"A demon wizard made me so I could ward off demons from my family- or owners I suppose. They tossed me out though, I almost killed a man." "I thought he was going to hurt them, but it was just a little squabble, I was told. The neighbors didn't appreciate having me around as much as my owners did. Much as I thought they did at least."
"I see. My condolences," Matti responded, keeping his pace on the road. "Fortunately that situation turned out as nothing worse than a few angry words, but I would recommend more caution for the future." his walking seemed to momentarily slow down. "Demonic magic..." He then mumbled, writing a quick note to himself, before picking up the pace. Effective, but incredibly dangerous, he added as an underlined footnote. He would search for other possibilities before risking a knife to his chest from an overaggressive toy in his research for animation enchantment.
"I wanted to keep my cover. Still, it looks like these might not be humans. I assume you're fine with this, Samuel? Don't worry, Matti will be the one showing you the ropes of cartography, I'm no mapmaker."
Matti's eyebrows rose in slight bemusement; did the Living doll honestly expect her current form to be suitable for purposes of stealth? Only children people resembling them could carry dolls without raising suspicion to themselves, so the enchanter deemed Bunny's logic as flawed. Fortunately Samuel did not mind her rude mannerisms, and he nodded with a smile once Bunny mentioned him.
"Oh don't you worry about those kind of things, Miss Bunny." Samuel told Bunny. "Here in Ambran, people mostly keep to themselves and don't bother anyone if it's not business. So long as you're willing to do the same." "Anyway, I'm glad that you have come. Come, let's continue this inside."
"Yes, let us proceed to the business at hand." Matti placed a foot on the steps, and waited for Bunny to reach him before he whispered: "Keep an eye at anyone suspicious who might be eavesdropping; I don't trust this place." Since Bunny would not contribute much to the more intellectual side of their quest, he deemed it correct to place her to the job of lookout; there was still a possibility she would be unnoticed if left atop a bookshelf, for example.
Once the group found a table inside Matti listened to Samuel's explanation, nodding occasionally while writing notes to himself.
"You know, I've been out here for several weeks or... several generations, I guess. Would've made better time if it weren't my horse getting... eh. Trying to get to Boreal Port. See the ocean. From Mormont's Coast to the Stormy Seas in three generations. I'm gonna make something for myself there. I'm gonna find... something."
"But now, I am... a bit lost. So, where do I go from here?"
"Now I understand. You wish to traverse the roads. Let me pick out something first." With that said, Matti brought out a scroll from his enchanted bag of carrying, and laid it out on the table. It was a map that included Ambran and the Boreal Port. "Before you ask," he said with a smile, adjusting his glasses as he glanced at the man, "I am aware of your...complications when it comes to the reading of maps. But that is a simple matter to learn. You see, maps are always laid out with the upper side pointing to the north, and the lower side to the south, with the left side to the west and right side to the east, respectively. We can use this information to know what direction the sun is rising from when we add a compass." He placed the small item on the table as well. "As you can see, the arrow on the compass points to that direction, which means that you are currently facing this direction in the map."
Matti's lecture on the art of map reading and cartography continued for an hour or so, with the scholarly man explaining the best possible route to take. "It takes nothing more than taking to the east for about a four days' time of travel or so, and then a turn to north at the Giant's Pillar. After that, it is only a day's travel to Boreal Port." Matti paused to take a sip from the cup of cider he ordered previously. "If you have any other questions about the route I am ready to answer them."
@Shifter_Master A few of the changes I did to the CS was to number the powers if there are more than one, and to put all benefits and drawbacks to the magical girl sheet. Aside from those, it's accepted, though I'd like to see the corrections done at some point for consistency's sake.
In the world of magical girls, strange rumors and sightings are a common occurrence, both among the oblivious common populace, as well as the hidden world of magic underneath. One often hears how they have seen a fairy dance on the surface of a pond, or heard a voice in the rumbling weather. But nothing could compare to the tragedy that had transpired in a northeastern city in the USA; Penrose. A lone magical girl, guided by a naive but well-meaning Puchuu, intended to unite the local magical girls in the city against a coming threat.
However, the girl was shockingly murdered in plain sight of numerous other magical girls, and the perpetrator was a member of the Beacon; while known for their extremist views on monsters and dark energy, this was the first time they had taken the life of an innocent. What's more, the Beacon member carried a bomb on her person, sparking terror among them, and causing many to flee from the city. Some rumored that the attack was a conspiracy made by a shadowy organization, but nobody would have any proof; there were only scant sightings of a dark magical girl wearing a black dress and an eyepatch disappearing into portals of shadow around the state, accompanied by creatures of the same umbral mold.
As word spread of the atrocities committed by the fanatical organisation and of the troubles in the city to other cities, tensions began to rise between Beacon and local monster girls. Then, the situation peaked to a critical point when an attack on the city's hospital was made by a monster girl known as Helga, who led a group of Beacon killers against the congregation of Beacon responding to the attack. But, a third party arrived to the scene; a pair of magical girl and boy, Lily Lightning, and Alexander Shields, intervened in the conflict.
In a turning point for the battle, Alexander was grievously wounded by Helga. At that moment, Lily, wracked with guilt over seemingly losing him, transformed into a monster-like form; an aura of crackling yellow energy emanated from Lily's slouched body as she was down on all fours, her eyes a blank yellow color. Her skin was covered in fur, and from her forehead jutted out a long, sharp horn in the shape of a thunderbolt. She bellowed with the voice of a thundering horse's neigh, her eyes constantly shifting between the two sides after Helga was struck with a resounding thunderbolt, leaving her as mere ash in her wake. Everything was still, and it seemed like at any moment, the tranquil peace could instantly break from the pressure, like a rubber-band that was stretched to it's breaking point. The question was, who would make the first move? Would it be one of the participants of the conflict, or a new arrival at the scene? Would this conflict, borne of horror, end in a truce, or escalate into a state-wide civil war?
The world is filled with magical wonders; spirits and gods with various goals and objectives. Often, these beings oppose each other, and to succeed they either unleash monsters to the world, or have chosen Mahou who wield magical weapons and powers to fight their battles for them; magical girls, with the occasional magical boy as an exception. These are people who, through some turning point in their life, have been given a new life with magical powers, and a regressed age in their bodies.
The city of Penrose seemed like any other city where magical girls protect and destroy, hidden from society. However, an innocent magical girl who wished to unite the warring sides for a common cause was murdered by a member of the Beacon, an order sworn to destroy any and all monsters and dark magic. Since then, tensions have risen in Penrose between Beacon and monster girls, to the point that outright civil war could be unleashed on the city. What's more, pulling the strings behind this rising conflict is Justine von Visceral, a mysterious magical girl gathering the blood of other magical girls...
Welcome to Lunacy of Love (or LOLMGR for short), reboot of Accidental Magical Girl. In this RP, normal people are chosen by Patrons, which include cute and cuddly Puchuu, capricious Lesser Forces, proud Gods and even terrifying Horrors from beyond, to become magical girls and boys. Will you be a defender of justice, an agent of dubious morals, or something completely different like a monster girl?
Character Creation and Setting
Characters are created for this RP using the wider setting of the Accidental Magical Girl CYOA, found in links below:
Character Creation (Note that the coins given for use in the creator can be used at any point of the creation process.) Patron Creation (The third link is not fully supported, but some parts of it can be bargained for) Dark Magical Girl Aid
The setting of the RP is in the fictional city of Penrose, located somewhere in the Northeast US. Due to the increasing number of monsters in the city, the magical girl population is rising as well. Penrose has a population of 600,000 and is located on the east coast. The actual structure of the city will be kept nebulous to allow for player choice.
Character Sheet
Character creation should be done according to the CYOA. Please note that the amount of additional benefits and drawbacks you can take on the Patron module depend on what type of patron you have. If you roll Allies or Twin Soul and don't want to deal with the additional characters, you can reroll for that power or perk. If anyone has any suggestions to improve the organization, please speak up!

The Rules
1. A maximum of two active characters and Patrons can be created. Any characters and Patrons created afterwards must replace previously created ones. Exceptions to the rule are Allies-perk and Twin Soul-power, which work as described in the CYOA. Submit your characters first to OOC, and once they have been approved they can be posted to the character tab. 2. Allies-perk and Twin Soul-power may be rerolled into another perk or power. 3. You must first ask for permission before you can create side characters and events that have a considerable effect on the RP's story. Background characters with little consequence are exempt from the rule. For example, you can have civilians witness a fight, or have a slumber party at a magical girl's house without asking for permission to include the parents. On the other hand, them turning out to be fighters or a villain suddenly causing a city-wide swarm of monsters has to be approved first. 4. Keep the sexual content PG. Even though the characters may be mentally older on average, they are still in children's bodies. Romance is fine as long as it's kept clean, and without cheating. 5. Violence: The world of LOLMGR is definitely darker than the average magical girl show, with death as an intrinsic part of the setting. Still, please keep the gore and body horror on the tasteful side. 6. Post Rate: Try for at least once every week. At the beginning things might move more rapidly. If you're not going to be able to post for a while, let me know. Try to avoid speed posting too much. 7. Post Standards: Your post should at least be a paragraph or two in length, include your character's thoughts and an action or some dialogue. 8. Collaboration is recommended for dialogue and/or combat between characters when they are expected to run for longer than a couple of posts. Meetingwords is a good place to make collaborations, for example. 9. Have fun! If you don't, let me know by posting in OOC or sending me a PM, and I'll see what I can do to fix the issue. If you have any ideas you want to share in private, feel free to do so as well.
