Bio

'Ello folks! The name is Azena (Ah-zae-nuh). I'm a 26 year old man in EST (GMT -5, I believe). I've been role playing for over 10 years. I took a break from the Guild when I found a tabletop group to join with. I used the chance to improve my role playing and take on new concepts. Happy to report, I learned absolutely nothing! Nah, just kidding. I opened up and took on characters of different genders, orientations, and personalities. I've missed the friends I made here and am happy to be back and make some new ones as I try to track down my old ones.

I like the cooperation and connection on 1x1 RPs. Group just tend to move too fast for my frequency on this site. I at least try anything besides a modern slice of life game. I don't need to role play real life, I get more than enough of it off the computer. Tolkien Fantasy and Space Sci-Fi are sure hits with me, but I've also enjoyed apocalyptic, westerns, and modern magic.

I added more to my last post about the train ride. I figured out a rather clever way to deal with the literacy problem.
Nicholas didn't waste time with orders. Once he saw that Ryder was safely positioned in the wagon, he started the horse off again. Lena was right. Ryder needed help and he needed it now. He had no idea how far the Forest Kingdom was, but that only meant he had to assume it was far and push the cart as fast as it would go. The cart bounced against every stone and crack on the road. Nicholas found himself praying. To who, he didn't really know nor care. If someone was listening, then he was bargaining for his friend's life.

Felix curiously crouched over Ryder. The man's face had gone pale and he didn't seem to be breathing. The woman was sure that he was still alive. Felix reached down and tried to open Ryder's eyes. He withdrew slightly when one of his claws scratched under Ryder's eye, but he went back in more carefully. Felix pulled apart Ryder's eyelids and flinched back at the sight. The man's eyes sat pitch black with red specs floating around. He had seen it before. It was the curse from the forests. Now only time would tell if the man would die or become feral like so many of the others had.

Felix reached into the pouch on his belt and pulled out a small, blue herb. The flower on it sat bright orange and seemed to give off a faint glow. He handed it over to Lena, careful now to watch his hands around the dying man.

"Here, this will help. It is Sun Root from the ruin in the forest. The elders are using it to help slow down the curse."
Still hanging around, my dear?
Aw thanks Wonder. Let me know if you guys need meto post more or clarify things if you feel you cant post right now. I didn't have a lot of time and kept losing the post. That was like my fourth time typing it up so it wasnt as good as it was supposed to be.
Been busy this week. I'll get a post in soon.
Sorry it took so long, I was working on a post Monday but fell asleep and my brother shut down the laptop. I tried to post twice today and the damn internet kept screwing up so it's not as good as I wanted it to be. Anyways, it's another reflection post. More thinking, or asking Ellie more about hunting and specifically the contract.
As her new students left to gather her things, Ellie did so as well. She made for her room and packed her own gear for the trip. In general, she wouldn't get directly involved and simply observe, but she had to be ready just in case something went wrong. Before she left, Ellie opened up her top drawer and pulled out four books. Each had the crest of the Kingdom Guild on the cover. After that, she gathered four broaches like the one over her left breast. It was a cold iron mold of the Guild crest, a rose with three thorn branches extending from it. With her supplies gathered, Ellie cleared the room and returned to the tavern.

"This is your Guild Guide and Guild Seal." Ellie would say as the young hunters rejoined her and she handed each a book and broach. "The Guide will hold all the important information a hunter will need to survive in the field, eventually. The Seals are a vital form of communication for the Guild. Pressing the rose center will connect you with Belle for research or Rumple if you need an emergency supply delivery."

It was always difficult to explain the two devices. Most new recruits had trouble understanding how magic worked so they always were skeptical of the potential each item could have. Ellie hated rushing her students on their first day, but Merlin was insistent that they investigate the contract immediately. "A carriage has been arranged and will take us to the station. From there we ride to New Hampshire."

==========TIME SKIP (Carriage Ride: ~1 hour)===========

The carriage ride was short. Merlin had used Guild Funds to have a rail line built to Golden City for easy access. They even had a private car. It was the safest way for them to travel since many member of the Guild had unique appearances. It was better not to confine some of them in crowded boxes with strangers. The car was bought after Beast got anxious and shifted in a packed car. Luckily, Ellie convinced the passengers that it was just an illusion. Ellie looked around at her kids. They were an odd group. Normally, she trained students that fit well together, but there was such an odd chemistry among this team.

It was strange that Merlin would chose them to work together, She always figured Sawyer would have stayed with his friends that joined. Regardless, there was nothing to be done about it now. They'd come to enjoy each other's company and work well together. Ellie just smiled and rested her head against the window. She thought she caught a glimpse of a massive White Wolf in the trees. It was so quick, she couldn't be sure. It really couldn't have been. That wolf was killed about a year ago.

She shook the thought out of her mind. She looked back at the eager recruits. She caught some of them staring at their Guides and had a sudden realization. She couldn't believe she had forgotten earlier, especially with how long she has known Red. She pulled out her own Guide and Seal. Ellie flipped to the first page and placed the Seal over Merlin's introduction. She pressed the center of the rose and it started to glow a bright blue. It pulsed with each word as Merlin's voice began to read the passage that was printed on the pages.

"I forgot to tell you. I know not everyone is the best at reading yet, but the books are enchanted. You can use your guild seal to hear a sort of recording of the words." She pushed the center of her seal again and Merlin fell silent. The glow disappeared and she pinned it back to her shirt. She closed up her book and tucked it back into her bag. She had to be careful about leaving it around. It had a lot more information than their Guides did and Merlin had a thing about hunters learning on their own. "You'll learn more about what both can do as we get further into your training."
Great :)
I know Jolly is having trouble thinking of a post right now. How are you doing Val?
Great Gatsby! That is ambitious.
