Yeah, there’s a lot of unknowns. In the end, scientists will do science, so if they don’t get what they want they’ll probably just keep chugging along for all eternity.

*Shrugs* It’ll probably never happen. They have a pipe dream to get control of the System so they can do that exact thing, and then to pass it off to Tier Five or something, because Tier Five is the one who sanctioned their work in the first place, waaaay back when.

You’re probably right. Sometimes, though, you can’t help it. Go into a city with nice clothes, accept an invitation from one noble family, and another might turn on you. Pick the wrong side of a tribe in cold civil war and you might get bad looks during your whole stay.
