*Elewynn shakes her head*
Elewynn: It's destructive. Not just because you can harm someone, but you drain away the very life of something. Even the dead aren't safe from it, some mages even use dead companions as fuel for their powers.
*Finnick sets his now empty mug down*
Finnick: Some use living ones. But I try to not hang around those ones. Why waste a good companion when you get just as much energy out of them when they're dead.

*Lecter growls at the sight of the Praetorians, and makes it his goal to kill them*
*However, he doesn't want to abandon the rice beater (Beatrix), and engages the mutated creature with arm blades*
Lecter: What's the bet that mine are better?

*Elewynn's face darkens slightly, and she nods*
Elewynn: Entropy magic. It's a dark art, and not many can master it. I prefer dealing with the Fade than using life force or blood. Not everyone thinks that way, however.
*She glances at Finnick with her last comment, though her tone has no sign of spite in it towards him*

*Elewynn shakes her head*
Elewynn: Some use blood instead of the Fade for magic. But that type of magic is very dangerous, and volatile.
*Finnick looks up from his glass at the mention of blood magic*
Finnick: But it can be worth the risk, if you don't suck at it. Which means that you'll end up being a stain on the ground, and maybe leave a small crater where you used to be.

*Lecter opens fire on the creatures with his pistol, and activates his Devil Trigger while following after Beatrice*
Lecter: Reminds me of home in the wrong way.
*He twirls Karma through his fingers as he dashes forwards, ready to let Karma spill blood*

*Elewynn nods, somewhat surprised by Taboo's eagerness*
Elewynn: Another realm. Demons and spirits reside there. It's also where we go when we dream, and allows us to use magic.

Name: Finnick Rachten

Age: 74

Fandom: Dragon Age

Skills: Various magic arts, intelligence, and cunning

Fears: Being possessed, losing Elewynn, running out of alcohol and drugs, and becoming a Tranquil

Likes: Drugs, magic, crude humor, Elewynn (non-romantically), prostitutes, dwarves, and bar fights

Hates: The Chantry, Templars

Description: Finnick is an older man, with his age being quite evident from the stress he's undergone in his life. However, the mage is still quick to
laugh, fight, dance, or whatever else he feels like. Finnick is almost always seen wearing a robe, and makes sure his white beard is well trimmed.

Background: Finnick was born on the eastern coast of Ferelden, and spent his late teens as a slave to a Qunari raiding party. There, he worked in a mining camp, relying on his wits to save himself from death. Whether by luck or the Maker's intervention, even Finnick doesn't know, he began to manifest a strong connection to the Fade, allowing himself great magic capabilities. However, he had never received any training, and was barely able to stop himself from causing his own gory demise while he used his newfound talents to slip away from the camp.

Even with the cruelties done to him, Finnick holds no grudge against the Qunari, but does hold a grudge against their doctrines and belief system. Likewise, while traveling the world, he learned of the cruelties that the Chantry were capable of, and quickly began to despise them.

Finnick spent his later years advancing his own magical talents, and studied unorthodox magic. During one test, he accidentally interrupted a Harrowing test, and slayed the demon before the mage in training was able to. After introducing himself to the novice, he created a plan to rescue the elf, and to get some select items from the Templars that housed her. Paying off some less than loyal Templars, Finnick was able to launch a small raid, which to his own surprise, went of surprisingly well. Not that he would admit he expected anything else.

Items: Finnick has a staff with him, originally created by a Dalish elf, Finnick has added his own traits and quirks to it.

*Lecter nods*
Lecter: Kicking a Devil's ass is fun. Sadly or not, there's a chance you'll see one if you keep hanging around. There's a certain one at large, and I haven't been able to get him to bite a bullet yet.

*Elewynn bobs her head back in forth in the 'so-so' gesture*
Elewynn: Shamans are a type of mage. They normally trained their mages to be healers, or elemental ones.
*She sighs and drinks from her glass*
Elewynn: I was about to undergo the Harrowing. They send your soul to the Fade, and you have to kill a demon. Except, I didn't see a demon, but Finnick.
*Finnick nods*
Finnick: I was trying to see if I could use the Fade to teleport. Didn't work, but I accidentally projected my soul into the Harrowing test.
*Elewynn shoots a glance at Finnick for cutting her off, and he gestures for her to continue while he goes back to his glass*
Elewynn: He already killed the demon, so I returned to my body. But not before we had a little chat. Later that day, Finnick attacked the Circle fortress, with the help of some dirty Templars. He took me out of there in the chaos, along with some other supplies. I've been with Finnick ever since.

*Finnick frowns*
Finnick: Those don't ring a bell. Maybe the natives call them something different.

*Elewynn sighs, regretting that she mentioned the Chantry*
Elewynn: They're a religious group. I... used to be one of them, before Finnick helped get me out. The way they treat their mages is-
Finnick: -Utterly shit.

*Finnick laughs and shakes his head, and he orders a rum*
Finnick: No, not enemies. I use some as mercenaries sometimes, when I can find the ones that don't serve their Empire. They're a bit of a split race, sometimes. But better than Humans, I guess.
*He shakes his head again, this time more vigorously*
Finnick: I've been travelling all over. Teverian Empire, Orlais, Ferelden, name it, I've probably been there.

*Elewynn orders some champagne and looks over at the pair*
Elewynn: Even when the Chantry is there. We'll still visit.
*Finnick smirks*
Finnick: Especially when the Chantry is there.

*Finnick shrugs*
Finnick: Long enough to get a drink. Come on, Elewynn, let's go spend the coin we definitely got legally.
*He chuckles, and follows after Taboo, with his eyes following her hips*
Finnick: And they're about seven to nine feet tall. But trust me, a good hit and they'll still go down.

*Elewynn (The Elf) just follows after Finnick, not quite feeling safe in the Room, and she keeps an eye out for exits*

*Lecter smirks, and has his arm blades and M1911 holstered/sheathed, and Karma is in his left hand, which quietly glows a dark purple*
Lecter: I'm a Devil Hunter. I just wear this because it's good on the road. I spend most of my time there, when I'm not killing whatever Hell spits up.

*Finnick returns the smile, and he notes the coldness in Taboo's eyes*
Finnick: Booze is a good start. Then I'll see if I can find a wench to get food for us. Oh, and the name is Finnick.
*He looks around the room while still smiling*
Finnick: This place see any Qunari? Tall, strong fellows with horns. They like to talk about their Empire a lot. Ooh, how about some dwarves?

*The Elf just rolls her eyes at Finnick's banter*
