Bio

'Ello folks! The name is Azena (Ah-zae-nuh). I'm a 26 year old man in EST (GMT -5, I believe). I've been role playing for over 10 years. I took a break from the Guild when I found a tabletop group to join with. I used the chance to improve my role playing and take on new concepts. Happy to report, I learned absolutely nothing! Nah, just kidding. I opened up and took on characters of different genders, orientations, and personalities. I've missed the friends I made here and am happy to be back and make some new ones as I try to track down my old ones.

I like the cooperation and connection on 1x1 RPs. Group just tend to move too fast for my frequency on this site. I at least try anything besides a modern slice of life game. I don't need to role play real life, I get more than enough of it off the computer. Tolkien Fantasy and Space Sci-Fi are sure hits with me, but I've also enjoyed apocalyptic, westerns, and modern magic.

Better work on it. It's one of my unspoken rules unless I randomly mention it in the OOC :) I'm okay with a few posts of back and forth, but if you take a page or more up then you'll likely hear from me. Not everyone can get on at the same time or often, so it's just courtesy. The only exception is if the group is intentionally split and you are acting out your scene with a similarly active partner. However, be prepared to have to sit around when your scene ends and the others have to catch up.

On the note of what to post next, Leo is right. It is a great opportunity for some inner monologue. Show us more about how your character thinks. They were just inducted into a group of hunters and some of you may not even have a clear concept of what it is they hunt. There is a mixture of excitement and confusion going on right now. So gather your things, do some thinking, and meet me back in the tavern when you're ready :)
lol just keep it under control, you two :p
Snow stood proudly over her new recruits. For all the cold-heartedness she radiated, Snow really did care about the guild members. She knew that each kid she dragged in here kicking and screaming was a new family member to watch her back. This was the safest place in the world and she wouldn't trade it for anything.

"Well, that settles it then. You are all officially hunters, and with that comes your official guild names. I think yours has all ready been assigned and is suiting, Red." Snow gave a curt nod to the cloaked girl. Her brief stint of euphoria actually brought a smile to the ice queen's face. Red had been weighed so heavily since she arrived, it was reassuring to see there was still a girl there. Some of the members that stood behind Red patted the girl on the back. "Eulalie, I had a chance to look at the book of yours and I think Briar Rose, or Rose for short is appropriate. Devin, you have natural talent with the traditional tools of the hunter ancestors. I think Huntsman is rather suiting."

"Finally..." Snow paused with a heavy sigh before continuing. Some of the other members took the chance to pat Eulalie and Devin on the back. These were new recruits, but they'd be welcomed in with open arms. "Jack, you were difficult. You have a uncanny arrogance that is at constant odds with a wandering and curious spirit. Ellie came up with Sawyer, so we're going with that. Congratulations to you all."

Snow let the excitement seep in for a moment as the other hunters swarmed the table to congratulate the newest members. Drinks were offered, hands were shaken, and a heart-warming song even broke out. It was some old tune that Woody knew about a famous hunt against a legendary vampire. Ellie fanned out her arms and shushed the group. It took a few minutes, but eventually all fell silent and returned to their spots to continue their own affairs.

"Unfortunately, we can't really celebrate. Merlin gave me a contract for you and requested we go immediately. So, head to your rooms and get ready, we leave as soon as possible." Ellie folded the piece of paper and put it in her pocket. Paul was crossing the room with the majority of Eulalie's luggage balanced carefully in his arms. "Eul--sorry, Rose. You can follow Paul and get something clean on."
Ya, I've never been a fan of "so-so said" or color-coding and crap like that. I prefer to gather it from context in the description. I can try to make it more clear from now on and if you're ever not sure then you can ask.

The biggest clue is how they speak. Snow is rather harsh and aggressive, while Ellie is caring and calls people dear a lot.
Ellie did all she could to ignore the drunk. Jack wasn't really that bad of a person, but what little filter he had disappeared when he drank. Nobody really blamed him, it was the way alcohol worked. He just let it get the best of him too often. Snow on the other hand let her smile grow wider and wider as he rambled on. She knew this wasn't how he planned on becoming a hunter and it was making her night. Jack was the kind of arrogant kid to make a gal want to stay single the rest of her life. She was more than happy to deliver the bad news.

"Jack, reel it in. You're embarrassing yourself. We told you from the beginning that you may not get to work with Harry and Becky. This is your team. Your family, and we protect our brothers and sisters here." Ellie looked down and pondered Eulalie's question. She didn't know the book had been lost. Frankly, she didn't know what made the book special, but Merlin was the one that had it.

"Merlin has his ways, my dear. I'm sure he came across it and was saving it just for you."
@Wonder, yep you're free to describe the book and all. I just wanted to have it come from Merlin. Also, thanks for breaking down Leo's post. It was a little difficult to follow, but I didn't have time to go through it myself so you saved me that trouble.

@Asura, glad to see your interest. Storybook characters are the focus and will be the most used for NPCs. However, I am being lenient with the players. For example, Jack "Sawyer" is based off the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Tom Sawyer. Not a fairy tale, but still an iconic story character which qualifies. If you're not sure, feel free to run ideas by me in PM. I worked with Leo to come up with Sawyer. And Val is right, a close-range fighter will be valued.
Yep, but not alone. Devin is a regular hunter and their are others. Just many members have unique talents or magic that plays to their lore.
The tunnels seemed to go on forever. Isabel could swear the cat was taking them around in circles. She was starting to get worried. She normally wouldn't trust a random stranger that seemed to know their situation, but it was the rock or a hard place. Taking on a thief was nothing compared to a horde of pissed off mages. Finally, the Khajiit stopped and looked around. Isabel felt her magika channeling into her hand. She let it go when the cat started pushing on the walls.

"It's here somewhere...I...Ah!" The Khajiit stepped back as the wall slid away and revealed a tavern of sorts. The secret hideout of the imperial thieves and it wasn't that impressive. Isabel got the impression that it was formerly a crypt of some kind. The lingering dead felt heavy in the air. They walked across the torch-lit path and over to the bar. A few members of the guild were lingering around with their drinks, but none of them paid any attention when the strangers entered.

"So, you finally made it. Come and sit...or maybe lay down. You all don't look to hot." The barkeep, a large bald man, boomed across the tables.
Ya I developed a new policy for this game (I'm also running two table-top groups with it) last night that everyone, not just a few will have a magical item as a gift from Merlin. Since there isn't anything unusual about Jack, I decided a unique scope would be useful.
Okay new post is up. Few notes: You may notice I split up the posts. If you haven't figured out why, I'm centering the section around certain party members. If I don't blatantly state it, context clues should let you know who I'm talking about. Refer to your last post if you're not sure. That said, you should still read the others so you know what is going on and make sure I didn't slide a reference in about you. The last part will often bring some if not the whole of the group together.

About your items...Jolly, we've discussed Red's cloak and that all still applies. Wonder, Eulalie's book has about 50 pages, but most of it is blank except for the three spells you have in your CS. Val, the quiver has silver-tipped arrows. Pretty basic, but invaluable on most hunts. Leo, the scope can be mounted on Jack's rifle. It is enchanted and the dial on it can be turned to switch from a thermal vision, to a Libra vision that can show some information about the target, one that shows vital areas like the heart, and finally a standard zoom function. I'd prefer you let me know when you want to use it so i can reveal the appropriate information, especially when using the Libra and vital functions.
