Did my characters get killed off? It'd be pretty convenient to just bring Jiru back into things.

I've just been pretending you've gone to the farm.
Yeah I believe it would be best for the Roleplay to just imagine he left the area to do other things. Or something. Gives Y'all an out of that scenario.
Damn.

(sorry I completely kept forgetting about doing this and I feel bad :c)
@demonspade64

Just as before, Hinako let out heated moans that would likely make anyone around feel somewhat uncomfortable given the situation.

But it wasn’t like she could help it. Her tails were sensitive, dammit!

“I-I suppose that if you are offering me to touch your tail, I would not wish to deny your request. Though I cannot say I would have something of value to give back in return.”

Hinako was someone who was fiscally conservative to a degree. She had been without a dime to her name for some time after she had lost her shrine. Perhaps there was nothing different from a beggar on the street and a place of worship. Both expect donations for hardly any actions. Of course, one would be more willing to donate to a place of worship than some lady on the street in most cases. Presentation is what allows individuals to better ask for money.

Why did Hinako agree to touch the mermaid’s tail? Perhaps it was a bit of curiosity. Hinako did like to learn about the world around her. Though she could be considered “sheltered’ to the inner workings of the world around her, it wasn’t as if she was a “stupid” person by any stretch of the imagination. It was simply through her occupation and eventual falling from grace that the fox spirit had decided to take it upon herself to educate through traditional schooling.

Though one could state that this school was anything but traditional. Something that held the youthful … well, “youthful” demi-humans, more colloquially known as “Demi”, within the boundaries of its territory. Therefore, it could be considered a strange charter school with a quota for Demi. Or perhaps a school built around the idea of Demi intermingling with other Demi and Humans. But for what purpose did this school hold within its halls.

At the very least, someone naturally inquisitive like Hinako would wish to come up with an explanation for such. Though grateful for her acceptance, one could say that her natural desire to poke the sleeping giant with a stick was one of a many her fox-like personality traits. After all, teasing was not bullying, right?

“Oh, it feels good,” Hinako told the fish-lady.

It was a strange feeling. Though clearly hard, the scales felt almost malleable almost like clay in her feeling. Soft, yet strangely hard, like a pearl with a similar smoothness. The colored scales seemed almost like gems in the beaming reddish light of the twilighting sun falling ever closer to dusk upon the horizon.

“It is a bit of an alien feeling to me, but one that I would have to say feels really nice. S-Sorry if that was a little too much.”

“Oh, I am not of such high status that I would be in command here. I don’t have the drive that would let me take up such a position. After all, I am but a trained medicus A doctor of sorts, I suppose. If you want the subcommander, you would be looking for Sis’. My older sis’ in charge of here when Maria is gone. Chain of command and all. If she was gone I think the Quartermaster goes next.”

It was clear that Klaus was not the sort to take any sort of initiative. The sort of man who didn’t have any higher aspirations. Considering his statement early, and his rather pretty-boy appearance, he was clearly part of the knights for no higher reason than for status. Or at least that is how it would appear to an outside onlooker.

It was clear that his sister was of higher status than him. Perhaps she was the reason for his employment? There was no way that someone like Maria would deal with a slothful soldier. After all, she was a bit of a hard-ass in regards to those not taking action. Then perhaps there was another reason for his status. Despite the medieval institute, Maria still believed in egalitarianism over true nepotism, but would have to take in those of noble family.

“ Between you and me, I don’t mind what ya’ did. Keeps me busy so ‘sis doesn’t think I’m doing nothing around here. That is to say, I would like to do nothing around here. Healing magic don’t take too much outta me, so it is much better than patrolling or doing actual knight work. Bit grateful for that.”

Klaus placed his hands behind his head before saying this, dropping them and resting his chin on the back of his hand before continuing again.

“If you are talking about the mission that Maria is undertaking, than I suppose that you should check at the Tavern. A knight named Tani is taking the signups there. If you are talking about the mission to which Sir Malakaus was assigned, then I believe he is leaving right now for the outskirts. I have to leave for the latter if you’d like to accompany me. Otherwise, I can see you to the inn. In all honesty, I cannot say I care too much. I’m just here on orders. You may act in your own volition and I will let you do so, But hurt my sis’ and I’ll be sure to stick a knife in y’er back.”

Though the previous statements by Klaus had seemed carefree and without true purpose, his intent became clear once he had concluded speaking. Perhaps he cared too much for his sister. Rather than joining the knights to be a knight, he joined to ensure his sister’s safety. Even if he was but a “doctor”, he was still a knight before all else.

Maria chuckled at the proclamation by Shiina, smiling all the time, but trying to stifle the laugh and cover the smile with a tactical covering of her mouth with her fist. For most, this would just be a pointless maneuver. After all, it wasn’t as if she was trying too hard to hide her true emotions given the situation. It wasn’t that she really found the situation too funny. The real reason for for her laughter was because she found the somewhat childish choices of wording and bold proclamations by Shiina rather cute.

“Of course you can have meat and rice. Waiter, I’ll take two bowls of rice and meat if possible. Extra meat for the young lady before me if you could.”

It was clear that Maria didn’t mind spoiling Shiina. As if a mother looking after daughter, or perhaps more aptly an older sister directing her younger sister and spoiling them. Maria never had a younger sister. Though she considered an certain individual akin to an older sister, Maria was always the more meek and shy one growing up. Now that she was a bit more assertive, she did want someone to call her “nee-san” or something like that. But there was no way for someone like Maria to ask something embarrassing of Shiina.

It didn’t take long for the meal to be presented to the two, and it appeared that Shiina looked to Maria with disbelief. It was clear that the girl was hungry. Perhaps it was cruel of Maria to discuss business with Tani before heading out. It was clear that Shiina was extremely hungry. Her eyes and drool spoke more than any word could have.

“You’re cute Shiina, you know that?” Maria questioned to the other rhetorically with a smile. “You may eat when you wish to do so. I am not so cruel to present you with food and then take it away.”

And with that, Maria began to eat the meal before her in a moderate pace.

“M-My tails? Y-You want to touch my tails!?”

Hinako thought for a moment. A moral dilemma was before her. Though she did not like others touching her tails, it wasn’t as if it was something that she lost anything out of in the event someone were to touch them.

To a goddess, a debt is sacred. The debt of her magnanimous actions towards her followers were received well through their worship. It was the basis of her sect. Equal exchange, as it were. Though humans tend not to realize the strength of worship, even but a simple prayer holds the more power than most could realize.

If she was not to hold herself to this fiscal responsibility, then who would trust her? It wasn’t like what the other was asking was impossible. In fact, it wasn’t as if it was really unpleasant of a feeling to have her tails and ears touched. Her mother used to brush her tails every day for her, and she felt that the feeling was one of the most pleasant she had experienced within her elongated lifespan. It was simply something she felt was embarrassing. It was something so meaningless, yet meaningful to Hinako. After all, a Kitsune’s tails were her lifeblood.

“I-I did promise anything. I guess you could touch my tails a little bit if you really wanted to. B-But don’t do so for too long!”

It was still something that Hinako considered … strange. Perhaps her observation regarding humans and their appreciation of things that are fluffy was not unfounded. Corelia might not have been a natural “human”, but there is a reason why it is called “Demi-Human”. If they are merely monsters, they would be referred to as such. They weren’t “humans”, but weren’t at the crossroad to “monstrosity” just yet. Some closer to that end-horizon than others, but naturally therein existed “humanity” within all.

“Please be gentle.”

“What the hell does that even mean!?” Hinako yelled in the general direction of Edward. Of course, he was long gone by then, but perhaps he had heard from the other side of his door.

Hinako was rather flustered by the entire event that had transpired. How dare this man act in such a punitive manner against her. She would have to worry about him in the future. If he were so easily keen to flustering Hinako, she would have to steel herself against his onslaught. He was nothing to her, after all. Just a wandering stranger like herself. Someone who she had just met. How could someone with no previous meetings with Hinako cause her such distress.

It was annoying. It was creepy. Hinako was not the sort to wish to create interpersonal relations to the extent of anything past “passive friends”. She had been hurt by friendship in the past and did not wish to pursue interactions past practical jokes. Perhaps it wasn’t that she had was hurt, but rather hurt others from her actions...

“I take back what I said about this man. I can’t stand him!”

Perhaps Hinako was being too harsh on the man. After all, like before her tails conveyed a message that was clear. She was excited to have been called cute, and her tails seemed to act in a way not unsimilar to a conventional ceiling fan in terms of perpetual motion, though clearly her own motions weren't mechanical; they were bombastic in their approach.

“T-Thank you for helping me out there, Coralia. I was just a bit confused at the time. Sorry for your time. If there is anything that I can do to make it up to you, I’d happily do so.” Hinako said with a light bow to the other.

A good deed should be rewarded with another earnest deed. At the very least she was the sort who liked to pay her debts on time. An upstanding citizen in that regard. Hinako would at the very least want to make sure that. If she was able to act in such a manner to repay Coralia through monetary or minor labor or whatever, Hinako would be willing to do so. Though perhaps her financial situation was not particularly the best. She had, for a time, “haunted” houses in her spirit form when she had no place to stay after losing her godly status. But she hardly did much to harm the people there, aside from some minor pranks. Probably.

“I-I’m fine Coralia. Thank you for helping me. I much appreciate the kindness of strangers,” Hinako told the fish-lady. It was clear by her observations that she had some sort of magical control over water or something along those lines. Or perhaps it was merely bubbles? Either way, she had easily dispatched the brutish man whom had committed a crime most heinous in his heavy-handed manner.

Hinako was someone who had pride in herself. Pride in her previous “occupation”. Pride in her tails. Though she was prideful in herself, she did still consider the perspective of others in her actions, and often acted in the interest of those she cares of or what she believes is right.

In reality though, perhaps Hinako had overreacted to the touching of her ears and tail, but to a Kitsune, those aspects of her were similar to groping one’s chest or something akin to that. Her reaction was likely justified, though she did tell the other that he could touch her tail and ears, it was intended as a joke. Perhaps if she looked at it from that perspective, she was just as much in the wrong as Edward was ignorant about the mechanism behind the Kitsune. Even the gods can get ashamed.

“I-I see you have learned your l-lessen. W-Well if you are truly sorry about what you did then I shall forgive you.” Hinako stammered at the man while covering her mouth with her hand and looking off to the side, still clearly flustered by his previous actions, but clearly trying to recover a bit of her dignified aura she had displayed in their initial meeting. It was not as if she disliked the individual for what he had done. It was merely something that she felt came out of the blue. Of course, she did offer to let him touch her ears and tails, but she did feel that her sarcastic, sassy tone might indicate the constitute for a joke.

But even if her words seemed dignified, the words of Edward did happen to make Hinako a bit happier than she would let on with her speech. He said he could “see the appeal”. Did that mean that he believed her to have some sort of appeal? Of course, as a girl, that did make Hinako happy. Even if it was simple lust over her appearance, it wasn’t like getting compliments was a bad thing. But even if her speech was somewhat coarse, her tails and ears swayed with joy and embarrassment.

Perhaps a normal person would realize that her actions that she considered joking were what led to this situation and that responsibility was also her burden and thus should apologize for messing with him, but considering Hinako’s somewhat prideful nature, that likely was not going to happen.

“Something like that. We had a run-in at the past. I guess you could call us acquaintances of sorts?”

It wasn’t as if Hinako wasn’t telling the truth. Only but a few moments prior did the two individuals meet, separate, and somehow meet again. Perhaps it was a fated encounter. Likely not though. If anything one could blame Hinako’s inability to navigate herself properly.

Hinako intended her offer to be a joke at best. Teasing someone who was before her was simply something she indulged herself in, as her fox-like nature of playing tricks on others did not change. Though she tended to be rather harmless, there were times where she believed herself to have perhaps gone too far.

She was joking, of course. Of course, the man, Edward, would surely understand the sarcastic tones of her voice. That was “Something to be expected”. What Hinako did not expect was for Edward to take her up on her offer.

“”Hinyaa~!” her voice moaned out as the hand touched her ears, feeling the fullness of their fluffiness. His hands rubbed her ears as if some sort of worship. Before she could think straight, the man moved from her ears to her tails, and again she let out a moan.

“W-W-W-W-What are you doing, you idiot!?” Hinako cried at the man, a shade of red blush on her face. Hinako’s voice carried with it her embarrassment, her anger, and her confusion at the action. Although she tried to pretend this was not the case, it was clear by anyone with a nanoangstrom of their toe in the very basics of etiquette this was not what was portrayed.

“T-That’s sexual harassment! Sexual harassment I say!”

It was clear that the former goddess Hinako was being sincere about her statements, as if a child thinking up the first possible thing that comes to her head and stating it to Edward. She might have been a goddess, but no individual … no, no man had ever touched her tail in such a way before. There were tears in her eyes, but she tried to not show them to others since she believed she had to stand strong.

“Idiot” she said softly, before becoming a cacophony of idiots thrown together in a somewhat harsh light, tears welling in her eyes, but she could not let them stream. She still had her dignity [sort of], but it was clear that she was being childish in both her tone and her simplistic, repetitive word choices that were unbecoming of the fox that Edward had met previously, the refinement of her speech and words fading as each careful petting of her ears and tails continued. “Are you some sort of idiot?”

It wasn’t as if it felt bad that someone was giving her ears and tails skinship, but she couldn’t say that she liked that someone had touched her tails and ears in such a manner. The brute!
