You seem to be missing a background. Also, did you take two toughness advances? Your sheet only lists one. Otherwise, it looks pretty good.
A note: You still get that combat shotgun and shells, something I recommend you hold onto. That heavy stubber has a -30 BS if it isn't properly braced, so it isn't exactly a gun that can be used on the move or during assaults.

@Warborn123

It looks pretty good. Your fellowship should be -3, not -2 I believe. Something tells me someone who sustained injuries like his might've been mustered out of service or at least put in a non-combat role, but what the hell, I won't be too strict about that.
over the span of 40,000 years Archaic is a bit relative I suppose. I would hardly call it low damage. They are still supposedly equivalent to .50 caliber. stronger than an autogun or lasgun, just not a bolter.

in the end I'll go with what the Dm ruling is. but this weight system is messed up

While it may be an error on the part of the writers, it can also be seen as simply a part of the setting. Armor is massive, guns are big and very much hunks of metal that spit out heavy slugs. War in M41 is fought by giant supersoldiers, horrific monsters, and mechanical titans. Technology is both tremendously advanced and horribly backwards and normal humans are completely outclassed.

Having a machine gun more like those of WW2 than the lightweight, mobile weapons of the modern day makes sense in a way, considering even the tactics of the Guard is outdated with most regiments using the doctrines of WW1 armies.
@Ollumhammersong

The 40K wiki page also states "The weapon is based on an extremely ancient design, making it too heavy to be carry manually"

For comparison, the German MG 08 machine gun from world war one weighed 26.5kg without a tripod or water.

It's relatively low damage can be explained by the fact that stubbers are outdated weapons based on real-world, modern day technology while autoguns are modern by 30-40M standards, firing high-velocity caseless rounds.

But yes, GW is known for dropping the ball on logic in some cases, such as giving 40K tanks thinner armor than many late war World War Two tanks, or how no one is really sure what the deal is with Hellguns vs. Hot-shot Lasguns.
@Nohbdy
It is honestly easier and makes Infinitly more sense just to ditch them for the purposes of this mission. An enclosed hive is just a bad place to bring a bulky grav chute.

We don't absolutely positively 100% need to have them.

Nope, you don't. But, tossing them in some alleyway to save weight will probably get your tech-priest and quartermaster pretty upset.
Also bear in mind that a hive city isn't just endless tunnels. Vertical movement can be pretty critical.

Anyways, it's not like you're a band of adventurers expected to carry all of your kit at all times. If you're being deployed on a short combat patrol, your platoon leader isn't going to make you bring your toothbrush and spare boxer shorts from base when all you really need is your combat load.
@AdvancedJ3lly Think I touched everything. Mind checking it out?

It looks all good to me! If you'd like, you can trade the Lasgun for a Bullpup Lasgun, as that's Elysian standard issue in the lore. If not, that's cool too, just an option.
@AdvancedJ3llythe comrade is there to carry the ammo.
Plus grav chutes get ditched after landing anyway. They aren't much use in hive city tunnels. That saves 15kg

I also have 45 toughness. So my total carrying capacity is 45 in this instance.

To save on weight I would also abandon my shotgun and ammo.

As I said, it is something to worry about in certain circumstances. If you're planning on going on a long distance foot patrol or hiking a mountain for example. Those things aren't terribly likely in a hive city. As for grav-chutes, you never know, being able to leap off an elevated walkway and safely fall a few levels down-stack could be a life saver.
So, the average guardsman (With a SB + TB = 6) has a carry weight of 36kg. Your flak armor and grav-chute alone is 26kg of weight, so weight can be an important thing to consider in some circumstances. The heavy gunner will be without a doubt encumbered, considering the lightest of the heavy weapon options is 30kg, with another 3kg per 75 rounds of ammo.
I'm still not sure what kind of weapon I want to take

Your options are a missile launcher with anti-personnel missiles, a heavy stubber, and a heavy bolter. Basically, do you want to shoot missiles at bad guys, bullets at bad guys, or missile-bullets?

The missile launcher is the most powerful and longest range, but has 5 rounds and weighs a lot. The Heavy Bolter is heavier, packs a smaller punch per round but can fire many more shots. The Heavy Stubber is the lightest of the three, has the highest rate of fire, but is also the weakest and shortest ranged while still suffering from the bracing problem of the Bolter.

The heavy stubber also benefits from having the most easily acquired ammunition of the three.
We have 3 characters in the works and I think we're waiting on Nohbody and Skwint for characters (assuming Skwint is planning on joining). I think that's a pretty solid group number.
@AdvancedJ3lly

none of the heavy weapons let you start with a backpack supply. they seem to stat it as loaded from an ammo box.

Woops, I'm confusing myself. Hot-shot lasguns/pistols have required backpack supplies, others are optional.

Edit: The Errata flat out says specialization weapons come with 3 loads of ammo.
