Thanks for expressing interest, but unfortunately, the deadline for expressing interest was yesterday, and I will be sticking to that, I'm afraid. Our cast is already enormous, and the cut-off was put in place to give newcomers a chance to join while still ensuring that once the deadline was crossed, that's it on new submissions. We needed a cutoff time; otherwise, this RP would become unmanageable.

If someone leaves the RP or can no longer participate, I may open back up the RP for new applications. But until then, we are closed on new interests for now. Sorry. :(

Headmistress of Harold's Academy, Minerva is the daughter of a Parliament Diviner and is undeniably one of the most powerful Mystics in Lekë. Highly intelligent and a master of her gift (which she uses to appear younger than she really is), her iron fist and imperious leadership style are both worthy of fear and admiration. Though she cares deeply for her students and always seems calm and keenly under control of everything, her temper is notorious within the Mystic community. She's been known to turn a student or two into a toad for bad-mouthing her. After the disappearance of her wife, there was something different about her. Her colleagues and her son, a student at the academy, noticed the shift in her aura as well. She's become quite cold towards everyone, even her son and father. There are very few people that she genuinely likes and admires. She is somewhat untrusting of people, believing they're only interested in her high status and position of influence. Minerva is known to host monthly gatherings at the Guest House for the elites and their families. These gatherings are high profile and invitation only. Everyone seems to want an invitation, though people question why she even bothers hosting them since she doesn't seem to like them very much anyways. "Just a bunch of elitist snobs looking for a come up!", she once said. Despite being from a Noble family herself, she despises what the status stands for. She holds much more value towards hard work and dedication versus frivolous showboating elitism.

Tessa can slow down the course of time for herself and others. This allows her to move and think normally while the outside world is decelerated to various degrees depending on focus and effort. Clothes and other objects that Tessa is in contact with function normally during the effect. This is also true for those to whom Tessa extends the effect.

◈ L i m i t a t i o n s a n d W e a k n e s s e s ◈
Tessa cannot stop the course of time entirely. At times, with enough focus and effort, she could potentially slow it down to the brink of a halt. The more individuals that the effect is extended to, the more effort is required by Tessa. The duration and potency of the effect will also be affected by the number of individuals she included. There is also a limited area of effect, which is not always obvious to Tessa herself -- the less she knows about the environment, the smaller the area of effect will be. There might be physical consequences of too much use of this gift. Tessa is unsure if it affects her natural aging process or the aging process of anyone she extends the effect to.

Note About Homerooms:

With 1000 students attending The Academy, and 50 students per homeroom, there are 20 homerooms in total. There are 17 professors (which will be revealed as they're completed), and each has their own homeroom, in addition to the class or classes that they teach. That means Mentors fill in for the last 3 homerooms. Tessa, of course, a former student of the Academy who aspires to become a full-time permanent teacher, is the Mentor of Class 20, our class. Classes 19 and 18 are also run by their own mentors. There are only 3 mentors at the school currently, with Tessa being the most well-known and popular amongst the entire student body, not just by Class 20.

I tried to nerf him a good bit from that iteration (slower and more involved use, shorter duration, reagents), but imagined this could end up being the case. At the end of the day, I know it's more a matter of too much versatility and variety. No worries. That's why I have Melle. Maybe I'll save his essential idea for something else down the line.

@Force and Fury

Not so much being versatile, but having more of a niche within your Gift's "lane", if that makes sense. So, for example, a character who can draw objects/images to life is versatile cause they can draw up a sword to attack, a shield to defend, a bird to send a letter, and a flare to alert their teammates to their location. They can do these things while still maintaining balance and having a niche within their gift. This current iteration of your gift combines multiple gifts into one, where generally, these gifts would be spread across multiple Mystics.

The exception for Variety is Seraph's Kissed Mystics and even they have limited variety, while also being discriminated against in society if people found out their status.
