Did this die? I don't really want this to die...
Changed up IC for Ribald, my bad, I'll add in the later bits... Well later. Sorry, had a twitch trigger finger.
Ribald

Are you fucking kidding me. A third one. A THIRD goddamn wolf in this neck of the woods, honestly he wasn't even mad at this point, the gods -both evil and benign- were clearly mocking him. Here he was, a scientist deprived of fresh subjects, literally handed a smorgasbord. And fuck, judging by its size and stature this was a male; Ribald didn't have nearly the firepower nor traps set up to even scratch this guy. If he was lucky Ribald's death would be mostly painless, a wolf would be writhing in a poison induced agony, and Cat, poor, sweet innocent Cat can make a break for it.

Pinkerton agents? Now, if Mr. Polly didn't know any better it would almost seem like a nationally recognized investigative corporation had been contracted to keep HIM safe. Let me say that again, somebody on God's green earth wanted him to be the opposite of dead without Manny knowingly doing anything on his part to ensure it. There must be some great genius- or fool- that believed in Mr. Polly's new enterprise, and who was Manny to disappoint such an expectant partner.

He grinned, while this seemed far too good to be true, the fact that neither his father nor his old (known) associates were involved with this man consoled some of his apprehensions. Additionally the man seemed the honorable sort, at least not the type to stab Manny in his sleep, which means he would be a valuable asset (which may be deserted if the need arise.)

"Well, Mr. Langley, if that's what you came here for be my guest- or guard, rather- and it's fortunate of you to be here for I believe I have something in mind to begin my little venture." He shifted about, the muck of human viscera had dampen the sandy earth beneath his shoes,

"For now, why don't you get yourself a room drink at the nice piss hole over there, I need you and your rifle bright and early tomorrow."

@Chenzor

Oh Chenzor, you make me blush.

I love you too, ya glorious Nord.
Willard

Willard would be a liar if he said this was the first time someone pulled a knife on to his throat, but you can imagine his surprise when it happened in such a nice town. Fortunately she brought the weapon down and offered an apology. A younger him would have probably taken offense and promptly lashed out, but age brings patience and despite this outrageous reaction to a man sitting down he should take this at more than just face value.

"Eheem- I didn't know your beauty sleep was that important to you." He offered a small laugh to help lighten the mood. "But I think it's rather rude to pull a knife on someone you just met." Typical, normal everyday humans didn't act this way, then it hit him. That predatory gaze, jumpy nature, all of which tell tale signs of a wolf intruding on another's land. They were on the same boat,

"Now that all that unpleasantness is behind us, mind you telling who you are? Judging from your reaction you know exactly what I am, and I'd love to know how we go about this faux pas."

He gave her a cold, hard gaze, waiting for her response. He hadn't think he'd actually have to revert to his old self, frankly he liked playing the part of feeble middle-aged man, but this recent interaction might call for a bit more callousness. Willard was no fool and he hadn't forgotten his years of killing; he made peace, sure, but he never forgot. This woman was dangerous, to the town as a whole, and he'd be damned to sit by and do nothing.

@ViolentViolet
I thought you were all about bananas and grapes but you do know what to say when the time comes!

Ehhh? I didn't include food in my shit-posting, fuck I'm losing it.

PS grapes are the Devil, don't associate that trash with me.
What the fuck is going on.

<Snipped quote by KaiserAuto>Yeah, my nation eventually building a city in less tunrs than you can make sense.
My people are part of a well-planned journey to colonize a new world instead of being just plain refugees.
That and as you'll later find out my nation specializes in crafting. They have a pretty good technological aptitude.

<Snipped quote by KaiserAuto>I feel that forcing the RP to play out like a videogame is even more selfish.
This is an actual fluid story which shouldn't be inhibited by gameplay limitations.
That and unlike Civilization, the "turns" don't last for a few minutes but days.
Add up the fact that most roleplays go cold after a few or several months and you have an issue.
Seriously, forcing the mechanics of a whole different kind of game is the worst thing you can ever do.

You won't play Call of Duty according to Dungeons&Dragons rulebooks. You can try but that no longer will be an FPS.

I'm all for a new player, and you having your dwarfs do what they do is fine, but hating on the system as it is now, is trouble. Kaiser didn't spend 7 turns just copy pasting "build city" in each post, we're allowed to continue our stories and write and take other actions as we want. Granted, actions whilst city building are nerfed as allocation of labor and all that, but his story continues.

The system has worked as is, and Chenzor is a trooper for keeping up with 9+ people. If anything this makes the Nation RP function as a sort of tabletop RP, where resources and time management determine your civ stats, so yeh the turn system is necessary.
