Bio

Salutations fellow Guild members, I am Absolute Grace, or just Grace for short.

I am a 23 year old female from the Land of Oz (Australia) and am currently a Graphic Designer.

I love writing, there is just something about weaving words together and creating a world, that I find to be completely invigorating and calming. I hope to improve my writing and one day publish a book or two, which is why I joined the Guild. I have been part of RolePlayerGuild since before the calamity known as Guildfall and have nearly ten years of experience as an RPer. Thus, I prefer writing at a High Casual to Advanced level.

Holy goodness! What a super cool idea!
Definitely interested :)
Alright, no problem. And don't worry, I'll only provide the barest of details for the authority figure such a name, appearance and personality only.

It does seem like a good idea to stop by Reef Crest since they are really into history and stuff, which could be helpful :)

EDIT = Added the governor of Reef Crest with my CS.
Oh, how exciting to see more interested people! Hello there!! :D

Just one question for you Pathfinder: do I need to create an authority figure too? Or just say that King Neptune is the authority figure for my character? Otherwise I can make up like a coral reef specific authority figure, a lord/duke/governor but nothing to rival a king in status.

Also if anyone is interested, I have contemplated other species that people could be such as seahorse mer, sea serpent/snake mer, turtle mer, manta ray mer, lobster mer. Lol just a few ideas :)

EDIT = IVIasterJay: I just thought of something, what if your character can choose when to and when not to sting/shock others? I also found this Jelly fish head/hair Which would mean that a tail fin can be there instead of the slow blobby thing.
Name: Talulah (Pronunciation=Tah-loo-laah) Zoranian

Age: Somewhere between 18-21. (I shall compare other characters ages before choosing.)

Species: Merfolk

Culture and History: Talulah was born in the eastern coral reef, at a city known as Reef Crest which is close to the reef’s escarpment, otherwise known as the edge of the reef. The merfolk born here are ones who physically look the most human since it is the closest place to the surface and sunlight. The merfolk are a bit smaller than the other types of merpeople, however their intelligence more than makes up for their size, although they may also call themselves the more refined of sea society. Since the mer’s of Reef Crest are more scholarly than warrior they have naturally adapted a ‘flight’ response whereby they can blend into their surroundings when feeling threatened. It is for this reason that they are widely known as the ‘mirror scale’ specie of merfolk.

Talulah’s mother is a well known politician and her father is a scholar. This meant that her upbringing was focused on education and everything related to the history of all sea dwellers, cultures and all kinds of other education type stuff which is relevant to the underwater society. Talulah grew increasingly bored with the things she was being forced to learn and wanted nothing more than to explore what was outside of Reef Crest. However the times where dangerous with rumours of mer’s being stolen and cities being destroyed, her parent’s refused to allow her wishes of leaving the city.

A few years passed before she found a chance to become something which would allow her to get close to doing what she yearned to do. With her small size, tremendous agility and ability to get into small spaces, Talulah decided to become a scout and started her training at the age of 15. She quickly rose in rank when she mastered the ‘mirror scale’ adaptation which allows her to blend in with her surroundings and be essentially camouflaged not just when feeling threatened but at anytime of her choosing. Everything was going fine, but recently higher ranking scout mer’s have gone missing and Talulah has found herself one of the few left and even as on of the Chosen.

Personality: Talulah is a quiet and reserved individual who is interested in peaceful living and following rules and traditions, believing that rules are made to keep the peace. She has a strongly felt internal sense of duty, which lends her a serious air and motivation to follow through on tasks, though sometimes her curiosity gets the better of her.

Talulah also has a hight level of intelligence which allows her to retain information that she has seen, read or heard and is particularly good with direction, finding out where to go based on currents, water temperature and landmarks (or underwater marks lol). Unlike usual mermaids, Talulah doesn’t really like material objects and prefers to keep only the necessary things on her person, including the simple and plain breast covering which was made by weaving together stringy and feathered soft coral.

Equipment:
-Shell comb.
-Two Tonfa styled weapons, one bladed and the other not.
-A seaweed woven pouch full of medical things
-A belt made from found fish netting, woven with shells and coral, used to hold tonfa’s while not in use.

Other:
-Like a true scout, Talulah has medical training, but per her parents wishes, her training is more in-depth than the mere basics that a usual scout would possess.
-As a scout, she isn’t meant to fight or attack, however due to the fact that sometimes one needs to defend themselves, training consisted of learning to use tonfa styled weapons.
-Since she is one of the merpeople with soft skin and scales, Talulah has taught herself to be sensitive to changes in temperature and water type(salt/fresh etc) which help her with finding direction.
-Good at everything but not great at anything. Maybe Talulah will find her greatness during this quest.
Governor Keltorn Atoll
Age: 48

Personality: Keltorn is a very focused and driven individual whose assertive behaviour can seem overly forceful at times. However, it is these qualities as well as his level headedness during demanding times which has provided him with the position of Governor of Reef Crest. A title bestowed upon him by King Neptune himself.

Keltorn takes his job very seriously and his primary focus is the safety of his people, it is for this reason that Reef Crest has many rules that must be strictly followed by all inhabitants.

(Tadah! CS is posted and I am super excited to see everyone else's :D)

EDIT nevermind, it's stated on TBA. Prolly should've read to the end before asking.

Don't worry, I sometimes do that too and then I am like 'Oops didn't see that there.'

This is what I have so far...Just to prove that I am actually trying my damndest to complete the massive cs. Tethra Ra 25 Female Smoldering liquid silver. Tethra wears her hair in a elaborate yet signature style. The majority of her platinum blond tresses reach longer than 24 inches in length. An angled cut fringe hides her other eye but evens out slightly below her chin. Four braids on the opposite side leave strands of loose hair to rest below her collar bone. The ends of her hair flip either inward or outward. A towering 5 foot 8 inches. 130 pounds, give or take. Willing to achieve a goal no matter what. Loves to joke either crudely or sarcastically—either way she likes humor in many forms. Tethra has little to no filter--probably to misdirect the attention of her flaws to another’s. She is bitter for reasons unknown and can be heard mocking Rayne every now and again, and even taking her frustrations out on the summon. Her brash and questionable actions seem to pin point little regard for her own life. The haughty demeanor she portrays gives off a disloyal and untrustworthy aura. TBA Her normal outfit has a beloved unknown crimson and silver symbol sewn into the sleeve of her onyx jacket.

Thank you and sorry for the big CS. It was actually going to be longer until I revised it :)
CS looks great so far the only thing is that I don't want the summons to be too human like. Cobalt and Nex are perfect, but maybe just a less human looking form for Rayne, please.
Also, I have assignments(which I should start now) and exams due next week, so I shall not be online overly often in the next seven(ish) days. And I will finish that post by tomorrow night, hopefully. I thank everyone for being amazing so far, thank you, thank you, thank you X3
Lunetta Rosalyn Obscuras

The soft knock at the door was so quiet that it wasn’t certain if there had been a knock at all. However, the second knock was slightly louder and was perhaps the most daunting sound that Lunetta had ever heard. It was accompanied by male voice which spoke up a few seconds after. “You’re up, Miss Obscuras. Are you ready~?” Her nerves were like butterflies fluttering around in her tummy. Was she ready? Well… no. Not really. A little longer would have been nice, maybe have a little herbal tea. It would have been nice and would have helped calm her down. But nerves were good, especially for situations like these. They kept you on your toes. Kept you ready for the unexpected.

“As ready as I’ll ever be.” She replied with a sigh and stood up from the couch which she actually found to be quite comfortable. The door slowly opened and the man stepped inside the small room. He had blonde hair, a rather feminine facial structure and dark blue eyes. He was a very familiar man. Lunetta was sure that she had seen him somewhere before, she just couldn’t quite remember…

“Ah! You are-“
“Lorik Cateria.”
“Yes, and you were-“
“The host during the Fifth Summoners Battle Tournament. I am honoured that you remember me~” He bowed with a flourish and straightened with a smile. While most people may have found it annoying that Lorik answered their questions before they could even ask them, Luna took it in stride. It was just his personality, besides, she kind of did walk right into it.

“Of course I remember. You were the one who-“
“Threw you into the crowd and allowed them to carry you and the other winner to the podium. Heh, yeah… sorry about that, I got caught up in the moment.” He laughed, scratching the back of his head in an embarrassed manner. “Anyway, I shall tie that mask on for you and then lead you to the battle ring.”

“Don’t worry about it. No harm done. And yes, please, if I tied it myself it would probably come undone. My hands are shaking pretty badly.” Holding up one hand for him to see it shaking, she used the other hand to lift the mask in place while he went behind her and tied the lace into a secure yet neat bow.

The fit was perfect, she could see nothing but darkness, not even a sliver of light prevailed in the black. Sudden hands on her shoulders made her flinch. It was just Lorik, she knew, but it was unexpected contact and she hadn’t been prepared for it. If Lorik noticed he didn’t say anything about it. “We are going to leave now.” Came the whisper in her ear, to which she could only reply by nodding her head. It was time.

- - -

The hands on her shoulders kept her steady as Lorik led Lunetta. The blindfold was disorientating, she had no idea where she was and she didn’t like it. The sooner it’s off the better. Although, she thought that the idea of a blindfold was rather clever before, it wasn’t until she was wearing it that her opinion changed completely. The blindfold was mean!

Sight had been removed from her, but she could still hear. It started out quiet and warped at first like when you cover your ears to dim noise and the further forward she went, the louder it got. Now finally close enough, Lunetta realised just what the sound was. Cheering, clapping, mystic inspired drum beats and the occasional female voice over a loud speaker. Her walking slowed and her heartbeat picked up as did her breathing. There was no going back, no more time to calm herself. She would be battling with an unknown contestant in less than a minute.

There was a whirring sound, doors where opening and the sound barrier was broken. The noise was now almost deafening. Yes, she had done this whole battle tournament two years ago, but she had forgotten just the amount of loudness that a full Rune Arena could have. People. hundreds of people were here watching.

“Now, the first round rules are just the usual, the contestants know them as do most of you, but for those of you who are only joining us this year I shall go over them.” It was the announcer, Lorita who spoke while Lunetta was lead down the last stretch of tunnel. The audience couldn’t yet see her and over the other side in an opposite tunnel, her opponent would be in the same position.

“Summoners must use all three summons in this round one at a time. Their weakest to their strongest. The summon that wins must carry on to face the opponents next summon. The overall winner will be the summoner with at least one summon undefeated. Special moves are prohibited in this first round, users will be disqualified and banned from all legal tournaments henceforth. Summoners are not to be attacked by summons. If there is a tie you guys in the audience will decide who will move onto the second round.”

Lunetta was pulled to a stop at the same time that the announcer stopped talking. Lorik leaned forward and gave her shoulders a reassuring squeeze. “There are three steps here.” Came the gentle warning before she was stepping up them, putting one foot and then the other onto each step with a slight pause between each one. Her heart, now thumping painfully in her chest, filled her ears and phased out the other sounds. [i]Who is my opponent? What are their summons and what elemental type will they be?[/] As soon as the battle started Lunetta will only have seconds to figure out all of these questions, to think of a plan of attack.

TBA... ((Will add more when I return from uni, you guys can start your next posts now if you want. Oh, and you can control both Lorita and Lorik in your posts.))
Thank you for finally posting Masaki, just a few things... Now I know I didn't exactly state it in the rules, but I would rather third person posts instead of first person posts.

Also I don't know if you have understood my first post or things mentioned in the OOC. Contestants are to stay backstage whenever they aren't battling. They cannot see, view or hear other contestants or their battles. This means that your character will not be able to just randomly walk around the arena. He must be backstage, he also needs a blindfold mask. He will not know his opponent until literally a second before the bell sounds for his first battle. The first battle will be your character against an NPC of your own creation.

And remember that your element is water, ice is the sub element only.

Maybe also edit your post and the few grammatical errors. This rp is in the Advanced section and it is expected that posts stick to the Advanced requirements.

EDIT:
Okay, so I have thought it over and been given advice by others who are in the rp. I don't think you or your character are suited for my rp. I have noticed that other rps which began much, much, much later than mine have been taking up your focus and attention. I don't want my rp to die so am going to be removing you from the rp.

As a fellow GM I hope you understand. Dedication is all I asked for.
YAY!! Thank you for finally posting Potato X3
Potato, yes

Masaki, I think so...
Oh yeah, the masks are essentially blindfolds, but I just wanted them to be prettier X3
Some random arena worker will take your character to the battle stage so that they don't run into walls and stuff :)
Yes :)
