Annalynn nodded slowly as Maggie and Kiera discussed the most diplomatic solution to talking away the captain's disappearance. "Commander Mason," Annalynn kept it formal, as always, "the most challenging part will be convincing Station Yankee III that Captain Ray is too busy for them. It is likely that their current station head will at least want to briefly discuss the package we are delivering with the Captain. Diverting attention away from our lack of a Captain isn't too hard, but it will be more challenging than convincing the miners on Iorus II that Captain Ray cannot be bothered with them."

Slightly adjusting her position in her seat, Annalynn continued, "In any case, I suggest that I or a qualified member of the Science department go ashore, as well. After all, someone has to verify that we aren't being ripped off. And despite my better judgment, I also nominate both Ensign Mallory and Lieutenant Rama. The ensign will need to restock his... wares... and someone will need to keep him in check. Our chief of security does an excellent job of that, I believe."
@Chev Sai's ship doesn't have a med bay. in fact, the ship doesn't really have any specialized rooms beyond the engineering room and the weapons control room...
I imagine the Science department must buy some pretty sketchy things through our beloved black market trader to get some of their research done sometimes. military requisitions can't cover everything...
The message caught Annalynn as she was about to enter the science labs. Sandwich in one hand, datapad in the other, she did a quick 180 and headed towards the meeting room. If Maggie was calling a department head meeting, she was likely even more concerned than she had already implied in their previous conversation. Not like her concern would be without reason - two days without the captain and the Audacia was already closer to resembling a pirate ship than a Union Fleet ship.

In any case, Annalynn would have to keep things moving. She wrote a quick message addressed to the Science department:

"To all Science personnel:

Until order is restored, continue to work on your assigned tasks until further notice. That said, given that our resources are now split in three ways between upgrades to our ship's weapons, the search for our Captain, and the requests from Security (which, may I remind you, is not a priority, but must still be fulfilled in due order) I understand that the stress of the workload is a bit much to handle. But this department is more than capable of handling it and I expect our research and development to maintain a similar time frame.

Remember, my door is always open.

Commander Annalynn O'Neil

PS And to the people working on Audacia's weapons, please remember that manual calculations are always required to support your findings in simulation. I think we all remember what happened to the USS Dudacek."

Annalynn mentally shook her head at that incident. They had completely forgotten to tell the targeting computers to recognize Union ships younger than ten years and the Audacia almost fired on the Dudacek. That had only added yet another reprimand on the ship's long list...

By the time the message was written and sent, Annalynn found herself at the meeting room. She allowed herself in, nodding at the security guard posting outside as she entered.
What I will say is in periods like this your posting is fine, but when it comes to group events/firefights try to let everyone (present) to post.

If the players currently missing, aren't back by lift off. They will remain on the dreadnaught and can come back and join in again.

of course! I tend to post more frequently in downtime periods such as these just because there tend to be less negative consequences. but when the action starts, I'll definitely slow it down.

I also just wanted to address the bed situation to make things a little bit easier for when everyone else posts and picks a bed to sleep in. also wanted to shove in that little blurb about hidden compartments, both for Sai's reputation as a smuggler and so Trazi could start finding secret places to hide, just in case.
Sai smirked. Sirka was refreshingly straightfoward. "I'm not entirely useless in a firefight. I'm no lethal weapon, but I'm a pretty decent shot with a sniper rifle, and I can hold my own up close. If it gets too hot I might take you up on that offer for cover though," Sai grinned, getting up from her seat. She stretched for a second before moving to leave the cockpit.

"If memory serves, I don't have enough beds set up to accommodate everyone. I've got two spare beds back in the cargo hold - it's no luxury liner, but it'll have to do, right?" Sai managed to squeeze herself past Sirka and into the corridor, making her way to the main cargo hold behind weapons control. She raised her voice to be loud enough so that everyone on the ship could hear, "As you guys will notice, we're a little lacking on space in here. I'm propping up two beds in the cargo hold, which is mainly empty, so a couple of you can try to fit yourselves in there. Maybe the pretty little one here, hm Trazi?" Sai flashed her typical - almost iconic, at this point - grin at the small Twi'lek.

"Watch where you step; I've got hidden holes all over this damn ship. Some of the paneling is bound to come loose, so mind yourself you don't end up falling into one of them like a womp rat trap," Sai warned Trazi. Sai owned the blasted ship and she fell into the holes every so often. It was just embarrassing. Fortunately, nobody had been around to see those blunders, but falling into one now would surely shorten her lifespan with this team significantly.

Sai reverted to her raised voice to finish off her announcement to the team, "Give yourselves a few more minutes to settle in while I get these beds set up and we can hold a meeting in weapons control to figure out this plan of ours, yeah?" With that, she moved through weapons control and into the main cargo hold, where she had two beds propped up and strapped into the wall. She removed the straps, placing the beds so that upon entering the hold, there was one in the back left corner and one in the back right. Nodding at her interior decorating ability, Sai spun around and took a seat at one of her targeting computers, waiting for the rest of the team to get comfortable and meet her.
Tadia takes offense at that @my Lalia however I thank you :P

God I hate romance/sex stuff in RPs...

Though you can play it, just don't over-do it/make it cheesy/ do it all the time.

If you do one of the above 3 then we may get hit by an gender neutralizing raybeam.

shit. I've personally been hit by a gender neutralizing raybeam before, people. it's... not a fun feeling.
Sai had to hesitate before she answered that question, and she knew it would be apparent to Sirka. But she knew herself, and she knew that before long she'd grow tired of this job. Or if it wasn't the job, it would be the team, or the area of space, or... something. There was always an excuse, some reason Sai would get herself out of it. It always happened.

She spun around in the pilot's chair, leaning forward and resting her weight on her knees. Her second to breathe was up, and it was time to play the leader once more. "If we live, yeah, I think we'll be stuck together for a little bit. I'm not one for commitments, though, and I'm an even less likely leader, I think, so this entire job so far has been a surprise," Sai explained. "You seem like a pretty grounded person. But we might as well sign ourselves off now if we think that we're going to operate well as a team immediately. I'm not used to playing well with others, and I get the feeling more than a few of us don't like playing with others. Belona's going to be an exercise in teamwork, that's for sure."

Sai leaned back in her chair, becoming more relaxed as she talked on and on. "What's your view on this? Do you think we're gonna last very long?"
Annalynn could only smirk at Maggie's rant about procedure. However, the more solemn turn in the conversation quickly ended that. As Christian returned with the duct tape, Annalynn was pleased to see Maggie light up again - the way things were going, Annalynn might have to stock up on a stash of duct tape just to keep Maggie going. The ship needed her to keep it together, after all.

"You may be one of the smartest people I know besides myself, but you're a fucking animal, Nuts," Annalynn grinned, getting up from where she had been kneeling. "I still need our simulator fixed. My technological know-how only goes so far." She turned to exit as Lieutenant Conado came in, awkward as ever. He was a nice guy, however, and Annalynn had no problem with him.

She gave a nod in greeting, "Lieutenant. Good to see you, as well. Unfortunately, our nicknames were not planned, as I've been called Bolts since long before I even graduated. In any case, I should get going. Grab a bite before heading back to the lab." Annalynn excused herself from the server room to grab a sandwich from the cafeteria.
angry rocks + charming dicks + duct tape. THE PERFECT MIX
