Current And so when you have one player who plays both of the characters, that means they are dictating and creating their own character growth rather than it being dependent on someone else's writing.

I think the failing of most Fate RPs is that they have each person play both a master and servant. The problem with this is that the bonds between the servant and their master are the deepest growth.

I'm sorry to people who had put effort into the RP I was starting a few months ago. My father passed away unexpectedly on the 1st of July, at the age of 56. So I haven't really been on here much.

I don't care what anyone says, I'm having the most fun with FFXV that I've had with a game since Metal Gear 5.

@Shoryu That's fine.

@sassy1085 I don't mean any offense by this but, that whole profile is like broken English, and as I said in This Post the ship would not currently have a doctor, as it's not large enough to need one and doesn't go out on extended trips. Also I'm just not really sure about the whole idea of the character. Aside from just seeming like she's basically Medusa from Soul Eater but with Blackstar's backstory, I don't really understand why an assassin would join a crew that goes out to fight monsters, if her goal is to kill other people, specifically ones who killed her family. I'm also just in general, not sure about the idea of a bunch of assassin groups going around killing each other and other people. The world is basically in a post-apocalyptic state where everyone is coming together for survival, and the most conflict that has happened between humans is really minor crimes, and disputes between the different cities.
@Salenea Go ahead and post it.

@spacepirate Yep, all good to apply.

I'll be getting an IC post up soon just to get it started, and people can join as they are accepted. We'll just assume that anyone who applies to the RP is in some shape or form, around. Whether it's just an unnamed member of the crew now having a name, or a new addition, we'll figure it out as we go.

@Shoryu That I did, my bad.

@Gunther Meant YOUR profile is good to go.
I'm always interested in Steam punk stuff, if this is still open, then I'll look into joining tommorrow ^.^ if not, then oh well, I was too late again XD

It's still open.

In fact to everyone else, I need to know who is 'interested' and who is actually going to take part.

@Shoryu Profile looks good, go ahead and post it.

@Katthaj Let me know when you've finished up your profile.

I've got a character idea going. Helmsman with aspirations to be pilot. Older. It's a bit late right now to start on anything, but I've got an idea ready to start being put down to paper.

Alright, I'll consider you the Helmsman then.
Is there going to be a discord chat for this RP?

EDIT: Would the ship's doctor be considered an engineer?

I don't have plans to make a Discord for it at the moment, but we'll see once it gets going.

I suppose it would but at the start there won't likely be a doctor. For the first ship they're going to be on, you're looking at a ship basically like this:

With some guns bolted to the deck and the crew quarters is a bunch of hammocks strung up. More positions will open up in the future, when there are more dedicated positions, but at the moment ships aren't meant to go out for long, and if a doctor is needed, they're expected to basically patch them up and get them back to the city.

I'd say if your character has experience as a doctor, and wants to be one, let that be their aspiration, or at least one of them.
Name: Sahara Drake

Age: 37

Background: Sahara's grandfather fought in the war that lead up to the Atomic Awakening. Many people place some amount of blame on the soldiers who fought in the war, so it wasn't an easy life for him. Even so, Sahara would always listen to his stories. Stories of glory, of honor, and of death, loss, and suffering. What she took interest in most however, was his stories of the ships that sailed on oceans of water. The old world was now only a story. Expeditions to the surface rarely came back, and it was difficult to gather much information anyways going down there. Nobody knew how much the world had changed, if it even had at all. The skies, were all humanity knew now.

But her Grandfather had been a Captain in the United States Navy, and his stories drove her to work hard to have her own ship one day. It was a simple dream, but she never knew just how far she would take it. Working her way up from nothing, she was a nobody on board a freighter that came under attack from a Wyvern.

Nobody knows what truly happened that day but Sahara, but the stories claim that she took down the Wyvern by herself, with nothing more than a harpoon gun, and a knife. No matter the reality of the story, it cemented her place as a legend among sailors, and it wasn't long after that she had her own ship, and a call for crewmembers was sent out. No doubt, many people would answer the call at a chance to serve under the legendary Sahara Drake.

She was truly a modern Captain Drake.

Personality: Sahara is a rather serious person when it comes to matters aboard her ship. She won't take even a joke of insubordination lightly, and won't be challenged by her crew. Even questioning the story of her battle with a Wyvern is likely to get some sort of punishment. Most sailors understand that it doesn't matter if the story is true or not. They know that people need something, and someone to believe in if they are ever going to stand a chance against the monsters of the surface. If they are going to hunt monsters, they need to believe it's possible. Sahara is willing to be the symbol of proof that it can be done.

When not aboard her ship however, Sahara becomes much more open, willing to drink her nights away, laugh and party with her crew. As long as they're ready to do their jobs when the ship leaves port, she doesn't care what they do. At least, not right now she doesn't.

Crew Position: Captain

Aspirations: Simply put, she dreams of Captaining a vessel capable of taking on the biggest and baddest of the world's monsters. She has only heard stories of the Warships of the Old World, but it gives her ideas for what could be the ships of the future.

Appearance:

Dunno why but all this reminds me of this, but steampunk.

I'd say general things like that are the inspiration for it. There was even an old movie I once watched which was like, this kid gets picked up from his home and joins a ship on board a flying ship, and their mission is to hunt a giant whale. Pretty sure it was animated, but yeah just in general things like that.

Then the monsters are kinda similar to I guess like, Godzilla King of Monsters to some degree, even though I've not really gotten into that. Just seems similar in some ideas, but with more variety as giant monsters are by far not the only threat.
How long has it been exactly since the Atomic Awakening? The OP doesn't really specify.

sike im a dumbass

I will also point out that Humanity left the surface not very long after the monsters arrived. At most they stayed on the surface for a month, as you can imagine that with the kinds of things that were popping up, this wasn't some year long struggle for survival. If they stayed very long at all they'd be wiped out.

And within that month, that includes the time for them to get as many cities floating as they could, attempt to nuke the crap out of the monsters, thus awakening much worse things, and get the flying cloud machines going that made the permanent cloud oceans.
So is this a spin-off of Battleships and Dragons?

I like my titles like I like my other word beginning with t.

In alphabetical order.

If you want your title in alphabetical order, you'll need to defeat the dragons and reclaim your right place as the Battleships, in front of the Dragons.
