Let me properly introduce myself. I am Sir Spud the Fourth, and I have been a potato for the longest time ever. I never denied it to be completely honest, but it is only recently that I embraced it. Now I have evolved from a simple couch potato to a fully grown royal potato. A dapper kawaii potato. And I dare say, knowing that you are a spud, makes life a lot easier. Just chill and let everyone else care about all their meaningless things because at the end of the day you'll know: chilling is the way to go.
I try to spend minimal effort on things that I don't care about, and procrastination might as well be my middle name. But that doesn't mean I ONLY rest. Sometimes a 'tato gotta do what a 'tato gotta do. And if that something happens to be things I like, then you cannot find anyone better than me. I am an omnipotent being capable of virtually any task to a limited degree, and I am not shy to admit it. I may not be the MOST AWESOMEST in a thing, but I am sure as hell MORE AWESOMEST than most people are at everything. But hey, I'm not here to brag, even if I am probabaly better at it than you
THE DREAMER:
All those nights laying in my couch, I thought about the cool shit that I cannot do. That I cannot see. But I pictured them in front of myself like they were real, and that infuraited me. Then I found the Guild, and I lived happily after. I have been on the site for 2 years now, and I have seen many RPs, and played with many people. I wish I have found the site earlier, but I am glad that I've even found it. Now all those fantasies can be written down and my mind can rest at ease at night, without being constantly troubled by ideas.
When I RP, I love myself some good Sci-Fi or Fantasy. But hey I am filthy casual, I can go for anything with an interesting setting. I don't trouble myself on small details if the plot is good, but if you get somwthing wrong you can expect me to tell you about it. Some even go as far as to think that I am angry or something, but I am too chill for that. If anything I'm more of the funny type, so you can expect me to try and write some shitty jokes or post memes I found on the internet. Anyways, you'll see what I mean when we RP together.
THE ARTIST:
Used to be something else here, but I'm happy to say that it's replaced because of a positive change. I now work as a full-time 3D artist in the animation industry, churning out shot after shot for some of your favorite game intros and trailers. Can't say anything about them before you even ask, and even though I'm still new to the industry I love it and I already know that this will be my passion for a long time. So hopefully in a few years I'll have a proud portfolio of animations that were done by yours truly that I can show off to all the lovely people of the guild.
THE LOVER OF STUFF:
Now I may have hobbies like the above mentioned, but there are some more things that I love in life. Here is a handy list of things you can always talk about with me:
Gaming: This one I am quite proud of, I'm a serious gamer with capital G. Not as much time for it nowadays, but still true.
Music: All kinds of electronic music, but I am a sucker for Queen and Powerwolf. Or Breakbot... anything music.
Anime: We all have an Otaku in us, but it's bigger for some people. For me it's just big enough.

Be chill folks, getting fed up about stuff is a recipe for disaster. You gotta learn to be patient and let things go, or you'll end up a wrinkly old man/woman with only bad memories about life. Well, you said they live on that planet of yours. So I am guessing that they are the appointed rulers of the planet "Icarus". If you want to switch a resource rich, and hard to invade planet to a fleet of tin cans with oxygen in them, then you are free to do so, but know that fleets need to refuel somewhere, which is kinda hard if the whole Empire is trying to shoot you down for high treason.
@Sophrus I was just thinking in my head: "How does an energy shield and an antimatter particle blaster relate to each other in a technological advancement way". In the end I have no answer, but if I had to decide between energy shields being more advanced or antimatter explosives, then I would say antimatter. Which is funny because I tried to set the tech level to a very basic space tech, so no shields and tachyon beam weapons.
Now, antimatter would be hard to get in any way. Antimatter, in its core, is not only nothing, but in fact the opposite of existing matter, even thought it is still a visible and experiancable object. I don't think more needs to be said why it would be hard to make. Anyways, I rarely use antimatter, and EVE has plenty of shields, so lets abandon this concept. On the other hand I know just the wepaon which is readely avaible, incredibly destructive, and has pretty much the same effect. Meet le "neutronium rail accelerator". You should thank @NecroKnight for this, cause without him I would never even have thought this as a legit practice to be used in a space RP. Its basically a substance amde entirely of neutrons, and it would EXPLOSIVE. It is literally a nuke compressed into the space of a sand grain. It's not some fancy thing like antimatter, but I can imagine that this is MUCH easier to make than antimatter on a large scale. And it is an excellent kamikaze weapon if you have a shitton of them.
Alternatively, you could write ma a paragraph or two about how your species extracts antimatter, but I don't think would be an easy feat. So even if its just the name, for the sake of potential uses, I would prefer if you used neutronium as an explosive warhead.
@Ozerath I figured that shields would be a biggie for your race especially. I remember your post about your general looking out the flagship's bridge and seeing the massive flak fire bounce off the shields. But please make due with alternate ways to tackle this problem for now. (Or you could always ask the Mekhar Independance for their shield tecs, but I doubt that would work out too well.)
And yes, absolutely. Psionics will be something the Empire utilizes as well, so feel free to incorporate that into your design.
Am thinkin, antimatter is a crazy powerful explosive that needs to come from somewhere. The issue is not necesaarely the weapon, but the fact that these guys can mass produce such a valuable material without effort.
@Wernher There will obviously be people who stand with him, but the general public won't support him and portray him as a traitor. I am sure he could get a small amount of support from some of the lower class military staff, and obviously a lot from xenos. As for Konev, most of the Admirals who want his rank would hate his guts for being in a high position even thought he likes xenos, and the other Grand Admirals would look down on him.
@Sophrus Looks good, so put 'er into the CS tab. The one thing you should explain to me is the anti-matter weapons. They don't exactly fit into the "no doomsday weapon" part. How do they work, so I know uf they are just an OP gun or something more destructive.

@mattmanganon Okay, that sounds way better. I guess you'll need a CS to go with that as well. However all of the AI need to live in hiding. After all the EOM keeps a close eye on all species, including yours, so if they find out that you harbour AIs they will act with EXTREME prejudice.

@WernherOh yeah, I never said he was removed of his position per se, but no one else really obeys him and trusts him as a Grand Admiral, apart from his subjects.
Also Lucretia is a petty General, as there is no way any self respecting human would give the rank of a general to a xeno. Not to mention that the Emperor wouldn't approve. This of course doesn't stop Konev's own xeno forces from obeying her.
