The title says it all, but if interested, I'd like to discuss the roleplay more with you.
So far I'm imagining a setting more akin to Hunter X Hunter in terms of jobs and joining an organization (perhaps a joint school) where fighters train to become stronger and obtain whatever their goals may be, all the while making money through jobs (and possibly saving the world).
I was thinking we could have not only student characters, but perhaps one or two master characters that instruct the students. Each role would have their respective benefits.
I also thought, to make battles between not only players but bosses more fair, we could have a very basic level/roll system that could help determine who wins fights and how characters obtain new abilities and techniques.
The roleplay would still be story focused and the actions of the characters are what ultimately determine the direction. The level/roll system would be just be for the sake of strengthening the characters and helping to decide the outcome of battles. Nothing fancy, as I haven't even hosted a tabletop game before (not that this is one).
I normally flesh out roleplay settings on my own but I really would like to create something with others and get a good, dedicated game going.
Any who, if you're interested please let me know what you would like to see! If you are interested in helping and possibly being a Co-GM, also let me know! ^_^
I've read a little of the roleplay so far and will try to read it all eventually, but can I get a sort of summary of what's happened so far? Also, how will my new character enter the story?
As Haruka was familiarizing himself with his new D-Scanner, Zakai had also reached out and taken the D-Scanner that seemed to call out to him. It was a dark, almost midnight purple. He traced his fingers over its design. It didn't seem too different than the ones all the tamers used to play games. But he saw first hand a Digimon emerge and take form from one of these D-Scanners. Which Digimon did he pick? Or, what Digimon picked him?
He wasn't about to wait any longer than he had to. Without hesitation, Zakai held up his D-Scanner and activated it, lost in his own world and paying no attention to the conversation going on around him. His face remained surprisingly neutral as the bright light illuminated from his device, but once pixels started flowing from out the D-Scanner and literally forming a data file right before him, his eyes lit up with a fiery curiosity. Within a few moments, the pixels had shaped a small form with what would appear to be long ears and a tail.
Another moment later, and the frame began to populate with a light purple fur that covered the Digimon's entire body, save for his grey under belly. The Digimon's tail had three small buckles wrapped around the more distal part of his tail. Thick, black claws could be seen on his feet and hands (or four feet, depending on how you look at it). The Digimon continued facing away from Zakai and the others, before a voice suddenly boomed.
"Well it's about time!"
Zakai raised an eyebrow as his jaw dropped slightly. For some reason, hearing a Digimon speak was different than seeing one. Also, that wouldn't have been the first line he expected to hear from a Digimon.
The Digimon turned around now and lowered a pair of stylish sunglasses, revealing his blood red eyes as he looked over all the Digidestined.
"The name is Gazimon, or you can just call me Gaz. Now who's supposed to be my 'partner'? Who thought they were good enough to summon me?"
Scratching the back of his head, Zakai angled his face as Gazimon looked the others up and down. He was clearly standing right in front of him.
"Umm. Well. I don't know about thinking "I'm worth it", but I guess I'm the one who summoned you?"
Gazimon's eyes were now locked onto Makoto, but as Zakai spoke he shifted his gaze. His eyes then gave Zakai a quick once over.
"So you're the Digidestined?" His voice was almost apathetic. Taking a pause, he pushed his sunglasses back up to cover his eyes with one of his claws.
"Well, we'll just have to see how "destined" you are, or rather, what you're actually destined for." Now Gazimon shrugged carelessly, however his head soon snapped violently in one direction as he realized something.
"Oh great, what's he doing here?" Gazimon sneered in Bakumon's direction. "A vaccine Digimon? I mean, figures, of course he'd be on the roster. But what are we doing here next to each other?"
Well, I'm always hesitant to join roleplays that have already been running awhile, and I don't know anything about the inspiration for this roleplay . . . But it still seems interesting, and as I always struggle to find dedicated players myself, I think I'll bite? ._. (I actually stumbled on the original interest check awhile back before seeing the new one.)
I can't promise that I will post everyday, however I shouldn't go more than a few days without posting. At the very least, I'll usually say something in advance or come back with an explanation on my disappearance. I do find that the more engaging a roleplay is, the more likely I'll force time to post, but life is still there.
The day Earth was invaded, humanity and the rest of its inhabitants were not prepared nor equipped to defend themselves. The Silver Drones took the planet by surprise, utilizing advanced technology that allowed for them to instantly appear within the atmosphere. Traveling through space via another dimension inaccessible to humans, they were completely undetected and were able to begin attacking the state known as Vylone City without any resistance.
Being a civilization of peace with no threat, Vylone City was slow to react and had little defense to protect itself with. Even after gathering what weapons they did possess, they were no match against the advanced drones descending from space. The drones quickly and easily overtook a portion of Vylone City, establishing a landing zone for the reinforcements that would soon be arriving.
Although this outcome may have been inevitable, likely to happen at some point in time, humanity did not understand this. And so it was with great sorrow and regret that humanity realized they had opened the door to the Silver Drones.
While exploring the moon of Jupiter, Europa, humans discovered ancient alien structures. Unknowingly they signaled themselves, drawing the attention of the Silver Drones. This was not understood during the initial stages of the invasion as Europa is very far in distance for those of Earth.
While humanity seems to have brought themselves to the brink of extinction, calling forth alien lifeforms that seek to exterminate life and drain all energy, they have also obtained another probability: a chance to fight with new allies and stop the Silver Drones.
There was something else that happened on Europa that humanity also did not understand at the time. One of the ancient structures activated on the arrival of the Silver Drones that day. Upon activation, the structure locked away several members of the Europa exploration team.
The Europa team members that happened to be in the structure at that time were unconsciously marked, and via non-verbal communication were guided to Earth’s chance for survival. After finding their way to the designated space, these Europa team member’s witnessed another incident of inter dimensional travel.
As the Silver Drones had appeared at Earth and Europa, another set of arrivals greeted the Europa team.
Unlike the Silver Drones, these mechanical beings were not there to harm the humans, but to befriend them.
Now that Earth is under threat by alien invaders, we had little choice but to trust the similar robotic beings that claimed to be there to defend humanity, or, rather their ‘partners’. Not selected based on combat expertise or anything of the sort, a random group of Europa exploration team members were locked away in a structure once the Silver Drones arrived. Following this, robotic beings now known as “Warpers” arrived.
Each one of the warpers, still burning hot from their travel, literally burned the team of Europa explorers. This was not an attack apparently, but instead a ‘bonding’.
Once bonded to one of the warpers, the Europa team members were able to communicate with them.
The warpers, they claim to not know where the Silver Drones are coming from. In fact, they also claim to not know where they themselves come from. For this and other reasons, the warpers are not accepted by all humans. But on the day of the invasion, they fought the Silver Drones on Europa. They saved the lives of humans and vowed to continue fighting alongside their human partners.
And if not fight with the warpers, how will those lost ever be avenged? Because while the warpers were there to fight and protect those on Europa, thousands of innocent lives were lost on Earth in the following days.
It seems like a small chance, an impossible mission . . . a handful of astronauts and their amnesic robot partners . . . but while the warpers don’t remember everything, they do remember something really important: how to upgrade.
Now, 6 months after the Silver Drones arrived, Team Europa is about to reach Earth. The warpers have been upgraded and obtained weapons from their innate blueprint knowledge. It’s not an army, but Team Europa is going to do everything they can to retake Vylone City and save Earth.

Sentient robotic beings team up with a group of researchers, mineralogists, mechanics, etc. to fight against a robot army, the Silver Drones.
Upon partnering with these beings known as warpers, the humans gain the ability to telepathically communicate with their individual partner. They also learn that the humans somehow power the warpers in a similar fashion to how the Silver Drones can steal energy from living things and the planet itself.
Although the warpers lack any weapons at first, they quickly showed their capability when they defended Europa from a squad of Silver Drones. In addition, the warpers have innate blueprints in their memory that when followed by human engineers can improve the warpers performance and abilities. Eventually, the engineers can build their own custom upgrades and equipment when familiar enough with the warpers’ technology.
But the warpers cannot fight an army on their own. Their human partners, though astronauts and not military force, must also take up arms and help fight for humanity and Earth. Together the warpers and humans will need to grow stronger and train so that they are up to the task of fighting the never ending emergence of Silver Drones.
The Silver Drones located the humans when the humans accidentally signaled themselves with alien artifacts. At that point, the Silver Drones warped to the Solar System, along with those that would fight alongside humanity. This is where the name ‘warper’ originates from, the ability of this robotic species to literally warp through space and time via another dimension. The actual term was deemed “sky warp”, as the warpers often appear in the sky.
The Europa Team warpers do not recall the experience of traveling however, and must learn the process of warping again.
As the Europa Team battles the Silver Drones and grows stronger, they also begin to learn more of the Silver Drones and the existence of warpers in general. The more they learn, the more questions arise however. Even so much as to question who is the real enemy, and how far will they have to go?

Rules
- 4 to 8 Players - High Casual to Advanced writing - Players are allowed to showboat against NPCs but no god modding. - This is sci-fi so technological speak will be pure fiction; in other words, tech knowledge isn't really necessary. Have fun with it.
Name: Age: Gender: Job: [On Europa] Appearance: Mark: [Partners of warpers only. Where were they burned/bonded?] Personality: Equipment: - Strengths: - Weaknesses: - Extra:
———————————————————————————————————
Name: Valstar Voice Description: Male; deep and informative in tone. Type: Skirmisher Appearance: Form I
Form II
Form III
Personality: Patient and confident, Valstar embodies a very protective and cautious personality. This does not undermine his curiosity for human existence however, nor his will to readily fight the Silver Drones. Valstar will leap into combat at a moment’s notice, always seeking to protect his partner and any allies. Though loyal to humanity and Earth, his upmost loyalty and devotion is to that of his partner. Equipment: Form I N/A
Form II Assault Rifle- Close to mid range gun that performs decently over long distances as well due to Valstar's robotic eye. Fires in 5 round burst and is equipped with a full automatic setting. Rather than use live ammunition, the assault rifle fires yellow energy projectiles and requires a charge to function.
Charge Blade- Small blade that can be charged by Valstar’s energy, creating a thin energetic layer very high in temperature. Useful for close quarters combat and slicing through very dense materials.
Warrior’s Armor- Equipped with medium armor, Valstar can sustain more damage and hold his own in the front lines; though he still needs to rely on maneuverability to survive intense fire.
Jetpack- Valstar’s armor has a jetpack built into it, though it does not sustain flight. Instead, the jetpack is useful for short bursts of speed and for reaching higher platforms.
Form III Golden Armor- Combined with Valstar’s energetic abilities, his heavy armor can withstand simple enemy fire with ease. Heavy explosions are still damaging but not crippling. With this armor, Valstar shifts from a slight distanced combat approach to full contact. He is able to leap right into enemy lines and battle as a true skirmisher. Valstar gains an additional two feet with this armor, putting him over seven feet tall. He also gains an additional two arms.
Energy Blades- With the right modifications, Valstar can now focus his energy into golden blades that emerge from all four of his arms. This high concentration of energy can slice through any material, even certain energetic weapons/barriers.
Hex Vision- This equipment received the name "Hex" as it grants Valstar six additional eyes, though these work very different than Valstar's normal eyes. The Hex Vision eyes are constantly observing in an almost unconscious way. The Hex Eyes are capable of switching vision modes, such as utilizing night vision and thermal vision. Hex Vision helps Valstar avoid taking damage while close to enemies in the front lines, but also works well as a target tracker. This helps Valstar lock onto enemies and spot openings in their defenses. Abilities: Golden Aura- Valstar does not have an extensive list of weapons or equipment, however he possesses a useful ability where he can channel his energy into what he calls “Golden Aura”. This aura is a multipurpose energy capable of creating an energetic barrier, firing projectile waves, and in his final form shaping permanent energy blades. While present in all forms, the Golden Aura is most powerful while Valstar is in full gear. At Form I and II, power and certain flexibility is lost. Extra: The more gear and energy abilities Valstar uses, the more energy is required from not only his own reserve but his partner's when running low on energy. This is typical of all warper-human relations, however his final form relies primarily on his Gold Aura energy based ability. For this reason, Valstar will not resort to his Form III immediately or continuously in all scenarios. Instead, he may opt to start or complete an entire mission while in Form II. Heavy damage to his armor will also cause Valstar to revert back to Form II in order to conserve energy. While not using Gold Aura for more than his energy blades or at all, Valstar can remain in Form III for an extended period of time; permanently if not in combat and thus able to conserve/charge as necessary.
So as you can see, though is is an interest check I already have everything kind of put together. I posted a bio of my character to show the kind of warper characters I'm looking for, but the abilities and personalities of them are to be very unique. They all will possess certain strengths and capabilities, like sky warping, but the way they go about things should be different and reflective not only of their own personalities but their human partners as well.
The human partners of the warpers will be fighting just as much as the warpers, using more equipment and gear to hold their own in battle. Though stronger than their human partners, the warpers still require an energetic bond with their human partners to perform at maximum potential. They also lack any knowledge of their past or the universe. The only memories they possess are less memory and more blueprints that are engraved into them, only the blueprints seem to have been perfect for the current situation, as if designed unconsciously by the warpers. As the battle continues and the warpers strengthen their bonds with their human partners, they become more powerful and design/obtain new armor and weapons. But ultimately, they rely heavily on their partners for the choices and strategies they use, as they are like new born children despite their immense intellectual ability. Even the human language was learned only by the warpers connecting to their partners' minds. It is over time that the warpers gain more independence in their decision making, and they will always perform better with their partners rather than individually.
Once I get the OOC up I will add more details, like information on the Silver Drones. More will then be added as the story goes.
@Double Definitely interested and dedicated! Actually, this is the only live roleplay I'm in. So I would like to see it continue. My delay was due to a new job/schedule but I've been checking back waiting for everyone else to post.
@tobiax I wasn't sure how/when @Double wanted the Digimon to be introduced and didn't want to post again so soon after my last one, but if we need to push the roleplay a bit I'll post again!
This looks interesting! I haven't done a stat based game before but have been itching to do one and create my own. Perhaps if your character dies, you could transform into some kind of small demon minion? Assist another character to victory with sarcastic backhanded comments? Or completely kiss their toes for your life? I think that would be kind of funny and keep everyone in the story. Anyway, I think I'm in once the thread is finished!
