Lance leaned up against what remained of one of the temples walls, quietly keeping to himself. A fortunate situation they had found themselves in, even if some were still uncomfortable as he watches Reina's reaction to the storm. Lance looked up as he peers through a small gap in the ceiling, as a rain drop chances its way through it.
Lance shakes his head blinking as he refocuses. He returns to observing the group following on from his small day dream. ..."move closer together we need to share body heat" Wait what?! The thought spiralled in his mind before hearing the conclusion. "its for survival" Well that did make more sense. Reluctantly Lance let out a sigh "Fine." he says before walking closer to the group. "Doesn't look like this'll let up anytime soon." Merely mimicking the others he turned out his pocket extending its contents out in his open palm. Bits and pieces mainly just small ripped scraps of paper and a few coins.
"Alright, well lets see what we can do about that." Akira responded with a laugh to Allura's reply to his question. As the pair wondered through the city, and eventually to the guilds area of town it the hustle and bustle of people toing and froing between the different buildings was hardly surprising to Akira. "Ah... the familiar area of the guilds, this section of town likely never sleeps. Always a coin to be made, and a coin to be spent." Akira smiled feeling almost at home in the crowd of people. His eyes dashed from building from building as he looked at the hanging signs "No, no, no, no... no" Akira thought to himself as he tried to visualise if he could tolerate doing such a job. He was so caught up in his daydreaming that he almost completely missed the incident between Allura and someone else, the best description he could give as Allura's yelp snapped him back in to reality. His eye's quickly scanned over the crowd for the assailant but it proved impossible, he had no idea what to look for. "We... should probably head inside then." Akira responded to Allura's question.
As they headed into the eatery the layout was almost similar to a bar, most of the tables were round with 4 to 5 seats accommodating each one. In comparison to the streets this place seemed almost deserted with more empty tables then full ones. Their entry to the building had drawn the gaze of the customers, if for but a moment, before they all returned to their food and conversations. At the back wall of the room they'd entered stood a long counter, with several doorways, lacking any doors on the wall behind it. Beyond those doorways would appear to be the preparation area for food, though not much could be seen through their openings other than large cabinets and long counters. Finding a seat was an easy enough task, most people had gathered to one side of the room. Deciding that privacy was probably for the best, Akira led the way to the side of the building furthest from the door, at a table placed beside a window. He pulls a chair out, before seating himself at a seat opposite it. "So, what was that all about exactly?" Akira asked, clearly referring the commotion outside. However before he could say anything further another voice called out. "No table service here lad, you come to the counter if your wanting food!" The voice seemed almost distant, it was evident it had come from the prep area. "I'll be up shortly!" Akira shouted back in response, clearly in no rush to head up. "Lets see, local to the hunters guild. This place is probably their biggest client. If nothing else it probably has the best meat in the whole city. So, what do you fancy?" Akira asked with a smile.
"100,000..." Lance mumbled to himself underneath his scarf as he strolled casually towards the castle. How fortunate that such a high paying proposition come into sight after a successful heist and no one needed to know about this extra trinket. Lance softly kissed the ruby that was embedded on his necklace before quickly fumbling it back below his scarf as he passed the city guard, avoiding the suspicious gaze from making eye contact as he bowed his head down. It possibly wasn't the smartest idea to flaunt recently stolen goods, though if need be he could probably talk his way out of that trouble.
As he neared the castle gates the thief gulped softly. This was likely a well guarded property, eyeing the treasures was not going to be a good idea... well not yet anyway. The king must of indeed been desperate for the help as Lance passed the stationed guards at the gate without a single question, his gear evidently displaying that he to was answering the call to arms. That alone maybe have outweighed the suspicions about his general attire.
As he stepped into the castle hall the thief sighed rather dejectedly as his eyes shifted to each person doing a head count. Clearly offering ill-tale of encounters with Orcs didn't dwindle numbers as much as he might hope. One person caught his attention in particular, a certain individual who appeared to keep their identity as much as secret as he did. A smile grew on his face, only evident from the narrowing of his eyes before he looked over the other arrivals once more. "I wonder what kind of tale this is to become... ah a bard, a teller of greater tales than I." The man muttered to himself once more as he reached and lowered the scarf that had shielded the bottom of his face from view. Making it this far made it clear that so much of a disguise was not required.
Nickname: N/A (Though some may come about during the RP)
Age: 25
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Class: Thief
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Skills: Stealth, Streetwise, Bluff, Open Lock, Slight of Hand
Weapons: Short Sword (Main Hand) Dagger (Off-hand) Short Bow (Ranged)
Gear: Leather armour from torso downward a cloth hood & scarf has been stitched into the neckline of the armour, a silver Ruby necklace (presumably stolen), a quiver of arrows (40 if set quantity required), a camping pack, 20 gold pieces.
Personality: A cocky and somewhat over confident individual when it comes to assessing his own skills. Lance Hellbourne's reputation does not quiet live up to the tales of thievery that he tells. Though he would claim that the necklace he wears was taken from a noble it was more than likely stolen from a jewellery shop whilst the owner was bedridden with illness. Though most of what he says is a lie there can be an occasional golden truth found within this individuals words, for there may be no honour amongst thieves but a "Thief's Honour" can sometimes be trusted... maybe.
Back Story: The same way most would come into this life Lance was nothing more than a street rat with little to no money to speak of. He survived primarily from stealing anything he needed, which usually lead to him being caught and thrown in a cell for several days. One might think that a person who lived such a life would get better at it in time. Though a better thief he did become, his inability to keep his mouth shut would oft have him running from the local town guard.
As he aged and became more skilled in the trade of thievery, his ability to bluff and brag about past achievements, many of which had never happened, managed to grab him a few high payout heists. Though some were successful more often then not it would end in failure leaving Lance out of pocket and short on gold. Lack of actual exploits would mean having to frequently change locations as more and more people caught onto his lies.
At the end of his tether Lance was needing to look at possibly more honest work, with the chance of his skills earning him a few gold pieces on the side. This is when he caught wind of the Kings bounty on a group of Orcs terrorising the land. Though it wasn't the line of work that would typically appeal to Lance, the opportunity to rub shoulders, and possibly steal from nobles if successful was not one he could pass up.
The main thing to note is there isn't a hunters guild, other than Game/Animal hunting in this City as it's deemed a somewhat neutral location (more on this later). The guild houses themselves will be more based on trades, these are often rather grand buildings due to the level of investments that would be made into them. Similar to a tavern the particular guilds insignia would often be hanging outside the front of the building on a wooden sign. Outside most guilds will be public notice boards about events/opportunities etc.
With regards to people, the main traffic will be those heading into and out of guild houses these could be anything from guild members or anyone making requests from particular guilds, which again could be anything from a peasant to a noble, dependent on the guild. For example a noble isn't likely to visit an armourer's guild.
I was going to have a pickpocket run into Allura with a message from Lance & Irvine in my post but if you want to do it in yours I wouldn't mind. ^_^ The message will be pretty generic as the pickpocket would be part of a group sent out to try and find us seeing as Lance & Irvine have no clue where they are. The message would mainly entail that they wanted to make sure Allura was safe, along with the promise (or threat, however you want to perceive it :P) that they'll find her. Whether Allura chooses to share the contents of the note with Akira is up to you I can work with it either way.
