Teddy looked up at Irvine and nodded uncertainly, he wasn't exactly sure what the guy was saying, but he got the gist. Then the janitor tossed a trash can and knocked two of them over, they kept moving but didn't get back up, so it seemed to be at least a little helpful. At the old man's cry for them to run, Teddy attempted to follow suit, picking up one of the lunch room chairs and throwing it in the direction of the monsters. He wasn't sure if he had the strength to throw it hard enough to hit them, let alone knock them over, but in the very least it might get in their way and slow them down.

After throwing the chair, Teddy followed Subhas' command and dashed for the door, knowing the longer the kids waited, the longer Subhas would wait, and the more likely any of them might get attacked.
@Bassummoner This is on the Casual board, so as far as I'm concerned 1-2 paragraphs is just fine for post length. No need to apologize. :)
Panic flooded over Teddy, rooting him to the spot. In a few brief moments a student had attacked a teacher, then the both of them were attacking others. Most of the students had fled the room, but he wanted to help. He just wasn't sure how. He didn't even know what was going on. He looked between the older students and the adults, his eyes wide and pleading for some sort of guidance as these (monsters?) shambled towards them. He didn't know how to fight. He wanted to cry out to the infected to stay away, cry out to the surviving for a plan, cry out to his parents for comfort, but his voice caught in his throat and stuck there like a wad of dried glue. Instead, all he managed was a whimper, and he took a step back from the advancing seven.
Just popping in to say good luck @Beekeeper!

I'm honestly glad to see you were able to get the ball rolling on what you wanted. :)

Thanks Rain! You're welcome to join in on the fun! :3

How about we keep it to irl months, or maybe even shorter to keep the RP flowing.

We'll try one month = one season for now and see how that works for everyone. January 1 will be the start of Spring, then.

Almost done with my character; still finishing up his bio and personality, then I'm all set. Also, I've lagged behind on the series since A Wonderful Life (mainly due to not having the consoles for the games when they came out), so I might be a bit slow if something comes up that I'm not familiar with...

Don't worry, I'm in no way caught up with the games. This isn't based on the plot or setting of any in particular, but rather the elements and feel of the HM universe.

Alrighty. By the way @Beekeeper, how shall we keep track of months? I noticed that you wanted to keep the Solstice celebration around 3-7 irl days. How should we gauge our seasons? Since the seasons of the year were a very important mechanic in the video games.

I had originally thought to have each IRL month be a season, but we could do real time. What do you guys think?
Yep! Sorry if I didn't make that clear.
Sorry to catch you right before bed! Just got back at like 11:40 from a day full of shopping myself, haha.

IC is up! Post away! I'll be working on NPC bios myself. :P
Sugar Pine Village

... lies nestled between enchanted forest and breathtaking oceanfront. Quaint cottages and houses surround a cluster of storefronts that make up Main Street, with only a few farmsteads, cabins, and shacks standing as outliers away from the village. Once abandoned as the result of an economic collapse, 100 volunteers have come back to revive it to a new glory. Although the town has been all hustle and bustle since the arrival of its new inhabitants, on this moonlit night it appears as though the village has been emptied once more. Indeed, it would seem the village had been entirely abandoned if it weren't for one large building bursting at its seams...

The Greenleaf Lodge

Winter solstice marks the shortest day of the year, which can only mean that the days get longer (and the future, brighter) from here. As a combined celebration of the solstice and the reestablishment of the village, Mayor Dottery Dink has coordinated with Greenleaf Lodge owner and innkeeper Willow Falkner, who has graciously opened her doors for a night of good old fashioned getting-to-know-you joy. So pull up a chair, or a stool if it suits you, enjoy the music, enjoy the company, and enjoy the beer, the first round of which is on Mr. Dink himself.

(OOC: The Winter Solstice Celebration is an ~Event!~ which will last for 3-7 days, longer if it warrants it. I'm leaving it up to @dndragons to describe the lodge as they see fit. Interact with one another, and if you like, interact with some of the "main" NPCs which I will be posting about in the characters section shortly, such as the mayor, the sheriff, the chief physician, etc.)
@Bassummoner and @StarInaBox both look great - accepted!

For future reference (and perhaps I should put this in the thread title), I'll continue accepting applications until the game feels too cluttered, as of now there is no set limit.

I'll be starting up the IC shortly! Feel free to continue posting in the OOC, getting to know other players and offering me feedback as a GM as we go on!

Edit: StarInaBox, could we start you off with a regular axe and maul? Gold might be a good rp goal to work toward from a relationship with the Harvest Goddess or from the hardware store as the town becomes more prosperous.
