History:
arick had a rough childhood, and by rough childhood I mean virtually no childhood at all. He was the son of a pirate hunter, and was raised aboard his father’s company as they hunted down bounty after bounty. His father did not tolerate uselessness, and thus forcefully began training Varick from an early age; if Varick did not succeed with his training, he would be abandoned. At the time, there was nothing that Varick feared more than being left behind on some unknown island.
At the age of six, Varick obtained his first kill. He was able to track down, and later take the head of some rookie pirate in West Blue. It was a mission that his father thought he would fail in, but he proved him wrong. As the years went by, Varick incorporated the different fighting styles he came across, integrating it into his own form. Varick quickly grew to become his father’s most formidable bloodhound.
Unfortunately, his time with his father and his company came to a bloody end when he was thirteen. His father grew greedy with his successes and decided to go after an entire pirate crew. Cornering the pirate crew on a remote island town, a bloody battle took place. Villagers, pirate hunters, and pirates were slaughtered. Varick was the only survivor of the massacre, and had dealt the killing blow on the pirate captain. When the Marines found him, he was covered in the blood of his allies and foes, cackling madly at the sky.
Because of his enormous skill and potential, the Marines were quick to adopt him into their ranks. His combat prowess allowed him to get promoted numerous times, becoming a commissioned officer as a result, but the higher-ups looked down on his ruthless tactics and the unnerving, wild aura that surrounds him. By the time he reached his twenties, Varick was an infamous scourge for all pirates in the All Blues, sparing no one he sees as his enemies.
His reputation had led him to become a forerunner for most suicidal missions within his jurisdiction. Varick’s exploits had allowed him to receive more benefits than those of his rank in terms of equipment and crewmembers so he could better ensure the success of his assignments, personally liking seastone and their effects on Devil Fruit users.
In recent news, Varick was promoted to the rank of Commander. However, he made haste to hunt down more pirates with the intention of being promoted to Captain which would finally allow him to enter the Grand Line.
