That is a very good question. I guess that since light can't move through the camera the pictures would turn out black...

good to know! I'll have a post up soon ^_^
I have a question about the rules of the universe we're in, since I'm writing my intro post now and I seem to be stuck. ;-;

all electronics are frozen, but how does that affect a film SLR camera or instant camera? since they technically require light to flow into the lens for a certain duration or time, would all pictures just come through as completely black since light doesn't move? or do cameras still work as normal?
I want to make a character but I have a Regents exam tomorrow and I am stressing out.

I don't want to speak for Succulent or anything, but I'm sure you could postpone making a character until you finish your exam!

Name: Sarah Vaccher
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Occupation Before the Freeze: If partying was an occupation, Sarah is a professional. She also likes to break into places, steal things, and run from the cops in her spare time.

Skills:
  • Running, including freerunning
  • Picking locks
  • Picking pockets
  • Thinking on her feet

Weakness:
  • Is often under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Will probably kill you for a cigarette if she doesn’t have one
  • She’s known to be kind of a bitch, so I guess she’s not too much of a people person.
  • Incredibly insecure
  • Confident to a fault.

Corina crossed her arms as Chie spoke, maintaining her composure in the face of the small girl's boasting. Corina had heard of the Steel Soldier Ryoko series and knew that Chie's accomplishments were, to be fair, no small task, but they were no substitute for real combat experience. That was a lesson that Arienne taught hard, Corina soon found.

As the smaller woman - Stop calling people small. This isn't the army any more. This is navy, technically. Almost everyone is going to be smaller than you, Corina reminded herself - lectured Chie, Corina caught Arienne slipping a little bit, allowing her true personality to bleed through the typically patient, kinder character Arienne had previously maintained with the young girl. Corina hoped that Chie didn't catch that slip as she had; while Chie was more than likely going to be exposed to the harshier realities of combat and military life, she felt it best to let the girl see her lancemates as much better examples to look up to.

Fortunately, it seemed that Arienne had also caught herself, and returned to the more benign version of Arienne she had maintained for Chie. As Arienne dismissed herself, Corina crouched down to speak to Chie. "I've heard of these games you play, and those are quite impressive accomplishments. Not many people have the balls to even try New Game plus, nevertheless plus eight. However," Corina adjusted her position, turning her crouch into a kneel on one knee, "our reason for sparring is not for combat training. Arienne and I are professionals; we know how to fight. Think of sparring as a sort of real life video game, one in which two opponents get to know each other.

"Now," Corina got up from her kneeling position, "I'm going to follow Arienne and rest my head for a bit before grabbing a bite. You should join us." Corina forced a small, awkward smile, before turning away from Chie and heading for the Officers' Quarter. That went fairly well, I think, Corina consoled herself, relaxing from the surprising stress she had attained from her small chat with Chie.
Sai folded her arms and pursed her lips, going over the plan in her head. She wasn't going to be too useful for the break-in itself, but from what she could gather, the entire mission rested upon a pilot's ability to fly into a relatively small and likely heavily defended area of space. And Sai knew from experience that "a pilot" was more often than not herself.

Stepping towards the hologram, Sai began to rattle off questions of her own. And for a job of this scale, Sai had a lot of questions. "How accurate is this schematic? Do we have flight patterns for these satellites? Nav data? Patrol routes? Crew counts? How aware are the sensors on these Star Destroyers?"

A deep breath. Slow down, girl. Sai continued on: "Where do transports arrive from? Is it possible to mask our signature as one of those transports? Do they have a secondary line of defense for if and when they realize they've been broken into? Range of radiation effectiveness for this material from the mines? Will they affect a docked ship from the mines?"

It might have been obvious to her so called teammates, but Sai wasn't exactly interested in her pay. She had what she needed from the galaxy; material wealth was not a goal for her. Instead, she was far more interested in the challenge this particular job posed. It had been a long time since a job had challenged her skill, and this one definitely caught her attention. She began to go over a list of modifications she would need to make to Drifter IV to get it into the atmosphere, including diverting power from weapons to engines, changing the ship's ID signature, and possibly a new paint job. Drifter IV had gone through several looks in its lifetime, so a new paint scheme would not be unfamiliar for the YV-560. Besides, the current one - an all black look for a night raid Sai had conducted - was growing old, and fast.

However, she was particularly concerned about this material from the mines. If it were to somehow make its way onto the ship, they would be as good as stranded and dead. Sai would have to be sure anyone that survived the excursion into the mines was completely clean.

The good news was that she would more than likely survive the job, should it prove successful. There were few pilots in the galaxy better than her, and none of them were here. (Sai knew all of them by name or reputation - including that blasted Corellian and his Wookie co-pilot, but blast it if the Corellian wasn't kriffing hot.) That said, the team would probably need Sai alive if they wanted to get off the prison world at all. That brought Sai some comfort, but also placed a tremendous amount of pressure on her. Mistakes on the approach or escape would most likely be her own doing.
Sai held back a sigh of relief as all the datapads began to beep. The beeping had only hammered her point across, so not only was her leap in logic a correct one, it almost guaranteed that her speech would be taken well by those listening. Sai checked the datapad as she got up from the booth. She didn't feel like she needed to, though; by the time she had read the short message, three of them had already begun to make their way to the hangar bay. It had obviously occurred to her that she was docked in that hangar, but she wasn't sure if anyone else had been alerted to - or had already known - that fact. In any case, Sai figured that that meant she'd be flying this fun little bunch around the galaxy to whatever job they were about to be officially hired for.

Wait a second; Sai mentally referred back to that headcount she had been keeping before. On a stock YV-560, there was space to accommodate two crew members and five passengers. However, Drifter IV was no stock YV-560; the ship was heavily modified inside and out. Without going into detail, though, Sai had reduced Drifter IV's maximum capacity from seven to six, and that was before she had to accommodate the big one. She could do some last minute adjustments to the cargo bay to make it more of a home for the big lizard - You really need to catch her name, girl, Sai caught herself - but how well would that idea go over?

Fortunately, none of her inner ramblings mattered if her ship wasn't going to be the one to fly everyone around. Some of these people had to have their own ships, right?

Before she knew it, Sai found herself in a very familiar hangar bay, greeted by seven more people than she had initially expected. Only three had left before her; where did the other seven come from? Regardless, Sai waited around quietly with the rest of her "team members" in the hangar, unsure of what exactly she was supposed to be expecting.
I enjoyed that post @baskets, I read it like a circus ringleader announcing a big performance. Now that you mention it though, it could be the Joker too.

thanks, and I definitely read the ringleader, as well!

I think she's going to be the one trying to lead the team, when the time comes.

that's certainly the direction that it looks like it's headed right now, but Sai's not a leader by any means. she's way too hotheaded and she lacks commitment for that kind of responsibility. like I mentioned in her CS, Sai is a drifter, and she's much more likely to try to leave than lead. in any case, it's important to remember that Sai is currently maintaining a persona; if someone were to go and hit a nerve with her, she'd break character immediately! and then we'd all see just how incapable she really is of leading for extended periods of time.

I'd also like to mention that I've already made a list of what exactly will get her to break a character, and it's a big one. as I said before, she's a hothead.

I can see that, but good luck with that. I see this group like the Guardians of the Galaxy. We are just a group of A-holes that got put together to form a team.

this is how I see it, as well, tbh. occasionally one member may rise up and take control depending on circumstances, such as Sai right now, but I see a lot of infighting in this team's future.
