Apologies for the short post!

Keisuke ventured out of his apartment, and onto the streets. He'd thoroughly cleaned his mask and returned it to it's rightful spot upon his face, obscuring his facial feature, and his disfigured jawline. His eyes were still adjusting to the natural light from the dank and dim of his squalid apartment. Keisuke chose to live there because it was out of the way, and out of the sight of any prying eyes, mostly doves and other ghouls that sought to do him harm. He was still a wanted man after the breakout, and had see his mugshot on a few newspapers, but it was just in a general collage of other mugshots of other ghouls who had escaped also.

He still awaited a call from Scarecrow. Keisuke was unsure on what to do. He'd heard rumours of doves investigating his crime scene, so he wasn't too happy to return. He could hunt again until nightfall, and even then, he didn't know if the doves would still be around. Maybe murdering the man wasn't the best idea, but he hadn't eaten properly in who knows how long. Keisuke looked down at his phone, expecting a contact from Scarecrow but, so far, nothing. Maybe he'd be on his own. Perhaps he'd been forgotten and was now a lone wolf. But a ghoul without friends, or a group, or backup, was as good as dead in his eyes.
Are we able to post in the present yet or are we still doing flashbacks?

Keisuke had dozed off in front of the TV after watching the news report. He'd been up for about thirty hours before. Adrenaline kept him awake. The rush of being a wanted convict. The feel of the Commission of Counter Ghoul breathing down his neck. Keisuke felt like they were watching his every move. They'd really bumped up their presence in Ward 23 alone since the breakout, and, no doubt, more were probably going to be on their way after his show the day before, among many others that had taken place not long after the mass exodus of the detention center. Doves weren't his favourite thing. Nor were they any other ghouls. The ones that wanted to stay alive and free, anyway.

His mask was tossed aside, but remained on the sofa. It still had specks of blood from his prey. He'd have to wash that off before he used it again. The clothes he'd worn during the attack lay in a crumpled heap in the corner of the room. Those would have to be washed, too. Blood was not easy to get out of clothing. Keisuke scolded himself for not being more careful in the way he carried out the attack, but realised he was still rusty after spending much of his adult life imprisoned, not able to practice his techniques. He needed to relearn the ways his father had taught him to attract humans to a particular spot and strike.

The curtains in his room were pulled. The only thing that illuminated the room was the TV. It was showing some kind of game show. Nothing that Keisuke was interested in. He wanted to see his name on TV. He was a sucker for attention. He wanted to be notorious. He wanted to be the most famous ghoul of them all. Known as the most vicious, most violent, most bloodthirsty. But, for now, that title went to his boss, the one he only knew as Scarecrow. The leader of the organisation that he had joined after being broken out of the Ghoul Detention Center. He owed his freedom to them, and intended to pay them back in the only way he knew how.
Count me in.
Ward 23

Keisuke sauntered along the path, hidden in plain sight in the hordes of regular humans. He had his hood up, obscuring most of his facial characteristics. Only his mouth was visible. A small droplet of blood was left over in the corner of his mouth from his most recent meal. Since he'd escape the detention center, he'd been on the prowl for human prey non-stop. He'd been treated like common vermin while imprisoned, and the conditions were deplorable. Keisuke had been starved for days on end, and only fed the most basic of meals. That only fed his hatred of the human race and made him even more hungry for their flesh.

He turned into the apartment block he'd been hiding in for the past few weeks, after he was a high-profile escapee. Almost nobody was living there, and it had been condemned a while back but, since the mass breakout, most non-essential civilians were evacuated from Ward 23 due to the high risk of ghoul attacks, like Keisuke had demonstrated on the drunk man a few hours ago. And he enjoyed it. A little too much. He always was a bit screwed up, but he genuinely enjoyed slaughtering his prey, unlike most ghouls who did it to survive. Keisuke liked to turn it into a game, unless he was extremely hungry. Then it became a bloodbath.

The ghoul slammed his door shut once he got into his apartment and made sure he locked it. He didn't want any unwanted visitors like doves or the cannibal ghouls. Keisuke turned on the TV, and hopped into the shower. He washed away most of the blood and bits of flesh on his body, and watched as it drained away. Keisuke then dried himself off and sat down in front of the TV. It was the middle of the day, and the news report was showing the massacre he'd created beneath the overpass. He watched in glee as the corpse was stretchered away, covered up by a white cloth. The men in the background were still cleaning the blood from the street. Then, the reporter came into focus.

"At approximately 8am this morning, a mutilated corpse was found by a dog walker," she started. "The deceased male remains unidentified, and authorities are saying this has all the obvious hallmarks of a ghoul attack. This comes after the recent mass breakout from the Ghoul Detention Center located here in Ward 23. Right now, the exact amount of escapees is unknown, but is expected to be in the hundreds. There are reports of rising ghoul attacks all over Tokyo, and the CCG are reinforcing their presence inside the city."
