The Arrival

One day, maybe you were figuring out how you would afford groceries for your family, maybe you were walking down the street to a job you hate, or maybe you were getting ready to do something extreme anyway; You receive a phone call, a letter, a text. By whatever means, you’re contacted by someone only referring to themselves as Mr. Dust. You have something they need. Whether or not you already have a criminal record, or have the right reputation, you’re told that you are worthy of joining an organization called ‘The Citizens’. You’re given the address of a payphone.
Upon approaching the beat up and surprisingly working phone, it rings. On the other end of the line is the voice of another man. He gives you a second address and you are told not to take a taxi or bring any kind of vehicle.
After arriving at the address given, a warehouse marked ’67- Otto’s Premium Meats’. It’s an old, dilapidated building with the windows boarded up and the front doors chained and padlocked. On the corner of the building is a small cent sign painted in green with an arrow pointing around the side of the building.
Around the corner, in the distance several figures can be seen huddled around burning trash cans scattered across the industrial park. None of them notice you, as you’re just another gray shadow on the landscape. Broken glass crunch beneath your feet as you approach a small side door marked ‘deliveries’. In newer letters next to it but in the same paint: ‘Please knock twice’.
The Character Sheet

(Make me like your character. No Bland Billies, Mary or Gary Sue’s. Former law enforcement/military/government employee sheets will be heavily scrutinized. Also, delete everything in the parentheses. Bonus points for putting it in a hider for me.)

Real Name:

Alias: (Mr. or Ms. Suffix is the crew theme)

Age: (Preferably in the 21-50 range.)

Physical description: (Pictures and played-by’s allowed as long as its not ridiculous. Just be sure to include height and weight.)

Current Disguise: (Keep it simple for now. Balaclava’s, hockey masks, Halloween masks and such. We’ll get better stuff soon! Also take note that later on we will have to dress professional. Suit and tie! And sometimes in tactical gear. For now anything reasonable is fine.)

Attitude/Personality: (If you dislike putting a personality, at least give me their usual demeanor)

Additional Info: (Optional)

Primary Class:

Secondary Class:
(NOTE: New characters will only be able to join between jobs. No entering in the middle of a firefight, sorry.)

The Blackboard

A simple black chalkboard sitting in the middle of the warehouse, surrounded by a semi-circle of metal folding chairs. This is where Dust marks down any potential jobs he scouts out for the Citizens. They vary in pay and risk, as well as classes needed. Dust will find new jobs as time goes on. Estimated Risk to Reward is a scale of 1 to 100, followed by the estimated cash value gained.

Total Jobs Pulled Off: 0
Total Jobs Botched: 0

The Means

This is a list of equipment the crew has acquired as a whole, including vehicles and auxiliary machinery.

Vehicles:
The Black Market

The weaponry and equipment listed here is what Mr. Ink currently supplies. All weapons are untraceable and officially do not exist on the record. The market will diversify, becoming larger and larger as you complete jobs. If you have something special you’re looking for, Ink will do his best to acquire it. All customizations are dealt with as a custom order with a larger price tag agreed upon beforehand. It may take a few days or even weeks for rare weapons and equipment requested to become available. Supplies, and more so weapons, are scarce with the legal issues and gun confiscation rampant. Some weaponry may be a bit outdated, so don’t expect anything flashy until we get more cash. (You will be given $1,200 to begin with)

Handguns

5-shot double action revolver chambered for .357 magnum rounds.

Italian 8+1 capacity, .25 ACP compact pocket pistol.

Shotguns

Pump action 12-gauge shotgun with a fixed stock and a 4-round underbarrel tube magazine.

Sprayed in or towards the eyes, this irritant causes mucous membranes to swell, causing the target’s eyes, nose, and mouth to become saturated with tears, mucous, and saliva respectively. Can sometimes cause respiratory damage if over-used. Unlike pepper spray, Riot Mace does not cause a severe burning sensation. Comprised of phenacyl chloride. Can create a cloud of aerated irritant dangerous to self and allies.

A medium-length, wide blade with roots in agriculture. Popular among gangs and cartels. Ideal for chopping and slashing. 16 inch blade with rubberized grip.

Rugged combat knife. Double edged 7-inch carbon steel blade with a leather grip.

Composed of 4140 high-carbon steel, this telescopic and collapsible baton is lightweight, compact, and easily concealable while still being a formidable weapon.

Compact brass knuckles. Easy to conceal and gives your punches some oomph.

Short, sweet, and to the point.

Armor

Lightweight body armor that protects the wearer from blunt force as well as small arms fire. Only protects the front and back of the torso. Does not hinder movement.

Moderately protective vest that still maintains a somewhat light weight. Contains Kevlar inserts that protect from medium-grade projectiles as well as blunt and sharp force. The Land of the Free

Imagine it, if you will: A vast city skyline of former glory, concrete and glass skyscrapers looming over old brick high rise buildings that now crumble. Windows where once-happy faces peered out from the old buildings are now cracked, shattered, or missing altogether. The buildings grovel at the feet of the pristine skyscrapers like peasants, half of them toppled completely to the ground with even their cornerstones strewn about the streets.
Massive patriotic flags fly high above in the sun like bandages poorly covering a festering wound. Several times a day police helicopters hover and leave behind squads of stiff-backed, armor-clad, jack-booted “peace officers”.
In the slums hidden from media acknowledgement and out of public mind, the bottom class citizens whose shoulders the mega corporations prop their feet upon huddle around flaming trash cans to stay warm. The majority of them scrape by merely by robbing one another. The poor steal from the poor, and the fat cats laugh.

Until someone puts a gun barrel in their mouth.

Alec Whitaker sat uncomfortably in the rickety folding chair provided for hospital visitors. Eyes red and hair disheveled from running his fingers through it desperately, he felt his stomach curdle as he watched his big brother racked in pain. The doctors had told him over and over again how if they had simply caught it earlier, they could have done something to save him. When told that he was refused medical treatment for lack of insurance and lack of cash, the doctor merely changed the subject, giving Trent six months “in the best case”. Alec knew that was more like three without being able to stay in the hospital and receive care.

Trent had practically raised Alec after their mother had left when they were seventeen and twelve, respectively. Trent was always so strong, in every sense of the word. He was built like the father Alec barely remembered, muscular and broad shouldered. And yet now here he was, getting closer to thirty, with his twenty-two year old brother capable of picking him up; Having to, when he couldn’t stop shitting himself.

It was enough to drive a man to do something. Something only an unstable, irresponsible psychopath would be capable of. But Alec was none of those things. He was only broken, in premature mourning, and very, very angry.

That would have to do.

The Plot
It’s 2020, in the United Provinces of Aleghany, a fictional corrupt country in a world with several similarities to our own. The country has become a police state with a massive gap between the upper and lower classes.

Meanwhile, the bigwigs of the mega corporations write their own paychecks, growing exponentially more wealthy as time goes by. During a time when wars revolve around resources rather than ideologies, billions upon billions of dollars are being spent on the military alone. So how, a common man may ask, are those of us without multi-million dollar bloodlines supposed to obtain anything more than dirt, dust, and an early grave?

The answer is simple: take it.

Alec Whitaker, a thug on a bad day and a working man on a good one, first had an idea. The idea has now turned into a full on plan: to bring together those who have been stepped on and ground into the gutters and alleyways by the powerful, the wealthy, and the corrupt. It would be these individuals, entirely fed up and on edge, that would bring about change. If they could prevent even one more dollar from touching the palms of the evil men and women pulling the strings above them, it would be a victory. But Alec would not stop there. Given the chance, he would sever each and every fiber tugging at the limbs of the lower class.
Who was it that said “steal from the rich and give to the poor”?

The Details (The devil is in them)
Before each job, the Citizens will meet in their base of operations (currently warehouse 67 in the industrial park), where Dust will let the group know of any potential jobs. Once a mark has been decide by the group as a whole, the details of the job including what to expect and what type of equipment are necessary will be explained. With all bases covered, the group will have time to prepare in whatever way is necessary. Whether that means pulling a smaller job to acquire the proper equipment, or simply meditate before going into the fray.
During a job, certain classes may not be required which is why you must choose your secondary class wisely. However, having a class does not mean you absolutely have to stick to whatever your job is. In certain situations it may be necessary for you to do the work of another class, albeit not as efficiently.
As the story progresses and the Citizens gain more infamy and money, new items, weapons, and opportunities may arise.

Once a job is complete, the escape is successful, and the loot is secure, the Citizens will disperse back into the population unnoticed. The next time you meet at the base of operations you will be given your cut of the take to spend as you like. At this time you may also purchase equipment from the black market networks, including but not limited to: weaponry, equipment, disguises, and vehicles.

Rinse. Repeat.

The Classes
(Pick two: A primary class you will excel in, and a secondary you will be only be adequately proficient in. Classes can be changed later but training will take a small amount of time.)

Enforcer- The bread and butter of most jobs, the enforcer’s role is to storm in and suppress hostile units as well as subdue any civilians present. Often clad in medium to heavy armor and wielding automatic weapons or shotguns, the enforcers are essential to taking and defending territory and key points on-site. They must not be timid or quiet, relying on a fierce persona and appearance to intimidate both civilians and LEOs into submission.

Wingman- Usually stationed at the backs of the enforcers, a wingman is equally armored to match them. Though usually armed with fully automatic weapons with high ammunition capacities, it is not unusual for them to also come prepared with explosive weapons. Their primary job is to suppress LEO’s in places the enforcer has already cleared essentially holding down the fort. Otherwise it is normal for them to be stationed at entrances and exits to prevent access to the job site.

Shotcaller- Requiring both a cool head and a steady tongue, shotcallers are the voice of the Citizens. If the enforcers are the yin, the shotcallers are the yang, calmly speaking with key persons (building owners/people with security access) without threatening them too severely despite being attacked or refused their request. They are also the negotiators when dealing with LEO’s in tight situations, able to keep up with or full on outsmart their police counterparts. Generally, the shotcaller is also in charge of keeping the other group members updated on police activity and other incoming threats, keeping a portable police frequency scanner with him at all times. They need to be light on their feet and moving around the job site frequently, so light armor and weapons such as handguns and submachine guns are ideal. *

*I reserve the right to deny you this class based on your leadership and writing abilities

Mule- When the air is thick with bullets and the doorways are being stormed by S.W.A.T units, the other members of the team simply cannot maneuver properly while carrying heavy equipment and ammunition. The mules save the day by doing the heavy lifting. They are in charge of carrying and placing extra ammunition, tools, and anything else that would disrupt another team member’s role. While the job seems dull on the surface, immediate access to a near-unlimited supply of ammunition makes up for it. Mules may also be required the majority of the loot or carry downed team members to safety. All of this means that mules must have a great amount of physical strength. Any level of armor and weaponry will do well for this class.
Tech- Because sometimes, when all doors and windows are shut, the quickest way from one point to another is through a firewall. Techs are not usually combat savvy but are more than capable in taking part in the action of they so choose. Primarily they specialize in disarming alarms, hacking or compromising security camera systems, and setting up the more delicate equipment. Is it a glorious and glamorous job? No. But they tend to be the key to many heists.
Medic- Let’s face it: eventually you will be shot, heavily tased, or hurt in some other manner. The team medic is in charge of making sure you can get back on your feet and keep shooting/hacking/destroying/yelling at people. Medics carry medical supplies on them and are stocked up on adrenaline pressure syringes to make the .44 in your shoulder feel like a snake bite. Seeing as medics are in the thick of it, moderate to heavy armor is a must. After all, who’s going to heal you when you take a flash bang to the face?

Cat- Utilized in situations that require pure stealth, “cats” or “cat burglars” are deployed to work behind enemy lines. Usually spry and nimble, cats are capable of scaling buildings, dodging security, opening locked doors, or silently suppressing hostiles. Essentially they are the ninjas of the group. Some jobs, while boring for the rest of the crew, may be possible to complete using only a single cat. Minimal armor, silenced weapons, knives, and non-lethal weaponry are sure fire for this class.

Sharpshooter- Specializing in long-range hostile suppression, sharpshooters can turn the tide of a police siege by taking out enemy snipers and creating a “dead zone” in key locations by killing anyone who tries to enter. On some jobs, a sharpshooter may be relied on to merely keep watch, activate equipment from afar, or cover important meetings. Obviously this class will require a rifle to operate properly.

Wheel- Some argue that the escape is the most important part of the any job. Wheels must be overly qualified in the art of shaking off high-speed pursuers, often weaving in and out of traffic and bolting down narrow alleys and side streets. Sometimes wheels will be only used at the very end of a mission, other times the job may revolved entirely around their driving skills. A one-handed firearm is a must whilst driving.

Frog- LOCKED*

Fly- LOCKED*

Juggernaut- LOCKED*

Psychopath- LOCKED*

*Will be unlocked at a later point in the story
OOC will be up tomorrow guys. Sorry, I got sidetracked.
Update: Just have my own sheets to complete, and then we'll be good to go!
I'm limiting you all to one each at first. There will be a point in the story where we will suddenly need a much larger crew. Thus, everyone will get to make their second character if they so choose. So to answer your question: yes, eventually.
Creeping up on the completion of the OOC, folks!
