As the afternoon drew to an end, the shops gradually became empty, the customers leaving to be with their friends and family on this festive day of the Fourth of July. John stood in the middle of the spacious hairdressing salon, cleaning up the remaining hairs. He had been assisting his sister throughout the entire day, it being incredibly busy with everyone wanting to look pitch-perfect for this special occasion. Although he had about two years of experience by now his sister would only let him do the easy tasks: shaving, buzzcuts, cutting layers, that kind of stuff. Not that he minded much though. At least he didn’t have to spend hours on just one customer.

It was only when late sunbeams entered the room, lighting up the room with an orange hue that John realized how late it was. He quickly looked on his phone to check on the time only to find a bunch of texts. “Shit, never felt the buzzing,” he murmured. He grinned as he read through them and rapidly swiped his fingers across the screen, composing two messages.

To: Séamus
Hey love ;) Yeah I’ve got some on me. Tonight’s going to be a blast!

To: Everyone
Sorry I’m late guys, finishing up at my sister’s right now. Will be there in a moment.

After he had sent them, he let the device slide back into the pocket of his jeans. “Yo, Sophie!” he called out to his sister while taking out his hair tie, the strands falling over his shoulders and along his face. From the storage room came a muffled “Hmm?”. “I kinda forgot to tell you but I’ve got a party tonight, so uh, I gotta go now,” he said all the while stroking his fingers through his hair, fixing up the tangled mess. “I’m late already,” he added as if that would make his excuse to leave early seem any better. His sister peeked around the corner, who, a little bit to John’s surprise, didn’t look the slightest of irritated. “Sure,” she said wholeheartedly. “You worked hard today, so go ahead and have some fun with your friends. Just don’t get too wasted alright?”
John stood still for a moment. “Like… For real?” he questioned which was answered by a short nod. “Heh, thanks!” he smiled in return, before running up the stairs which led to their apartment.

Entering his bedroom, he looked around for some clean clothes to change into. Cutting hair wasn’t exactly a job which required much physical effort but still his shirt was stained with sweat; it was hella hot outside and even the small airco they kept in the salon didn’t help much. He rummaged through his closet before finally deciding on darkgrey sweatshorts and a white shirt with red and blue details. It wasn’t exactly an American flag, but it sufficed. Looking down at his red Vans he decided those would do the job as well. He took a small plastic bag out of the jeans he just slipped off and put them into the pocket of his shorts. He then grabbed the keys to his car along with a bag he had prepared the day before which held some items he might need later that night.

Throwing the thing on the backseat of his convertible he got in and slammed the doors shut. As soon as he started the engine he went full throttle, music blasting from his stereos as he drove off.

Managed to take care of most of my stuff by now so hopefully I can crack out a post very soon!

I'm afraid I won't be able to post the upcoming few days. Some things got in between, but nothing serious. In case you want to move on, in short my post was/is going to be something like this:
John is finishing up at the hairdressing salon, gets Vanessa's text, texts her back that he'll be on his way, gets Séamur's text, texts him back that he'll take some along, quickly swaps clothes and fixes his hair before driving off with his stereos blasting, then arrives at Vanessa's place and rings the bell.

John really digs Bryce and his taste in music. Occasionally the two of them go to concerts together. He also enjoys listening to Bryce's guitar riffs whenever he and his band are playing.

John and Candy are close friends. He loves her hair color and they have helped each other dye their hair before. She is also the one who helped him and Séamus get together. He adores the brightness her whole personality radiates, though he sometimes fears that is not always the truth; that she is sometimes actually not feeling so upbeat but doesn't show it.

Dominic Lambert | ★
John feels some kind of sympathy for Dominic since their pasts show some similarities: both their mother's passed away, which transformed both of their personalities, and they also have developed a pretty close bond with their sisters. However, John doesn’t show this too much, not wanting to let out too much about his own past. Other than that, they can often be found chatting away about technology. John also loves Dominic's habit which has earned him the nickname Lurker; it makes him chuckle every time he sees Dominic leave a building.

John sees himself as a pretty cool guy, fun to hang out with. He realizes though that if you get to know him better he may be a bit troublesome since he is so secretive. He has great doubts whether to change this attitude or not.

John considers Kaitlyn a friend, but the two of them aren’t too close. Instead, he sees her somewhat like a little sister, being protective about her, albeit from a distance; he’s not quite sure how to handle quiet people... Whenever Kaitlyn is drawing he makes sure to walk or sometimes stop by to watch her. She is one of the few people that can get John quiet.

Robyn and John have a shared interest in animals. John visits her every once in a while in the pet boarding lodge she works at. He also likes her balanced character: wild on one side, but motherly on the other. It's slightly similar to his own personality: carefree on one side, serious on the other.

Séamus is John’s bae. The two of them make an amazing couple, both being tall and talkative. John finds Séamus pretty adorable with his soft, ginger traits, which contrasts beautifully with his muscular build. John also admires him for sometimes talking so passionately about things that matter to him. The two of them regularly go round of their houses for drinks and some more stuff.

Vanessa Lopez | ☯
At first John was kind of confused Vanessa’s conflicting personality: on the surface vicious, but motherly and deeply caring when you get close to her. He admires the latter side, but dislikes the former, not liking to see people being put up against each other, be it people he knows or not.

In Depth Appearance:

John has ash-blonde hair reaching down to his shoulders, which he prefers to keep in a bun or messy ponytail most of the time. He maintains a trimmed beard, which makes him look a few years older than he actually is. Underneath often furrowed brows, deep brown eyes can be found, framed by long eyelashes. He is of a somewhat lean, but muscular built, with a rather impressive height of 1.89m (6' 2"). Although his body and facial features are pretty masculine, he likes to add a little femininity to his appearance by means of his longer hair and sometimes by wearing black nailpolish.

Clothing Style:

John's looks depends on how much effort he feels like paying to his appearance today. His outfit ranges from a simple t-shirt combined with baggy jeans, to slightly more sophisticated blouses and regular jeans. He always can be seen wearing skater-brand shoes, such as Vans. At first glance John is a carefree person who loves to experiment with all kinds of stuff: drugs, music genres, hair styles and colors, computer parts and other technological assemblies... He is pretty out-going and likes telling stories, part of which is big talk. He is not afraid to speak his mind about a lot of subjects, that is, unless when things get personal. That's when you get to the secretive and serious side of him. Since people have misused his openness in the past, he has learned himself to not give away too much personal information. Even his close friends don't know too much about him. The only person he intends to fully open up with is to that special one he intends to share his life with. Because of this, he has been called to 'have trust issues' by his exes.

Biography:

John was born as the second and youngest child in a middle-class family. His parents split up when he was still fairly young, his father leaving his mother behind with the kids. (Later he found out his mother had asked for a divorce because his father would often physically abuse her.) The siblings grew very close to each other despite the age gap of four years, and they in turn also grew very close to their mom.

Except for the family situation, John's childhood was overall pretty average. It was in his teens that he became a bit of a problematic child. Getting in touch with what his mom would call "the wrong kind of people", he started to sneak out at night, tried smoking and drinking at an early age, and experiment with narcotics.

Things took a turn for the worse when his mother fell ill with what turned out to be breast cancer. After some more research, the doctors found out it was the aggressive type; his mother had only a few years left to live... The terrible news hit the small family hard, but John's mom decided to make the best of the situation, living each day as if it could be her last. The three of them spend a lot of time together, going on trips when their mother's health allowed it.

After her inevitable death, John grew more serious, greatly affected by the events. She had left the children with a small fortune, but not enough to support them on the long run. His sister Sophie took John into custody and together they moved to Miami, where Sophie opened up a hairdressing salon.

With the salon growing to be one of the better ones in the city, and with John's school grades improving each year, their future is starting to look a little brighter. Things became even better when John met this great group of friends. He loves every individual for who they are, especially his current boyfriend Séamus.
