'Silvia!'
'Cole, calm down, what's wrong? This is what having fun is like. Just a day at the beach, playing in the waves.'
'...'
'Silvia!'
'What?!?'
'Don't swim so fast! I'm losing yo-'
'What?!?'
'The waves are getting too high! I'm not as tall as you, you're getting away!
'Silvia!'
'...'
'Silvia!'
'...'
'Please, don't leave me lonely.'
Clutching the Tome in his hand, with a forlorn tear making its way down his face, that was the moment that Cole truly felt human. It was also the last moment that he ever would. Silvia had nearly gotten him killed earlier. If he had been dazed for a second earlier, the Justicar could of easily disarmed and arrested him. Then he would be sitting inside of a lonely jail cell, rotting away until Death took his toll. If Cole was truly going to go through with this, he needed to say goodbye to his humanity. He needed to say goodbye to Silvia, and everything else that mattered to him in this world. He no longer had room to harbor love or honor, instead he would fill his heart with icy vengeance. He would not feel, but instead act without remorse or mercy. Like an Avatar of Retribution. The Unity had taken everything he loved, now it was time to pay the piper.
Cole looked at the forlorn Capital wall and wondered how he would get pass the armored behemoth. He couldn't very well kick the door in, and any explosions he could set off to blow the door would alert every guard in the country. No, unknowingly repeating the steps of Angelo, Cole climbed the roof of a nearby building and vaulted across the rooftops stealthily, completely unaware that a certain Jester was watching his every move. As he stood on the now battle torn roof of the main building, Cole looked off in the distance. There was only one thing left to do, to fully discard his past life. And it was as easy as pushing a button.

Somewhere off to the distance, a motel didn't just explode. It became a livid and angry fire that not only incinerated itself, but scorched the skies. Cole saw the building become a totem of cleansing fire from the roof of the Capital's main building, several miles away. And from where Cole couldn't see, a certain Justicar was certainly rather scorched himself. If he was smart, after paramedics recovered what was left of his face, he would keep his mouth shut and forget he ever had the misfortune of meeting Cole. But Cole doubted it. Like a vengeful ghost, Cole had a feeling that he would be meeting Alex Sinclair again sometime in the future.
That was in the past now however.

Cole began walking on what was left of the Capital's roof. Little did he know that he was walking towards an even greater threat than the Justicar he had barely escaped. He was walking straight towards the Jester of the court, like a lamb to the slaughter.
