4th Dan black belts can actually test others for their First Degree Black Belts in Tae Kwon Do. As she is now, she can test under the supervision of a Grandmaster (8th Degree), but not for Black Belts.

I want to hash this part out before I finish my character. She essentially, grew up in a private school in a way. Yes, she trained a lot, but she was still being taught in accordance to a normal school system. But of course, she barely knows how to work a cell phone...this will be fun.

For the record: She will not have access to Magic (outside of meditation), nor will she use weaponry aside from things on her hands and throwing projectiles. She never Learned how to use a blade, bow, or hammer.

I mean... I guess regular martial arts wouldn't be too powerful anyway. She wouldn't know how to harness Ki for her attacks. She would be using a martial art of regular people, so she would just have some decent attack skills, but nothing that would be too useful against ordinary enemies (note that martial arts of the abyss are alot different than martial arts of average people). So i guess it wouldn't put your character at too fair of a disadvantage....

Note that a Gamer would have access to magic and know how to use those weapons as that is part of it. Its weather or not you possess the right Talents and Stats required to use/learn/use properly those things. A high Int and Knowledge are needed for magic. It doesn't matter what sort of special thing you have. Your 'Class' is Gamer. If you get the skill book for it or the stats/Talent scores needed, you can use it. That is one of the reasons why the few people in the abyss who know about the power (Genji Ban and Saito Tatsumi) consider the Gamer Power to be fucking bull shit XD

(If you read the Manwha, even the MC and his martial artist friend also make references to how freaking broken the Gamer Power is)

We can say your character is just good at this martial art and it would be a Talent or something that she has. Might give a couple bonuses, but its still an average people thing (like even a grandmaster or whatever of your chara's martial art... easily owned by people of the Abyss if they weren't ability users).

So under this assumption that you would just have a special Talent that makes fighting a bit easier (but doesn't necessarily give your character super abilities) I will allow this...

If the Gamer Characters are.broken by default, then my character would be be balanced XD. She needs something that breaks her too, but in a different way. I'd like to class her gloves and feet coverings as weapons in the game. That way, she can use her special talent and still be relevant. In addition, I'd like for her to still have basic knowledge of magic since every Gamer knows it automatically.

In return, she is restricted to her gloves (or gloves similar to the ones she wears), metal knuckles, or spiked gauntlets, throwing knives, and powders for weapons. She will be lightly armored, and her Talent modifies her stats: Strength is at -5 at all times/does not count towards damage/only counts for half of its normal towards HP. Dexterity counts for damage x3 with a .2 increase in damage every level, Intelligence is +1, and Wisdom +1, Luck increases .1 every level.

This way, she is able to be useful, still have room to grow, but no more broken than the other Gamers. She is still broken, but she can at least take on the lower leveled creatures. Also, this will be level 1 of this Talent. The more she levels this, the better her DEX and LUK buffs (the others are static). Likewise, the more she uses skills related to this talent, the better more she levels it. This is to ensure that she stays away from weapons and magic unless her Talent unlocks related skills. (I.e. She knows how to throw knives, but she can't until level 3. She knows how to use Poison Powder or Paralyzing Powder but came use it until level 5 and has a level 2 ability in Creating. And so on)

Does that sound fair?

Uhhhh.....

Uhhhhhhhh.....

*Brain explodes*

So confused right now XD

Also powders? so you want your character to know Alchemy? (Cause that shit is created with alchemy, not martial arts...)

Your chara can wield any weapon (that is what Weapon Mastery Skills are for, you get better with certain weapons). Gamer charas all are supposed to seem OP (the OP thing is more of a running joke in the fact that they are fucking cheaters who can learn nearly anything within basic limits, as mentioned by the gamer power being called "Bullshit" multiple times. It is a running joke in the manwha, but also has heavy implications all over as well)

From the sounds of it, your character is just like the NPC character whose name is Sumi Ban. Her specific, special style of martial arts (the Raijinken) uses speed to create destructive force. In that case, I would just give you something like that. Dex is applied to bonus damage as is Str as a passive skill that comes with your talent (also lets you use a part of your score in that Talent as an additional speed damage bonus). Martial arts though are mainly powered up through the usage of Ki or Spirit techniques (like the Hiragaiya Tamashi no Nessho that silas has or the Ban Family Inner Ki Techniques that Sasha and Silas have) as these techniques allow their abilities to go beyond the normal limitations (it is what gives Martial Artists who are Ability Users the ability to go beyond normal human limitations to become Acquired Ability Users)

I will give you this though. Its basic stuff and you can get more complex skills that power up your abilities later. Your Talent Skill will allow you to attack, parry (as unarmed, which does invoke penalties unless you acquire skills or special gauntlets that state otherwise) and dodge (as do all other martial arts techniques). Silas really needs to learn the Ban Family Sword Techniques from Genji, cause then he could get things like this as well. Same goes for Sasha and her own martial arts/sword techniques.

What will give this that 'Gamer Broken Bull Shit' you are looking for is that this won't put stress on your charas body (if you hadn't read the IC, you will discover that Gamers' bones cannot be broken, any damage they take just drains HP and hurts like it should (which is usually hurts a whole freaking lot). So unless the specific skill/technique you are using is potentially dangerous if failed to execute properly, it won't damage you)

There, problem solved. Now stop making my brain explode.

Haha, ok. That works.

The reason why my character can't use weapons (even though they are available to her) is because of the style itself. There is literally no room or time to use a weapon unless it is already attached to you. Not to mention the havoc and injuries an attached weapon could do to the user. Capoeria consists of a lot of movement and acrobatics...a lot of spinning. They could literally hit themselves in the face with it XD. Gauntlets or gloves will be best used for weapons.

And yes, using powder would require some alchemy knowledge (hence why it is unlockable) Easily hidden and applied, a powder would be rather useful for a capoerista to use since nearly every motion can be used to throw, punch, or kick it into the opponent's face. a small pocket of it can be hidden on her person without affecting her weight.

Using a powder doesn't require alchemical knowledge. (Anyone can blow dust in someone's face, its not rocket science)

Its making the powder that requires it (you could also buy it, but that is expensive... well... depends upon what kind you want)

Start your chara at basic level one for the sake of convenience, we will discuss how she levels up after that.
