Bio

Yo yo yo! Was good? Ace is my name, rping is my game! I prefer fantasy, super natural, modern, sci Fi, romance (especially romance), non anime themes! I usually play hetero female roles and the occassional male role. I have a lot of time on my hands so I am usually free and online. If you have a thread you think I might be interested in then PM me dat shiet!

Overall, I try to be a very open minded, accepting, and non judgy person. I try to see people as people. I could care less about what gender, sexual preference, race, religious background, political views, etc. Are because it's really none of my goddamn business. I care about who you are as a person and how you choose to treat others. I will always try to polite and kind to everyone until given a reason not to be. You want my respect? Then earn it just like everyone else does. Don't force your views and morals on me and I will not force mine on you. It's that simple.

@Ace of flames01How are these abilities powered?

Is it internal, like a battery? How do they "charge" it? Or is it external, converting something outside of them, such has heat, that they draw out of large area? Large battles may require the construction of ovens for the combatants to draw on, while small battles between a few can cause frost and hypothermia in people who are too close.

Secondly, is one of the abilities to stop others from using theirs? A gifted dampener? No matter what's thrown at them, they can just negate it?

So I don't know if there's a "battery" or a way to "charge" it per say. It's a genetic trait and the powers are supernatural in nature (think the mutants from Xmen). But the original Gifted were a result of human experimentation and, more specifically, gene splicing.

There is certain tech used by The Hunters that act as a shock collar to temporarily neutralize Gifted inmates but if you're looking to make a character with a sort of Gifted EMP power that could be interesting. All Gifted abilities are genetic and the abilities inherited from generation to generation are down to a game of genetic lottery. It's kinda like whether a child will be born with blue eyes or brown eyes. But each individuals powers manifest differently, for example a parent might be able freeze things without having to touch them but their child with the same ability might have to be touching the object in order to freeze it. Most children start manifesting their abilities around the ages of 8-10 years old.

I hope that clarifies things a little bit!
@deadpixel101 no worries! I look forward to seeing your character with their actual powers lol
@WhiteAngel25 Ooh I'm loving that idea! I'm super excited to see what you come up with!
@Wayward I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
@Vec Yay! I look forward to seeing your application!
I'm definitely interested in joining. I'll try and start working on a character sheet in the coming days.

I sort of like the idea of being a gifted that's new to the relevant camp so they're forced to make new allies (i.e interact with more characters lol)

What are the parameters for the powers the gifted can have? Do you try to keep it more broad like "fire control" or specific like "can heat objects they're in contact with" (which allows them to start fires)

Yay! Thank you so much for you interest and I like the concept! In terms of parameters for powers I want it to be pretty flexible to encourage creativity so it can be as broad or as specific as you'd like but just don't be OP, your character has to have weaknesses of some kind that balances their powers out. For example, in my character's case I was planning on using pyrokinesis as her power but her weakness is that in really cold temperatures, areas that are low in oxygen, or while her body is submerged in water, she can't start fires. Her powers are also attached to her emotions (and she has BIG emotions) so the less focused she is, the more out of control and explosive the flames are; so if she's being distracted she can't manipulate the flames as easily if at all. Also she can only light fires to things that her skin is touching so she can't just make things spontaneously combust. So be as descriptive as possible so we can get a more fuller understanding of how your character operates. I will also allow duplicate powers to exist but I do strongly encourage diversity for the sake of making the story more interesting. :) Let me know if you have any questions! I'm looking forward to seeing what character you create!

@Wayward I don't have a particular preference as to how characters start out as I don't think it'll affect the start of the story line as everyone is expected to follow the general storyline. So if you're interested in making a Gifted in the Rebellion that is welcomed!
(Based on a roleplay story I participated in many years ago. I'm very much out of practice so please be kind ^^")

It all started with the looming climate crisis facing the world and it growing ever more dire during the first two decades of the 21st century. Humanity was running out of time to make the necessary changes to curb the threat and preserve what natural resources were left; and the world's leaders and most brilliant minds were scrambling for solutions.

It was the year 2067 when the solution was found... but at a cost. Yes, both technology and humanity arose and evolved to meet the crisis, but it was thanks to the "successful" results of human experimentation. In an effort to preserve the human species in a rapidly changing environment, the world's brightest biohackers, biologists, and doctors banded together to expedite the human evolutionary process via gene splicing. This resulted in a new generation of mutated humans known as: "The Gifted". These gifted humans were born with all different sorts of supernatural abilities ranging from human-animal hybrids to being able to control the weather. Realizing these abilities could be harnessed to stabilize and heal the environment, the now unified world government would end up exploiting The Gifted for their abilities but would regard them as selfless heroes that "voluntarily" dedicated their entire lives to the cause of restoring the planet aka Operation Gaia. When in actuality, these first generations of gifted "heroes" were made, raised, and trained in military facilities before being shipped out to the outside world. Though, of course, very little of what Operation Gaia was or what was happening behind the scenes actually reached the general public.

As the decades passed and the environment began to stabilize once again, the topic of The Gifted and talks of human rights began to erupt. For you see, as The Gifted and non-gifted humans began to mingle and reproduce; the population of new Gifted children began to rapidly grow with each new generation. With the exception of the first handful of generations, the Gifted were being born rather than artificially made. These newer generations of Gifted were inheriting the altered genetics from their Gifted parents and ancestors, and when you play the lottery of genetics things get even more complicated. Some children's powers manifested differently than their parent's while others inherited their gifts from ancestors father back. In some more uncommon cases, children of Gifted parents never manifest powers of their own but instead are carriers for the gene.

In the end, though, the world's leaders were met with an unexpected problem: What do we do with these Gifted children now that they have served their purpose in restoring the planet? Do we simply continue to assimilate The Gifted into the non-gifted population and, if we do, how do we keep their dangerous abilities under the control of the world government?

The year is currently 2245 and the solution the world came to all those years ago was Operation Tartarus. The Gifted are now being relentlessly hunted down by the ever so aptly named police force, The Hunters. This police force is mostly are made up of Non-Gifted humans, but there handful of Gifted that were made the exception; only after they were beaten into submission and then molded into the perfect super soldiers, of course. In order to keep the upper hand over the Gifted, the Non-Gifted Hunters were given the worlds most advanced armor and weaponry. The world government, now known as The Republic, established countless military concentration camps around the world where The Gifted would be contained and where the most dangerous classes would be imprisoned. These imprisoned Gifted, the average aging between 10 - 35 years old, are exposed to all sort of inhumane and harsh conditions while surviving confinement. However, all is not lost for The Gifted, as whispers of a Gifted rebel army echo the metal halls of the military camps and with it, hopes and dreams of freedom and equality....

Hey there, everyone!! Thank you for taking an interest in this forum! It's been a long time since I last jumped on RPG so I'm really rusty ^^" but I'm going to give it my best shot and I'm excited to have you all aboard for the ride!(If anyone is willing to Co GM and help me with storyline ideas please let me know as that would be greatly appreciated)
Before we get started on creating our character sheets I want to go over some ground rules for this RP so we're all on the same page and can have the most fun time!
Da Rules:
1.) This is going to be considered an +18 Forum so expect there to be themes that are considered adult in nature. For the sake of being respectful of others, I'm requiring that everyone put a trigger warning at the start of their post if sensitive or triggering themes are going to be discussed in post. You may be asked by a GM to put certain parts of the post in a hidden tab if the post gets too graphic or gory.
2.) Swearing is allowed
3.) Discrimination of any kind is absolutely not allowed under any circumstance. This forum thrives on diversity and is encouraged.
4.) Please be respectful to your fellow players and if any issues arise please DM me so that we can get it sorted ASAP
5.) All Character sheets must be approved by a GM before adding them to the Character Page. You may be asked to make some changes before being approved.
6.) While the plan is to have a main story line be the driving force of the forum, character interactions, personal character growth, and relationship growth is encouraged!
7.) Let's try to keep the sexy stuff to a PG-13 rating, so that means that when the clothes start coming off either have the scene fade to black or taking it to the DMs, please.
8.) You will be expected to have at least basic grammar and posts be at least one paragraph long, so no one liners.
9.) I will provide a CS and relationship sheet. Please use it as that will be preferred.
10.) Picture would be preferred for Character Sheets (No anime or cartoons please, gifs are allowed though).
11.) After your CS is approved and added to the Character Page, please make a post in OOC if any major changes are made to the CS.

Please let me know if you have any questions and I will try to answer them the best I can!

Note This is required to fill out for the characters of the RP because you are likely going to interact with everyone at some point. (even if it's just acquaintances)

We will need at least 5-7 characters before we get started with the story!
