How about every 3 hours? I just think it fits the character so well, and it also fits the tag Anastasia made me. I wont overuse it, just have a cool idea for him learning that he has the power...

EDIT: or we could go the whole other end of the spectrum and him have no control over it at all. He would eventually starve to death just like midas though...

I don't think it would be too OP. I did think about the alchlemy thing first, but I'm not sure that would have much use. What if the process is fairly slow, and I have to be touching the item. I just like the idea of grabbing somebody by the throat and watching as the gold crawls up there neck and across their face. that's not sadistic is it? I think if it drains my energy, so I could only use once every 1-2 hours? I'm not going to abuse it. you gave draining life energy as an example gift, so it would be similar to that...
